okay i've seen these burnable dvd discs out, my question is can you use it in a non dvd capacity and still get the storage space or whatever. like for example if i wanted to burn 4 gigs of mp3's or whatever using my regular cd burner (not a dvd one) would that work?

usually a burner is not just for movies, for both data and whatever it is

You can use the disc to burn whatever you are. It just holds 4.7 gigs of datas.
