Yea, I'm making my own dam thread.

Yep, just watched the 05 Rumble and it's definately the best one I've ever seen and I've seen them all.

That Rumble had so many "big" superstars. A lot of guys could of won the match. There didn't seem to be that one guy that just exceeded everyone else IMO and that's what made it so great. Also, the spots in this match were terrific.

You had Benoit and Eddie opening

Puder, the ego maniac, coming out and getting on the mic

The Raw vs Smackdown battle

Hassan's entrance

WGTT spot

Dean doing excercises outside the ring

Angle charging the ring and taking out everyone

The Angle/HBK confrontation where Angle reversed the kick into the lock
Angle eliminating HBK

Cena's HUGE POP and then he comes out: Spins Belt, Throws down chain, throws down belt, throw away hat. Then throws out VIS  That was great.

London getting killed by Snitsky

Cena/ Snitsky Confrontation. Fans popped for this

Kane coming in to another big pop and destroying everyone. LOL, he always does that

Batista coming out and getting a HUGE POP.

Batista eliminating Snisky

Batista and Kane confrontation with Crowd GOING NUTS and then Tista powerbombed Kane

The opening of Xtian's music kept the atmosphere alive. I love that opening.

Flair and Batista working together and thne Flair trying to eliminate him

Cena Fu'ing Kane out

Then the Edge spot where he speared Rey out

Then The Moment I've been waiting to see. The New Blood Being the Final Two. In one way I was just picturing Orton standing there face to face with Cena and that would of been just awesome. But Batista/Cena was great as well and it's great to see the new guys getting the spotlight :y: :y: :y:

Awesome Rumble. I loved it.

I was had work and had to record it but it failed :(

Thats £15 down the Toilet.

Either way from what i saw it seemed pretty good.

It also sounds like there was a fair deal of guys in the ring at a time.

My least fave Rumbles are the ones where the ring never gets 6 or more in at a time.

Ill have to wait for the DVD release.

I wasn't too impressed with the Rumble itself. You just knew what was going to happen and who was going to win it. However, the skits and backstage stuff (for a change) was golden.

Think the last 3-4 year in a row now have had kane and bigshow leading the chokeslam parties. Pretty much an expected part of the rumble now, just have to wonder whos turn its gonna be each year.

Had to love simon deans contribution, as always a guy that can wrestle and entertain getting stuck with a gimmick thats been done before..and died before. Creative team at wwe are obviously well worth the money they get paid.

yea, but you can say that about almost all the Rumbles, especially the "Internet Age" ones. I mean, it's very easy to predict who's going to win.

Really, when it came down to Cena and Bastista, I couldn't make a prediction. Last year between the Big Show and Benoit it was no question.

Same here, only real part of the rumble that kept me guessing.

i have LISTENED to the commentary, i downloaded it but i dont have codec (andi am at a public library so i cant download it).

It sounded awesome, altho, i thought the entrances wee a bit too predictable.
Batista and Flair getting late numbers, Snitsky coming in right before/after Kane, hardcore right after Dan Puder.

btw. Technically, the rumble isnt over...because Scotty 2 hotty never made it to the ring did he?

Same with Spike last year :)
BUT - SPike has since been eliminated because he has gone over the rope in other matches...technically tho, Batista and Scotty 2 Hotty are still in the rumble...right.

I was watching the 2000 rumble and I was kind of surprised to notice that Edge, Christian, Jericho, Viscera, Kane, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Hardcore Holly were all in the 2000 and 2005 rumbles.
Additionally, HHH, the Big Show, Bradshaw, Tazz, and Kurt Angle were both involved in each show in some way.

I havent got my tape of the show yet, so I'm just going by reading the results.

As I read the results of the show, I kept thinking that the whole match was pretty predicatable.

I think everyone knew going in the ONLY two guys who had a shot of winning were Batista and Cena, and since Batista is on RAHHHW, it was a sfae bet that Cena would be flying over the top rope.

Sounds like they did some cool spots, and again I didn't see it, but nothing stood out to me as being anything that I would call shocking.

Check that, I didn't think they would have it come down to ena and Batista, I didn't think they would be dumb enough to do that, but this IS the WWE were talking about.

Scotty 2 Hotty is a Rumble Disaster.

He didnt make it to the ring this year.

He didnt make it to the ring in 2002 I think either.

2001, he made it to the ring, but had to face Kane and Taker, who just decimated him.

any other S2H rumble downfalls?

:wtf:

You're kidding, right? You would rather have the same tired guys the WWE has used countless times to win the Rumble (wait...has Triple H been the ONLY guy the WWE has used?)? For once, they actually used two guys who are starting to really get their big breaks, and you're not proud of that?

Who would you rather have as the final two, Flair and Vicera? Gimmee a break.

Dont forget Maven, the year he eliminated the Undertaker he never was offically eliminated just taken out. so techically got Batista, S2H and Maven of 2001 or 02 whichever year that was. haha

92 was the best. Shawn Michaels should have been top 4 in that one. He was great while he was in. I never expected Sid to throw Hogan out. At the time i was a huge Hogan mark and when they flashed sids face and he grit his teeth. I just knew he was gunna throw hogan out. I was so pissed. But when i watch that rumbe i just think how great of a job they did putting over Ric Flair in that rumble. Heenan really was amazing in that rumble and we never even saw him. Just heard him. Flair was amazing. He literally was fighting non stop. Possibly one of Flairs greatest moments.

92 was defenitly the best. I havent seen 2005.

I think Maven was the only time they actually had something because he was never eliminated from the Rumble. I remember him getting a title shot against Jericho a week later.

But I always love the Royal Rumble. There were more great moments this year, such as Angle/HBK, everyone turning on Hassan, RAW v SmackDown, Haas and Benjamin reunion, and the finish itself where Cena and Batista took turns throwing each other out, until Vince comes and screws up coming into the ring.

Of course not, but it was stupid to have Cena get cleanly eliminated by Batista. They should ahve Cena screwed by someone, to give him an excuse for losing, and then have Batista go over some heel.

The way they did it, they made Batista seem superior to Cena, which is very very stupid.

Haas and Benjamin reunion.

What exactly happened here then? I didn't actually see the royal rumble. Did these two work together to get people out? Or did Haas or Benjamin throw the other out????

Think the only thing they done together was that move where benjamin leapfrogged over haas and landed on the opponent laying over the ropes.

91 - Randy Savage no-showed at the Rumble

94 - Bastion Booger no-showed at the Rumble

98 - Skull no-showed at the Rumble

02 - Maven was never eliminated, just dragged out by Undertaker

04 - Spike Dudley never made it to the ring

05 - Scotty 2 Hotty never made it to the ring

So having someone never get eliminated is nothing new. However, this year, since Cena and Batista were eliminated at the same time, then S2H technically won the Rumble before Vince came out and restarted it.

Technically HBK was never really eliminated!! Angle threw him out AFTER he himself had been dumped out!! I hate it when they do that and let the elimination stand its complete bullshit!!

Oh, and this was the best rumble in a few years!!

Yea, this years Rumble match was definately my favorite. It just had so many possible and realistic winners. Usually theres just one guy that stands out, and the ending is predictable (02- HHH, 03- Lesnar, etc.)

If you want to get really technical, then the HBK elimination does count. The rules only say "when a superstar goes over the top rope and both feet touch the ground" they are eliminated. It doesn't say anything about having to be thrown over by someone that hasn't been eliminated already, or by anyone in the match at all even. That also allows people to eliminate themselves as well, like Kane in 99.

And Technically the WWE has executed that as well, when in...well I think it was 94 Rumble, Undertaker was thrown out by Giant Gonzelez who wasn't technically in the rumble
