It has recently been reported that arcade ports of tekken 1, 2, and 3 will be included in the PS2 tekken 5. None of the extras from the PS versions of those games will be included, but it's still a sweet deal.

Tekken didn't evolve so much that something like that would matter, but hey; no bother complaining. The Tekken Force mode looks nice, and the character customizing's gonna get me dressing and undressing my fighters like a Barbie obsessed preteen. Office suits for everybody!

Oh yeah, I forgot, there's also a mode where you play as jin and fight a bunch of enemies. The more you fight the more this "devil gauge" fills up till you transform into devil jin. There are additional costumes in the console version as well as some mini-game called starblazer that you play during the load screen.

The site is called Magic Box. I would give you a link, but I'm lazy and don't feel like finding it. You understand.

I only have Tekken 4 at the moment, and it remains the only one I've played. So if I buy Tekken 5, then it means I've got the whole series (except for Tag) on my PS2? Sounds like a good deal to me, and it's a good angle for the people who have only become introduced to Tekken via the PS2.

I would actually like to see other series follow this lead and put earlier installments of their games onto the disc of a new generation game. MK1, MK2, MK3 and MK4 onto MK: Shaolin Monks for example.

the collector's edition of mk: deception came with the original mortal kombat.

Yea, it's cool except that Tekken Tag is the best one :p You'll also be missing out on some cool stuff due to the games being the arcade version instead of the console versions. All the extra stuff in Tekken 3 was awesome.

A note to some of you:

Tekken 5 will be closer to T3 in gameplay than Part 4, so if don't want "Sequel Shock", I suggest you pull out Tekken Tag.

Yea, I was relieved when I first heard that. I'm a huge Tekken fan, but Tekken 4 sucked.

absolutely. It lost the whole feel of the first 3. the only people that really made the transition well from my tekken 3 /tag circle were Ogre users, as he was a sidestepping machine in those games as well.

:wtf:

Go and buy tekken 5 and play 1, 2, and 3, and then 5. After doing so you will be able to appreciate how far the series has come.
