It was funny and all. Not as good as the first but pretty funny.

The thing is, I was really distracted for most of the movie because the boom mic kept getting WAY into the shot. Like 12 times the microphone was either a little visible at the top of the screen or, in a few instances, THE ENTIRE MIC, STICK AND ALL, WAS JUST HOVERING ON TOP OF THE SCREEN. It was insane. I have no idea how this wasn't edited out but I'm suprised I haven't heard more about this. It actually got pretty surreal just watching this huge mainstream movie and seeing the mic a good distance into the shot. Felt like I was dreaming or something. Crazy.

Oh yeah and that part at the start is shit, with the answerphone machine, not only was it not funny but it was copied, when they did it on Naken Gun 33 1/3 it was fucking classic.

The answering machine thing was one of the only things I laughed at.

If you can see the boom mic then it is usually the projectors fault... and not the actual movie.

It's throughout the first half of the movie. If you have some sort of copy that you have already aprehended in some way, just keep looking at the top of the screen. IMPOSSIBLE to miss.

nope, don't notice it.

Did you take a "special" substance, not legal in the US, before watching the flick?

I watched it with a friend who saw it too so it wasn't just me.

Thought whether he was ACTUALLY there or not may be a question.

I believe that when the movie is filmed the boom mic can appear in the picture. But when it is properly projected on screen it should be cropped out or whatever.

When I saw Signs - that Mel Gibson, the projector wasn't directed at the screen properly and you could see the boom mic in almost every indoor shot. It was really distracting in the composition of the shots, and disrupted the feel of the scenes.

Yah i worked for a movie theater running the upstairs projectors and i've ruined many of great movies for people. Titanic was soooo shit with the boom mics. Lots agreed.

Alright, so now that the whole mic thing has been explained...

The movie was really quite funny. Babies in movies are usually awful but this one worked. It wasn't nearly as good as the first but it was better than I thought it would be.

From what I've seen on set, the boom mic operator has to be outta the shot every take.. Equipment, shadows and all..

A long time ago when I went to the movies to see "The gift", we could see the mic but it was a problem with the image and the guy at the movies fixed it.

also, what was the answermachine part? i dont remember that
It went like a normal answering machine message but the father he didn't know how to turn it off so he hits a button thinking he turned it off but he really didn't. And so he's talking to his wife about making chimichangas in which the answering machine is still recording. ANd then the mother says something like Chimichangas give him gas, and then he says "But honey I want a Chimichanga" ANd then the Woan says "So make a chimi" And then in mid sentence the answering machine beeps allowing you to record your message.

I don't remember all of it but that's basically how it went.

also, what was the answermachine part? i dont remember that
It went something like a normal message "You've reached so and so please leave a message after the beep" but he didn't know how to turn off the recording. So he presses a button thinking he turned off the answering machine but he really didn't. And then he starts talking to his wife about Chimichangas I believe, and so the woman says Chimichangas give him gas and the answering machine is picking up this whole conversation. And then he says"But, honey I want a Chimichanga" ANd the woman says "SO make a Chimi" ANd it cuts off with the beep allowing you to leave a message.

It went something like that.
