View Full Version : Turn Rey Mysterio HEEL?

I just realized this after watching Angle vs. Mysterio...why not turn Mysterio heel? I mean, he's been a super babyface ever since his WCW days...and it would generate a lot of shock if he were a complete badass heel. It'd be definitely something fresh, I think.

I see your point about "shock" and "fresh" and I wouldn't mind seeing Rey go as a heel, but it would never work for a couple of reasons:

1) Rey has a big fan base and is one of the very very few guys that still sells tickets. He (and Eddie) bring in the Latino community. You don't want to turn him heel and turn fans away.

2) He would still get cheered, Austi_style. Rey has those "pop" moves, like an RVD, where the fans will always cheer his moves and he will never garner any heat.

3) Rey can't work the mic. All the great heels need to talk. Talking is an important part in getting the people to hate you.

WCW tried it. Putting devil horns on a guy doesn't make him a heel.

WCW already tried it? Well, how about turning Rey into a Bret Hart type heel? Popular within the latinos...hated amongst the non latino Americans. However, I see what you mean by not having great mic skills...

They also took his mask away to get him to turn heel. That didn't work at all. Sorry folks, Rey Rey shall always be a super-baby face. Besides...we all know just how well a little guy works as a heel. See Spike Dudly for example. Not ECW Spike mind you. WWE Spike.

That would be terrible to do that because they'd be turning Rey into another X-Pac.

Like LC said, Rey is like RVD, the people will just cheer for him whether he is face or heel, because of the moves he does.

I think he could work as a heel, as long as he had some back-up (like Heyman).

Sure fans will pop for his moves, but he could use more mat-based stuff, and have him use the moves to further the damage done to the body part he's working on.

I really think it'd work, just have Rey Rey turn "evil". There must be someone on the creative team that can come up with a way Mysterio would become a bad guy.
