I just saw it & I gotta say...bleh. Not very good at all. Except for a few good special effects, it lacks heavily. The plot is rubbishness and Kate Beckinsdale & Scott Speedman have zero chemistry romantically & otherwise.

I'd avoid seeing it at all costs.

I wouldn't say it was a great movie or anything, but it was tolerable. They totally ruined anything they had going by the ridiculous death scene at the end though.

One of my buddies loved the movie so much that once it came out on DVD he broke down and finally bought a DVD player. I thought the show was ... ok. Looks like a sequel would be good.

I wouldn't say avoid it at any cost.

It wasn't horrible. It had its moments. I really wish I had waited til it came out on DVD though, so I coulda rented it for 3 bucks instead of spending like 30 bucks at the movie theater for it.

The End was cool, too, but it had too many Shades of Matrix: Reloaded. It seemed like they figured that if they spent 5 seconds on a plot twist, they could sucker gullible fu</>cks into buing the next one.

This is another one of those movies where, once the commercial came on, I had to check which channel I had left my TV on to make sure I wasn't watching a "Saturday Night Live" or "MadTV" rerun. "Torque" is the most recent of that genre. Yes, it's a genre now.

Kate Beckinsdale is hot, yes, but...come on! She's a vampire...fighting werewolves! In the future! In leather!

How movies like these get #1 at the box office and movies like "Lost in Translation" and "Far From Heaven" get stuck in art-house theaters is beyond me.

I really enjoyed the movie. It's hard to find a good movie using the classic monster idea's. I like how it went a little deeper into the vampire / werewolf mythology. Which is one of the reasons I liked it... it was different.

In nearly every werewolf movie it starts out with "Who's the werewolf?" and that's just getting old. The Vampire thing is always about a group of vampires and the main character finding out how to destroy vampires... as if they wouldn't know by now. With the exception of the Blade movies, it's been a while since I saw a Vampire flick and felt a little different.

There were also a bit of plot twists that had me pretty interested. Action is always good... and yes Kate Beckinsale was damn sexy in the movie.

I'd buy the DVD, but WWE tickets went on sale today adn Freddy vs Jason comes out Tuesday.

Here we go again, with Kane Knight being a smart ass, babified bitch about somebody's outlook on something as simple as a movie.

Simple. The movie was very simple.

I'm sorry, I forgot that you're the only one entitled to a contradictory opinion. If someone else disagrees, you get to cry like a baby free. :y:

Who said the movie was complicated? I didn't say it was a huge philosophical depth with this amazing back story. I said it's deeper with mythology than your average werewolf / vampire films. Maybe it's just the one's I've seen... I don't know.

Most of the movies I've seen use the idea of these 2, but don't really say much. Silver Bullet for example. Now although Underworld was a simple movie you're going to tell me that a movie like Silver Bullet has as much story depth as a movie like Underworld?

Never watched Silver Bullet. How could I possibly know that?

B ut basically, what I get is that you like this movie because it's deeper than a B-movie.

Wow.

Awesome.

On that note, I'm a fan of the Indiana Jones movies because they're written just a tad deeper than they would be if they were written by a 14 year old retarded kid (likely you). :y: Good reasoning.

Silver Bullet is a Stephen King flick from the 80's. Back then I don't think Stephen King flicks were B movies. Shit "Christine" is a pretty damn popular horror movie and it's about a god damn car. Just another Stephen King 80's hit. I guess this would make "It" a B movie too?

Yeah, nobody liked "It" or anything. Your argument here is pointless. Underworld is one of the few Werewolf / Vampire films that takes "real" Vampire / Werewolf mythology and throws it into a movie. Which I think is interesting.

They even had that special where the guys who thought they were werewolves and vampires told some of the story that Underworld actually used. That guy was like "Hey I had fangs implanted, and I get a boner during the full moon... I'm a werewolf yaaaayyyy..." But these guys are so obsessed they sit around all day and read stupid shit. Kinda like yourself.

See you tend to get upset because I'm not changing my opinion. My taste in movies, music, celebrities, girls, etc... almost seems to OFFEND you. Which is great. You seem to want to change my opinion, which just isn't going to happen. I don't want you to change your opinion, I just want you to get your God damn head out of my ass. But then again, after that post I read in the Wrestling forum, that's unlikely to happen. Since you obviously enjoy sticking things up guys asses.

Stephen King is a watered down hack. Most of his movies ARE b movies, just popular ones.

But I don't get you to understand that. You seem to think you're the victim in the wrestling forum, despite the fact that you're the one who brought your little axe to grind in there and decided to stir some shit.

Considering your penchant for riding asses, I'd suggest you come out of the closet.

But seriously thought what kind of dumb shit gets all moody over somebody's opinion on a movie? Not only that but you're the most blind son of a bitch I've ever talked to in anyway with the things you say to people.

Talking about how people won't let go of what they think and they think they're always right... dude, that's what you're KNOWN for here... by just about everyone.

Then the whole "riding asses" thing you just posted. You're the type of guy that will ride somebodies ass up until the post gets into the upper hundreds for saying jelly is better than peanut butter.

And laslty... when did I give any indication I'm a victim in the wrestling forum? I went in there, threw some cheap insults and made an arguement for the Hart family. You are dillusional.

Underworld was a decent action/vampire/werewolf film but no way did it incorpate "real" vampire mythology. For one it's kinda hard to find real vampire mythology anyways because it varries in practically every movie, book, etc... Same with Werewolves and really I doubt that "real" vampire mythology involves mostly hand guns with special Vampire killing bullets.

Kane Knight

Who got all moody? This is coming from a guy who's queer enough to whine about not being tops on a WRESTLING board (You know, sweaty homoerotic action) where the primary talk is about penises and masturbation. Yet you gay bash at the same time? That's pretty funny.

If you think I'm gonna get out of shape because you think everything is deep, you seriously need a reality check. Not everyone gets mopey when they're disrespected on this board.

Apparently, just you and splaya.

Not only that, but it's exceedingly shallow to simply cop out to the concept of an insta-kill style bullet.

It dumbs down and attempts to oversimplify the werewolf and vampire mythos with quasi science you'll only find in a pure action movie.

Honestly, I don't get the need to insert depth into your liking of an action flick. There usually is none, or it's grade school philosophy, but that's not the point of an action movie. The point is to kick ass. Underworld was very much in this vein: Shallow, fast pace, ass-kicking with little to do with any actual vampire mythos (Except for bits and pieces borrowed from White Wolf--Hardly the authorrity on real vampires, since they go about explaining why every mythos is wrong...).

I'll tell you what... since nobody else know's what they're talking about here since Lara and Kane.. how about you two open up your own critic TV show?

Seriously... I'd watch.

Like Siskel and Ebert. You could call it.. "Burt and Hermie"... get it? It sounds like Bert and Ernie. But hey, I'm out before I start a huge arguement about Sesame Street.

Eh. It looked horrible in the previews anyway. My friend tells me it's great, or at least better than X-2. In which I told him the movie was most likely shit then if he said that. Meh, not gonna give the dollar to watch some Vampire meets Matrix like movie..

Don't worry. It'll be everywhere soon enough.

It's not that bad, if you don't mind plot incongruities and blatant holes. If you want a pretty linear action flick of a mindless nature, it's a good way to go. At least you don't have to put up with the faux-philosophy of the Matrix.
