Hi,
Just downloaded the vince russo shoot from bash at the beach.
Can someone please explain what occured? I basically get the fact that hogan won using his power, but any information would be great!
Thanks
G.

Hogan was told ahead of time that he was going to put over Jarrett at
the PPV. When he showed up to the PPV,he wanted to use his "power"
(that was granted to him in his contract) to go over on Jarrett instead.
This did not sit well with Russo,so he got together with Jarrett and ma-
de a decision to have Jarrett lay down as soon as Hogan hit the ring &
have Hogan just put his foot on Jarrett and win the Title; then cut that
promo on Hogan, and oust him from WCW.
Hogan handled the situation quite well I believe, and he was indeed right
when he said crap like that was what was killing WCW.....

Jarrett walked out to the ring,Russo (who was standing in the entrance
way down to the ring) had a mic,and made an announcement to the ef-
fect of "you wanted a title, you got a title",etc.. and Jarrett layed down.
Hogan put his foot on him,the referee counted to three and Hogan was
awarded the title. Jarrett rolled out of the ring, and Hogan then grabbed
a mic and said something to the effect of "that's why this company is in
the position that it's in; because of bullshit like this",and then walked off.
Later you saw him leaving the building with his kid (in the background - by
chance) when they went backstage to do a liveshot of Vampiro (I think it
was). So yeah,Hogan handled it fairly well.
Russo waited until after Hogan was gone to come back out and do his big
promo/speech on him. He then unveiled the "new title" and said Jeff would
wrestle Booker T in the main event for the title.
Hogan was meant to comeback and do a unification match with Booker T down the line. Hogan was in on everything except the Russo shoot on the show. Basically, he made an agreement with Hogan then screwed him over when he left the building. It went to court and I'm fairly sure Russo won which is a miracle since he was 100% in the wrong.

It wasn't a straight-shoot, it was a worked shoot. Hogan knew it was coming, he was told by Russo in advance, Hogan only sued because he took exception to a comment Russo made as he improvised and tried to use the issue to make some easy cash and leave his contract. Hogans lawsuit failed because Russo didn't do anything illegal. Just shows you, never trust Hogan to keep to an agreement.
