Do you guys think it would be a good idea if WWE brought back the hardcore title? But instead of the 24/7 rule, make it a cross brand rule. So whoever is champ has to defend on both shows.
post your thoughts

The trouble with it is that it's not really hardcore anymore. Nobody the crazy stuff they did at the beginning anymore.

Personally, I say no.

like funky said, the hardcore style has been phased out somewhat from the WWE. Plus, with Smackdown! on UPN, I assume that if they wanted to introduce a more violent product, it would haveto be toned down significantly on Smackdown!

Personally, I don't see much need for a hardcore championship in the WWE anymore. As of now, the only guys who could be genuine hardcore wrestlers are:
- Hardcore Holly
- Rob Van Dam
- Viscera (maybe)
- Spike
- D'von and Bubba Ray

There's no longer Al Snow, Crash Holly (RIP), Mike Awesome, Steve Blackman etc...

Womens title means nothing

CW title means nothing

RAW and SD tag titles mean nothing.

IC and US titles have very little meaning.

WWE and World titles have some value, but not nearly as much as they should.

My focus would be on making those titles mean something. At that point, if there is a need for more titles, sure bring it in. But until then, NO MORE TITLES!!!!

This has been brought up tons of times.....

Bring the hardcore title back and have it go on both shows. If the champion is a raw superstar and he loses to a smackdown superstar then that Raw superstar stays on Smackdown. Intead of calling it the hardcore title they could call it the cross promotional title or something along that....its been said by almost everyone on the boards...

I dont know if they should bring back the hardcore title because as others have said there are few around that could actually do something with it. Now if WWE wanted to revamp it self then bringing this back and making it more hardcore might be the way to go.

firstly, the wwe wanna keep the brands separate.

Secondly tho, ppl jumping from brand to brand didnt work with the world championship, it wouldnt work with the hardcore championship either.

Personally, i like the brand split, and then the occasional meetings between wrestlers from different brand (ie, batista-cena at RR)

The idea of bringing back the Hardcore title is something i've been thinking about for awhile. Right now, it looks like WWE is turning into WWE Smackdown! Vs. Raw. It's almost like it's going to be World Heavyweight Championship Vs. WWE Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania. If the Hardcore title is brought back, they should keep the 24/7 rule. I just don't think the superstar who loses it has to stay on the roster he lost it on.

I'd also like to add that WWE has lost a bit of their hardcore touch. But, Eric Bishoff made a Steel Cage match this past Monday and at No Way Out, it's going to be JBL vs. Big Show in a special Steel Cage Match that has barbed-wire on top of it. I've heard of this match before but I never saw it in a WWE event. Has this happened before?
