View Full Version : NBA trade deadline talk.
Putting all the other trades aside. Let me see if i got this striaght. All it would take to get a player of Baron Davis's caliber is Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis? Are you shitting me. Indiana could of gave the Warriors 2 starters for him and they would have been better off. ( Not that i'm unhappy with Jamal Tinsley ) I cant believe the trades that are being made. Chris Webber is worth 3 scrubs. I would have atleast gotten Kyle Korver or there center ,who i cant pronounce his name , out of the deal.
I'm just shocked how top teir players in sports are getting traded for literally nothing. If this is because of the Salary cap then the NBA definetly have a problem.
The Knicks are gunna be good. Malik Rose is a really good player and Taylor.. i dunno bout him yet. They didnt give up hardly anything to get those 2 and some picks.

Speedy Claxton is pretty sexy. DON'T SHIT ON HIM.
The fucking Knicks are retarded. They traded away their starting center Nazr Mohammed and their backup PG for fucking Malik Rose who has a huge contract. And traded Vin Baker for some other dickhead with a huge contract. Fucking retarded.
"Once again, team president Isiah Thomas is willing to take back huge contracts to get more talent. In the Spurs deal, the Knicks are sending back $5.5 million in future salaries for the remaining four years, $27.3 million of Rose's contract.
In the Rockets deal, Thomas is sending back $8 million in future salaries and getting back $18 million in return. In total, the Knicks, who have the largest payroll in the league, will add an extra $32 million in future salaries."

THE KNICKS HAVE NO CENTER NOW. Nobody.
THEIR TALLEST PLAYER NOW IS TIM THOMAS, WHO IS THEIR SMALL FORWARD AT 6'10.
Bruno Sundov doesn't count because he is white.
Ok your right. But Speedy claxton and Dale Davis is no where near net worth of Baron Davis. Hornets got played.
Dont get me started on Thomas. I hated him when he was coach here in Indiana. I hate him now. He's always lacked decent judgment and brains.

Baron Davis got traded for Claxton officially? I didn't see anything about it.
On yahoo. He was traded for Claxton and Dale Davis.

Gay. Claxton will probably suck on the Hornets. Got him on my fantasy team.
Antoine Walker was traded to the Celtics for Gary Payton and a couple other scrubs. Good trade for the Celtics until Ainge gets sick of Walker again and decides to trade him. In fact this could put the Celtics in the playoffs this year.

I'm not sure how much I like that trade for the Celtics. A. Raef Lafrenz is on my fantasy team and B Gary Payton was doing pretty solid.
The deadline sucked. I can't believe the Wolves didn't make a trade, now we are stuck with Cassell and Spree

glad to see that my Jazz stayed the same. Considering they have no guards.

Fuck, I really wanted to see the Raptors make a move and get some more picks.
And the Payton move makes me pretty sick, its just a slap in the face to one of the best point guards ever.

He didn't even want to be in Boston anyways
Payton let me down when he tried to jump on the Lakers bandwagon and win a title the easy way. He isn't going to report to Atlanta, so they will cut him. He can then sign with any team he wants. Atleast thats what I am hearing

Celtics are my favorite ball team and I hope the readdition of Walker puts them in the Playoffs this year.

Maybe he did start to like it I'm not sure. I do remember him almost not showing up for camp because he was pissed he was traded from the Lakers. I had no problems with Gary Payton but Celtics are moving in a new direction now - their 3 draft picks all look very promising so hopefully that works out. Will be intresting to see Walker back in Boston.

I don't like Walker back in Boston for some reason, but I guess you could make the case that last time he was there they were #2 in the East and making the Conference Finals

I don't know why they got rid of him honestly. They weren't that far off from winning it all really. They beat the Pistons that year, then 2 years later the Pistons went on to winning the NBA Championship. Not saying the Celtics were going to win it all or anything but it was pretty stupid to watch them play like a .500 team for a few years knowing they were going to get swept in the playoffs. That one year where they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals was pretty sick.

Not at all, have you even watched one Celtics game this year? Delonte West started at the point with Marcus Banks coming off the bench. Walker was playing Power Foward for most of the night, while switching to the 3 a few times due to Pierce being in foul trouble. Walker probably brought the ball up 2 or 3 times, and everytime he did it was to create a fast break. He never brought it up then set up the offense like a point guard does.
Barely took any 3's, hardly brought the ball up. Celtics have a new style now, its not the same as it was he was here last time. 24 and 10 for Walker last night..I like it.

Yea I started watching them a lot more recently. Now with the trade getting Walker back I'm even more into it. Gonna be tough to watch a Boston sports team not win it all for once though
