From Wrestlezone...
Spike TV announced today in a press release that they have closed negotiations with WWE about renewing a deal.
We are now under the assumption that RAW, Heat, Velocity and Experience will be moving to the USA network in September of this year.
"After several months of negotiations, we have decided to end our discussions about extending our relationship with WWE beyond September 2005," wrote Spike TV in a press release. "Moving forward, Spike TV will expand its investments in original programming and new acquisitions for its core audience."
USA appears to be the only major cable option for Raw, as TNT, TBS and FX have all confirmed no negotiations.
As we noted the other day here on the site, Linda and Shane McMahon were spotted at NBC Universal offices in Rockefeller Center several days ago. We have been told that a deal is done and locked with the USA network. Everything has apparently been worked out and an announcement should be expected soon.
More details as we get them.

The 15-18 year old audience? or will it become Star Trek all day long?

Also, does USA still have that tennis open every year? If so, that means Raw is fucked two weeks out of the year!

I don't really care either way. I don't watch either station except to watch Raw really.
Oh yeah, I catch 7 Days on Spike, but that hardly makes a diff.

I didn't mean competition wise...I meant fans are fucked two weeks b/c its the unusual programming for it. I remember it used to be on some random day, or start at 11 pm and barely anyone would watch it.
KaneKnight, yeah, neither do I...but I was saying from past history..the best of WWE's days was under USA...not like the network change is going to make much of a difference though..just coincidence.

trust me the nude shoots are nothing to watch. you see nothing.
but anyway WWE back on USA is awesome. There seems to be a bit more freedom when they are on there then on SPike TV.
also what in the blue world is spike gonna do with their big money maker gone? new reality series I suppose.

You know, we wouldn't be in this situation if we didn't have Hunter and company running the WWE like their own little ego masturbation playgruond.
So it'd serve them right. :D

Dammitttt. I dunno about this. At first I hated the move to Spike because the picture seemed a little fuzzy. But now, with the move back to USA, just three words keep going through my mind...

Maybe Spike TV will pick up another ''WRASSLIN" company
Funky Fly
03-11-2005, 08:19 AM
Pfffffffffffffft. Even if they pick up some indy fed or even TNA for that matter, there is next to no chance that they'll do well at all. Unless they secure the rights to one of the Japanese wrestling company's (or companies') tape library and dub the commentary and subtitle or dub the promos over in English.
That would be pretty kick ass. But it's a wet dream that will never happen because there is no way that many casual fans will be
1. interested in anything outside of the WWE
and
2. interested in totally different styles of wrestling (puroresu, hardcore on an ECW type level)

As long as it stays on Sky Sports, then everything will be fine and dandy like sour candy.

I completely agree. That's one of the things that annoyed me with RAW being on USA, that is was pre-empted for a freakin dog show! If they do that again, I'm gonna be pissed.
What Would Kevin Do?
