View Full Version : Wrestlers We've Met (+ my experience at RAW)

Well before RAW last night I met Molly Holly, The Fink, and Rhyno. They all signed autographs, and seemed to be nice people. Both Molly and Rhyno were kind of soft-spoken, and seemed really humble. Molly is MUCH prettier in person than she is on tv, and also looks much thinner. Some kid in the crowd tried to impersonate The Fink, and Finkle was like, "not quite" but then a friendly smile and chuckle. Really cool time. When I met Rhyno, I thanked him several times and told him he was one of the few that came over to the fans. He said "no problem" and said something like, "hey we need you guys, you know?" That was fucking awesome.

Now, when Kane drove in, he rolled down his car window to talk to one of the security people. We were all calling his name and he didn't even look at us. Chris Jericho came over and signed only a couple of autographs, then said he had to go. The Coach did the same as well, though I think he signed more than Jericho. Ricky Steamboat, Arn Anderson, and Dean Malenko rode in together, and about 15 young guys ran up to them. If they hadn't had done that, they probably would have signed. They said they couldn't, because they had a meeting, but I wonder if that was true.

Who else? Oh, Dave, Earl, and Brian Hebner. None of them looked at the fans, so then a whole bunch of people chanted YOU SCREWED BRET. Yeah, like that will get us autographs. Are people THAT stupid?

Benoit came in with Tomko, and Benoit waved to the fans. That was it for them.

Shawn Michaels had a driver, but they flew past all the fans and went directly into the building.

I'm probably forgetting things, but if I am I'll add them later.

All I can say is, if you're standing outside an arena waiting to meet the wrestlers, get there early (they started coming around 10), and DON'T charge toward them like you're some kind of savage animal. I mean, there were fans running up to cars, and when the guys didn't sign the people were pissed. It was their own fault! Yeah, it's fine to call them over and stuff, but if you start to charge toward them they're NOT going to come. Trust me on that.

Oh yeah, Simon Dean stayed in character (refusing to sign autographs) and Shelton Benjamin's a PRICK.

Shelton probably was having a bad day, he's normally a nice guy.

Shelton Benjamin's a PRICK.

Wouldn't you be a prick as well if you were told you'd still be wrestling Gene Snitsky for the 3rd week in a row?

Shelton Benjamin's a PRICK.

Simon Dean stayed in character? So did he try to sell any Simon System or anything like that?

10 a.m right? Do you meet all these wrestlers like outside the building? Cause they might get swarmed by all the fans outside. It would be funny if like HBK was surrounded by dozens of fans with HBK in the middle and then Rhyno came and Gore'd everyone instead of getting security to seperate them.

What would happen if someone yelled "You didnt screw Bret" or "You forgot to screw Bret" at Earl?

People get called pricks all the time all cuz at one show they dont really treat with the fans. Big deal. Not sure where you guys were standing, but I know for one it was snowing heavily last night, and was probably pretty cold..if I'm a wrestler, I'm not stepping out to sign anything, and not just that but when you sign a few, it's like you have to sign for everyone. It's tiresome, you need your own time. What is the point of an autograph anyways? I'm happy with a handshake. Or even a gesture like a nod or something.

Shelton may have been in need of the bathroom very badly.

It wasn't last night that I saw him, it was yesterday morning. It hadn't started snowing yet. And yeah, maybe he was busy or whatever, but he couldn't have waved or nodded or something??? That's kinda bullshit.

I met Kevin Nash at Target in like 95, met ReyRey at a card show years ago, got an auto pic (from WCW), DDP was there too, but I missed out on him :(

Then I met Taka and Funaki when I went to a RAW show, they were running around the building like crazy fucks. At SummerSlam 03, I got close to meeting Al Snow, but no dice :(

Not suprised with that stuff about Rhyno. From what I have gathered from other fans and wrestlers, he's like the nicest guy you will ever meet in your life. Real cool him saying that.

lol, Sheldon's a prick because he didn't wave. No offense, but why does he have too? I never understand the whole fasination with "meeting" celebrities (calling wrestlers celebs for now) and ahving to get thier autographs and shaking their hands. They're are just ordinary people, just like you and me. Maybe he was sick, maybe he just didn't feel like being bothered. Just because we see them on TV every week doesn't mean they got to act all cheery and nice all the time for everyone.

Bret Hart, Michael Modest, Barry Darsow, and Road Warrior Hawk. Modest, Darsow and Hawk I met at an indy show some years back. Bret I met at an autograph signing at a furniture store back in '97. Got to talk to him for an extended period of time. It was awesome.

I had met nobody until 3 months ago. But in 3 months now, I have met Batista, Matt Hardy, Hillbilly Jim, and just this past Saturday Kurt freakin Angle. All have been cool. Angle was probably the friendliest, Batista was nice but real quiet. And I met Matt at a mall signing, so he was probably tired for signing for an hour by the time I got to him, but still took time to talk.

Met Triple H and Chyna together. I was at La Ronde in Montreal, around 1999. Me and my friend did some rollercoasters, then we wanted to go to the Megadome Nintendo. When we got there, the security guard said it was closed because WWF superstars were signing autographs.

We got in line, and met Triple H and Chyna. They were nice.

I've had quite a few interaction with wrestlers at shows, most notably me harassing Brock while he was on the apron, him turning around, looking right at me and yelling "FUCK YOU" and me yelling back "FUCK YOU TOO". Good times.
