So we all know that the Draft Lottery is approaching. Last year we saw the break up of three tag teams, which only led to one of those wrestlers actually making a impact (Shelton Benjamin). We also saw some fairly popular wrestlers switch brands (Edge, Booker T, RVD, The Dudleys). Who will switch brands this year? We do not yet know for sure, but I have compiled a list of 5 wrestlers from each brand who could greatly benefit from a brand switch.
RAW:
1. Maven - For years Maven has wondered around the injured list and Heat, then late last year he finally started to get a major push. Rumors were flying that he was going to turn heel and join Evolution, he did turn heel but never joined Evolution. During his run as a heel he has shown brilliance on the mic, he even had an IC title match at New Year's Revolution. From that match on, he has been booked to look like a joke. If he were to move to Smackdown he could rejuvenate his heel run and could be a major player in the U.S. title hunt (even holding the title). On Raw he would be lost in the shuffle, but on Smackdown he could use the opportunity to finally break through.
2. Randy Orton - After the booking team premature ejaculated Orton's face turn, Orton has been floundering. Although he's been pushed as hard as possible, the fans haven't taken in Orton has a face like the WWE had hoped. Rumors are he will turn heel and face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Well if he does turn heel, why not move him to Smackdown? The Smackdown heel side is thin and could really use a heel Orton on Smackdown. Just think of the possiblity of a Guerrero/Orton feud. And then they could slowly build to an Orton/Cena Wrestlemania 22 match. Orton could be the TOP heel on Smackdown, because on Raw he'd be second in line to Hunter.
3. Simon Dean - When he first appeared on Raw, he was pushed alot and he was over. After a while they just stopped pushing Dean and has now turned into a de facto jobber (ala Steven Richards). A move to Smackdown would help him by letting him wrestle with other cruiserweights, now I'm not sure if he is out of cruiserweight weight right now, but with his gimmick he could pull a Matt Hardy by trying to drop weight on camera. I think a Dean/London feud after Mania would be awesome. Maybe they can build up by having Dean make fun of a fat woman in the crowd which turns out to be London's "mom" or something.
4. Christian - Last year he was so fucking over that they could've put the World Title on him and he wouldn't look like a joke. Now, he is stuck with nothing to do. They could've moved his feud with Orton all the way to Mania instead of blowing their load on it after a couple of weeks. Now in order for Captain Charisma to even wrestle at Mania, they are going to have to throw him into a match. A move to Smackdown would instantly move him into Upper Midcard status. He could have a nice, long run as United States Champion and they could build him towards a WWE Title match against John Cena at like Summerslam or the Survivor Series. He's got the talent and Smackdown could use a lot of it.
5. The Hurricane - This has been said before, but I'll say it again. Move him to Smackdown, ditch the super hero gimmick, let him wrestle as Shane Helms in the cruiserweight, and even let him reform his tag team with Shannon Moore. Oh and then can Rosey, flush him down the toilet like a true piece of S.H.I.T.
Smackdown!:
1. Hardcore Holly - Goodbye Smackdown, Hello Sunday Night Heat.
2. Heindrenreich - Yeah he may be as green as the Jolly Green Giant, but move him to Raw and let him continue his stuff with Snitsky. They have good chemistry together and they could be a major force in a non exsistent tag team division. Let them run over every makeshift tag team and then slowly build up another monster tag team to face them down the road.
3. Scotty 2 Hotty - See Holly, Hardcore.
4. The Big Show - Move him to Raw, turn him heel, can we say Big Show vs. Batista?
5. Kenzo Suzuki - Have him feud with Tajiri or something. *shrugs*
I just feel like Smackdown needs to get more talent. Then they can have Teddy Long gloat about how Smackdown had a great draft, etc.
