Yeah I'm a Tigers fan. Since we are going to have a Red Sox thread, I'm going to have a Tigers thread.

1) Jeremy Bonderman will win 15 games this year.
2) The Tigers will win the AL Central this year.
3) The Tigers will win 85 games this year.

Discuss

No, personized threads are only available to Boston, New York, and Minnesota teams.

I am actually a big Cleveland fan for some reason, not so much the Cav's, but I like the Indians and Browns a lot, and the Cav's aren't bad.

No they won't, the Tigers are just a few random names mixed in with nothings and young prospects, the Indians were awesome last year and now have Millwood to solidify their starting rotation.

The Tigers actually have a pretty good lineup.

Magglio really helps the outfield, and Rondell White (or Higginson, whoever starts in left) and Sanchez are solid players.

Their middle infield is solid, with Vina, Infante, and Guillen. Or Guillen can slide to third, opposite Pena.

Dmitri's a good DH, and Brandon Inge is maybe the best utility man in the game. He can play everywhere on the diamond, and play well.

Maroth and Bonderman are due for big years, and Percival will help them if they can hold a lead through seven.

I think winning the division is definitely a reasonable goal, because the AL Central is chock-full of TERRIBLE teams.

Detroit is looking better, but I just don't know if they're ready to be favourites in the Central yet.

He is easilly an upgrade on just about any team you put him on, even if he's not as good as he was a few years ago. That being said, in 2003 he was still real good, just because he had one bad year doesn't mean he's done.

That being said, look at how much faith you are putting into those Tiger pitchers, all they've proven is that they know how to lose 20 games in a season.

tigers have NO starting pitching. i live in windsor, so i hear detroit crap all the time. they'll finish behind minny and clevland.

Cleveland is SOOO underrated its unbelievable, the Tigers have like three big name players and not much more, the Indians were like the 2001 Twins last year, which means that if their young players put it together they could make a run for the playoffs. The Tigers will finish just over 500

i think the indians will overtake the twins next year. this year is too soon, i think. but they were the only team in baseball to have seven 70-RBI guys last year. casey blake is getting better. coco crisp and jody gerut will be very good. victor martinez is one of the best hitting catchers in baseball. travis hafner had an amazing season.

i think if their bullpen holds up, cleveland could win 85-90 games. westbrook/sabathia can hold the rotation together.

I agree with you that the Indians are going to be a very good team in a little more time, but I think both teams will be real good together for a while. The Indians have all their guys, but you can't discount Mauer, Morneau, Santana, Hunter, Bartlett, Kubel, Durbin, Craine, Nathan, all Twins guys who will be around for some time. Maybe an AL Central Wildcard! WHAT?!?!

OK, this is rediculous. When did the Tigers decide they have the right to be so damn cocky?

FIRST, earlier in the season Dmitri Young said something like

We don't have to worry about the Twins, the Central is between us and Cleveland
Are you kidding?

And now Pudge gets intentionally walked and decides that he has the right to talk all this shit? Who do you think you are Pudge, signing with a shitty team for the money, getting other similar players, having no chance of success, and talking shit? Come on, I used to respect him too.

They are just thugs. All they are is a bunch of overrated names: Ordonez, Guillen, Young, Rondell White. They have a losing record and are third in the central, and thats as good as they will ever be. I'm glad the Twins and even the White Sox are going to embarrass them.

Guillen is pretty good IMO. but the tigers rely WAAAAAAAYYYYY too much on Urbina and Percival. They pitch like every game
