ESPN is reporting 5yrs 70mil.

He turned down an offer from the Mets, not sure what the figures were...

14mil a year for possible the 2nd best 5-tool player in the league..

Yeah, sure there's no market correction.

The Mets were offering a 3 year deal worth 30 mil. They had incentives to pull it out to 40 mil.
Vlad wants the long erm stuff, the stability. The Mets should have known that, it's been Vlads M.O. all along.
I'm just glad he didn't end up playing against the Jays or Expos IE Baltimore or Mets. Cause I love the guy and it woulda been hard to root against him.
I hope he puts up #'s thought impossible.

They were pretty stacked offensively already, yeah they are going to be heading back to the playoffs I'd say. Especially if their pitchimg rebounds from a sub par season last year.

2. Darin Erstad (1B)

Hmm, Im pretty sure that Erstad is a Center fielder and a GOLD GLOVE center fielder if Im not mistaken. Why the hell would you put him at first?

Word is he's going to play first, but yeah I say put Guillen there.

Mind you, things can change once the season starts.

Yeah, I was befuddled when I heard of Erstad moving to first and Anderson moving to center. I can see moving Anderson to center, but then why not just trade Erstad? Werent they trying to last year anyway?

Angels don't have a first baseman. Erstad can play the position. Hopefully, his offense will be like it was a couple of years ago, when he had that career year.

My bad on mixing up Guillen and Anderson's positions.

If Erstad can get 250 hits a season again in the lead off position watch out.

No pitching

But pretty surprised when I heard about this...I didn't even know the Angels were one of the teams after him..I think it was just NY Mets and Baltimore
