View Full Version : The Snitsky/Heidenreich Conundrum
I was thinking about these two "superstars" earlier, now they both have similar characters and came in around the same time (we'll forget about Heidies first run on Raw) and have both spent their time in WWE fueding with one of the Brothers of Destruction (TM) however, while Gene has been fairly even in his fued with Kane and picked up victories, John just jobs to Taker, over, and over, and over! Ok he gets the better of Taker now and again but apart from costing him matches and beating Charlie Haas (who hasn't?) Heidenreich has done jack shit in the fued.
I was just wondering if anyone could give reason as to why one of these oh-so-similar characters have been treated so differently.
Lets face it, niether man is golden in the ring but they are as good (if that's the right word) as each other.
If the rumoured tag match between the Brothers and the psychos is gonna go ahead at WM21 it will not only stink due to the participants but the result isn't even in question!
I'm guessin most of you're answers are gonna blame Taker for not wanting to lay down for a rookie. Let's see...

While I won't comment on his skills, the Heidenreich character is a good one, IMO.
I'm more interested in discussing Gene Snitsky at the moment. I really think people should cut the guy some slack. He's good at taking bumps, and his character and facial expressions are PRICELESS. He's no Benoit, but for a guy of his build, he's quie good, in my opinion anyway.
They really should have moved Snitsky away from Kane after he destroyed him at Taboo Tuesday. Have Kane cut a promo about how he's now going back to being a monster, and have Snitsky do his own thing. It would have been much better than these coutnless confrotnations between Now-Stale Snitsky and Human Kane.
Maybe Snitsky & Heidenreich would be better teaming together full-time after WrestleMania?

Heidenreich's saving feature was Paul Heymen. But Paul is gone, so Heidenreich sucks. Snitsky is ok, for a pollock.

I can't stand Heidenreich, epscially without Heyman as his mouthpiece.

Heidenreich is good at his gimmick, but sucks terribly in the ring.

Kane is no where near human again. He's just as much of an animal as he was before when he lost his mask...only he's not going around and attacking people left and right. If someone comes in his face though, he just choke slams them.

I'm curious as to what else it would be. All this hype for what turn out to be slightly drawn-out squash matches. Builds that go nowhere.
Undertaker's clearly part of the problem, be it in ring or backstage.

I don't mind. Heidi's never really done much for me, so I'm glad he gets buried. Just put him on Velocity already.

I think Heidenriech is actually better on the microphone. Of course he still sucks. Gene is worse on the mic... like... REALLY bad. So bad that he's good. Better than Heidenriech. If that makes sense.
Everything Snitsky does is just hilarious cause it's like... a cheesy B-Movie monster.
When they're together though they bring out the best (or is it worst?) in each other. Their little interaction from the Rumble was one of the highlights of the night.
Hopefully if they do the draft after Mania again they'll end up on the same show.

I agree. Snitsky's so bad he makes Heidenreich's poetry look good. And we all know how big a fan I am of John's poems...
Gene's horrible on the mic. I'm having trouble thinking of a worse current mic star. I can't take him seriously.
Heidenreich is a little easier to deal with.

Well, Heidenreich reminds me of Sid Vicious.
Snitzky reminds me of jobber Iron Mike Sharpe.
Those are my two cents.

*Snitsky is getting ready one night on RAW*
Heyman: Mr. Snitsky
Snitsky: YEAH PAUL?
Heyman: My client Heidenreich wants to know something
Snitsky: WHAT IS IT PAUL?
Heyman: Well MR. Snitsky, do you like Heidenreich...or <i>like</i> like him?

Snitsky - has (for whatever reason) impressed ALOT of important people backstage...ok it was Stephanie.
Also if I may put my opinion out there...Snitsky is entertaining and enjoyable to watch, Heidenrich is enjoyable because it gives me a solid 4 minutes to piss and get another soda.
I am not a huge fan of Snitsky, but something about him is like a lava-lamp...very hard to stop watching. Heidenrich doesn't have the charisma, the in ring talent, or the character to get himself over. An up side of his is so long that Taker is beating him on a weekly basis he is out of the way of guys like Eddie, Booker, and Cena.

Snitsky is pretty damn decent in my mind. I LOVE everything that comes out of his mouth. If they pair these two guys as a tag team, I think they could do somehting for the division. Image the backstage promos. Gold.

I think the reason the wwe let Snitsky win and Heidenreich lose, is because...
1. Undertaker's more important to Smackdown than Kane is to Raw and if Undertaker lost to a newbie it would hurt Smackdown and his career.
2. Kane needed time off to film a movie so they used Snitsky as an excuse.
3. Undertaker's better than Kane, so he has a better reputation and has more chances of winning.

1. Undertaker's not important to Smackdown. Hell, half the time he doesn't even show up tro promote his PPV appearances.
2. Valid, yet doesn't explain his current sitch.
3. Yes, a redneck boxer who can barely lift up his opponents for his finisher is better. I agree. Kevin Nash is also better, because hasbeens=rulz

1. He is important. He doesn't show up because it is in his gimmick not to be too mic friendly. He has not lost fairly once since his return.
2. It would be unrealistic if Snitsky was suddenly terrible.
3. Watch Wrestlemania XX and practically any other Kane - Taker match if you don't believe me.

1. He's really not. He doesn't show up because he's a lazy sob and the backstage will bend over backwards to suck his dick. He's coasting on his name and nostalgia these days.
2. As opposed to the wrestling world's intense fucking realism, right? Sorry, I forgot about that.
3. What am I looking for? A win-loss record? because that's the only way I really see Taker as "better" in recent history. His WM XX match with KAne was disappointing, because it made him look old and boring, even as he dominated his brother. Big Fucking deal.

I've been reading the tagmatch is possibly off, and that Taker/Orton is back on at Mania. Just rumor and everything but where would that leave Heidenreich Snitsky and Kane?

Handicap match?
It's bullshit though. Orton's going to go up against the remains of Andre the Giant in the first ever "Vince has gone too far with the legend killer schtick" match.
I was thinking Orton/Taker would be better! However, I don't see how the lead up would work, unless Orton kinda turned heel and called out Taker!? and as far as I know Taker doesnt wanna do a tag match (Remember WM19??) at WM! Only thing is Taker would "have to" win!

Yeah I don't see how they would set up the Orton v Taker match.
Lee, want to come down Oxford some time. I might get Bolding up from London.

It's a win-win situation:
Taker gets to keep his winning streak, and Orton gets squashed by someone who's not Triple H, so Hunter looks good.
Meanwhile, Orton is relagated to "buried" status, like every other promising superstar...
