OMFG

Bad News first: A.I. is terrible. They still drive on the best line possible. They have no reflexes to your surroundings. No online mode. 6 cars max (for the fourth time)

Good news: The graphics are fucking incredible. Impressive soundtrack. 7 zillion cars. 1 zillion courses.

Gonna go play it right now.

Only complaint I've heard is the inability to try out cars you buy without saving it. So if you end up buying a car that you suck at controlling you're stuck with it. Well you could still sell it, but you know. I'll be picking up my copy tomorrow, hope it doesn't disappoint.

Just a little troubleshooting, we've had 4 games returned as defects due to graphical glitches. So, yeah, watch out for that.

The Nurburgring track is AMAZING

Kinda of reminds me of the Complex String track from GT3, but damn is it so much cooler (and real).

I played GT4 for a few hours at my friend's house and I must say that it blows GT3 out of the water :y:

I've got the graphics glitch, and it's not all that bad. (the screen shakes a bit like you're going over bumps in the road at certain points...)

Some other complaints: 1: The A-spec points system sucks. I assumed that the more points possible meant that the challenge was greater, yet it seems completely random. In a 120 point race, I'll have a bit of a challenge and will still win the race. Yet when I'm in a 50 point race, by the time I get to the 2nd place spot, the guy in first will be half a lap ahead of me.

2: The AI is indeed terrible. Your opponents don't seem to care whether or not they tear the shit out of their own car to push you out of the way to take the best line. One race a guy literally shoved into me and spun me about like he was Dale Sr. on his WORST day.

3: Despite having a zillion cars, I don't necessarily want to spend my time driving around a Nissan Midget with a whole 30 hp. They could have at least have added a few more American cars...I know Detroit isn't the best place in the world for cars, but come on! Chevrolet only has like 5 models to choose from, same with Ford and Dodge, and most of them aren't even up to date! (2000 Corvette, anyone?) The Japanese markets are full to the brim with crap I've never even seen or heard of.

One thing I do love, is the fact that you get a shit ton of cars to choose from in multiplayer. I was over at DS's house when he first got it, and it was sweet... I'd say over a hundred and fifty at least.

Many more modifications to do to the cars?

I've been playing through the GT mode and I'm still pretty early into it. I really enjoy these games when I get to the fast cars and the high licenses and stuff, but in GT4 I'm like bored to tears trying to work my way up there.

This game has the same lack of speed feel that the last one did. I can be going like 150mph and only feel like I'm going 50 or 60mph. Also, for as realistic as the game is supposed to be, I think it's ridiculous that you can't accelerate in the grass.

I agree with the grass thing but i completely disagree with the feel of speed.

The '90 Lotus Carlton makes up for the lack of a Corsa, IMO.

and the Volvo 240 Estate is proof that Gran Turismo 3 should have been skipped. This game has all the cars I missed from GT2...

Anybody tried those 24 Hour Endurance races yet?

Im waiting for when i actually have time to do them.

Do they really expect you to sit at your PS2 for a Whole day Doing 1 race?

Even in B Spec it would take you 10-12 Hours.

If you could save it and try again later that would make more sence.

el fregadero

Yeah, the main reason I haven't done them is because I don't have the time or desire to spend 24 straight hours on the PS2.

I guess you could pause it and sleep then play when you wake up, but that can't be good for your PS2.

It's good fun.
If you want an easy $260,000. Go into the rallys and do the second 1 down, win both races and you get a toyota raid car worth heaps.

Get a decent car, mitsi lancer evo's and Nissan Skyline GTR's are a good start, both 4wd etc.
Do what I said earlier for $$$
Brake upgrades and Suspension are important. a slighly higher spring rate and lowering the car will improve cornering.
Remember to brake early, overbraking is better than underbraking that's for sure.

Did they finally put in the 1995 Cobra R into the game? They have the 2000 one in every fucking game with that godforsaken 5.4 modular v8 that doesnt have half the potential as the 5.8 OHV engine in the 95 R. Are engine swaps available?
