Feeling a little nostalgic after watching some old tapes yesterday so was just curious to know what peoples earliest memory of wrestling was

Mid 2002, I turned the TV on, it was on a sports channel, RAW was on, didnt even know what it was. Benoit was crossfacing Bubba Ray Dudley to death, not stopping even after the match ended. I started watching a bit later.

Mine was matching Wrestlemania 9 with my dad as a wee nipper

my biggest memory of that was Bret losing the title.

Surely your biggest memory of WM 9 should be Hogan triumphantly beating yokozuna to finish the event

:D

After mania 9 the next ppv i watched live was Fully loaded '99, i still love that ppv just because it was the end of an era in terms of vince Vs austin (for a while) and the beginning of one for me.

"Somebodys gonna bleed, Somebody's gonna leave"

Excuse me i have something in my eye.........

So Karlberg (if that is your real name)

What your earliest wrestling memory

Probably something to do with Hogan

Ummmm my first memory (which made me a 123 kid/X-Pac fan) was when 123 Kid and Razor Ramon lost a tag match for the titles. Then in the locker room you seen them argueing. That is why I started watching wrestling because that match was amazing to me atm. And yes I am still a X-Pac fan.

Earliest I can remember was Survivor Series 91, but I must of seen before because I knew what was happening ;D

Jake The Snake's snake was sucking on Macho's arm ;).. interestingly enough it was on sky movies.! Weird.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the end of the Undertaker vs Hogan match as I had to go bed :(.

This goes back way old school, to the NWA days, but my first memory is of the Four Horsemen beating up Dusty Rhodes and throwing him through a limosine window in like the mid to late 80's. That's the first one I can think of anyway.

Not as weird as the wwe being on channel 4 and then they realised that the show contained violence.

Did they even watch it before they bought it, what did they expect!?!

They allow shows like brass eye to be shown though, during prime time.

Sorry, old wounds, im just bitter

I remember going to school the next day and hearing everyone talking about it, at the time it was a bit over my head, but when i got into wrestling more i actually watched the ppv and i just felt numb. I watched the tributes the next night on raw and thats when i was reduced to tears.

People say alot of bad things about wrestlers personally but most i what i saw on that raw was genuine and very moving.

My first moment was a WWF Magazine featuring The Hart Foundation. First video moment, Earthquake destroying Hogan on the Brother Love Show I believe it was on. For some reason, I became an Earthquake fan.

As far as stopping the show after Owen's accident, people were pissed that it kept going, but on the other hand people would have been pissed if it stopped.

Earliest memory? Taker vs Kane Inferno match Unforgiven 1998. LMAO at Paul Bearer getting a drum stuffed on his head. Just channel hopping and it was on.

Worst memory? Owen. I came downstairs and my mum said "that wrestler in blue's died". My first thought was "Shamrock?" But then it came on GMTV news saying it was Owen. It showed footage of JR from the event explaining what had happened, then Vince in a press conference. I ran upstairs and told my brother.

Later that day I was on a field trip and we came across a canadian in a WWF Attitude shirt. I asked him if he had heard what had happened. He hadn't. I told him. He couldn't beleive it.

Didn't even see Raw Is Owen.

RIP Owen. 6 years. Wrestling makes time fly.

-EDIT- WOOOOO! 100 posts!

my earliest memory was the one that got me watchin WWF.

Summer of '92 on WWF superstars. Berzerker was beatin up on Undertaker with the shield and sword. He laid Undertaker down, he lifted his sowrd and drove it down. Undertaker rolled out of the way and the sword was left in the ring. And they showed a still of the sword stuck in the ring. After that I was hooked on WWF and hooked on Taker.

I woulda stopped the show.

Anyways.... earliest memory.

I remember flashes here and there...and I remember wrestling being on when I was a kid...

However... the only really specific memory I can think of is when Papa Shango made Warrior puke. I didn't watch wrestling then really, but someone else was watching it and I saw it and I was just like "Ew" and I was all scared and stuff. :shifty:

My earliest memory isn't anythign specific. I think it might have been a Hacksaw Jim Duggan match in the late 80's, watching it with my dad. He got me into it very, very early. I must've been, like, 10 years old. I've been watching it nonstop ever since except for two short periods (late 96/early 97, and late 03/early 04).
