Anyone else looking forward to this? The Iceman vs. the Natural

Randy Couture is awesome, but I want to see Chuck Liddell win.

I cant wait for it.....been watching there first fight to see what Liddell could do better to win it. I hope Liddell wins this one just so we can get the inevetiable Liddell Vs Couture 3 to find out who really is the true winner.

If Liddell can stay on his feet he's got a good shot of winning

I think Couture has his number. Liddell is a wicked fighter but as it was clearly shown on Ultimate Fighter a couple of shows back, Couture can read Liddell like a freaking marvel comic.

Couture has his number, I agree with Rob.

Haven't kept up with UFC for the last month or two. How is Tito Ortiz doing?

The Hunnington Beach Badboy has slipped some.

Good on him, I might add.

Simple.

If The Iceman Chuck Liddell is able to push away Couture's takedowns he'll strike Couture to death. But if you've seen the first match you'll know that Couture is the best take down merchant in the game, and is awesome and working the body and striking on the ground.

The winner will be whoever hits the first shot.

I like both but i'd like Liddell to win - he has balls.

Then I want him to bang up Ortiz again :D

Couture, for the lone fact that he is the man.

Takedown master. Made Ortiz his bitch therefore he is the man.

Nice cheap shots at the end when the guy was out.

Wasn't even the best match on the card. Hot overall card though.

yeah it was a quick fight, but the finish was crazy, like electric.

Trigg vs. Hughs :O

Those weren't cheap shots. You fight until the ref stops it. Last thing you want to do is stand back and let your opponent clear the cobwebs.

I also think thats the first time Randy got knocked out, I could be wrong though

Liddell - First shot winner.

Couture has been stopped before, I think by Rodriguez (in Tito's camp) who then got the shit beaten shit of him by Tim Sylvia :D

One reason why Couture is now Light Heavyweight

I dunno, I just find it hard to not realize the guy is out when the first few times you hit him after you deliver a killer punch he doesn't defend himself.

See: Ken Shamrock when he knocked Kimo out. He sat there and then barely even tapped him after he knocked him out.

Trigg vs. Hughes was the best fight I though.

Couture clearly took fingers in the eye and Liddell went right after them once the fight was restarted. I don't blame him but it's funny how Liddell has done it more than once now. There will definately be a Liddell vs. Couture III and hopefully a Liddell vs. Oritz II.

The Outlaw

Yeah, I was wondering how much the thumb/fingers to the eye weighed in with the conclusion. Pretty shitty way to win though. :-\

yeah I'd love to see Ortiz get his ass knocked out again

If the ref didn't disqualify, there's no reason to bitch.. Unless you're just trying to save face for picking Couture.. Which makes sense..

Not really. Infact, when I saw Liddell was 190+ in the pre fight odds, I was starting to side with him because the odds were too good for a guy of his quality in a one-on-one fight. Refs have done wrong in the UFC before and they'll do it again. I never blamed the ref, nor did I say the finger shot was deliberate. However, Liddell has done it in at least 2 other fights I can think of right now off the top of my head.

Speaking of UFC anybody remember that match back in the day between Shamrock and Grace (sp?) When Grace had him in the Grace guard for the full 30 minutes.

A fight is a fight, thumb to the eye, or no thumb to the eye. Lidell koed him this time, and he lost before, that's how fights go.

Rob
04-18-2005, 06:49 PM
Depends if the thumb to the eye is intentional. I don't know if it was. All I'm saying is that it happened more than once with Liddell and now Randy Couture has lost the light heavyweight title twice due to it.

Ol Dirty Dastard
04-18-2005, 07:33 PM
lol, next time that happens he should just bash the guy over the head with a chair and cut a promo.

I dunno though, if that happened to me I'd be so vexxed, but Couture is a man, and he'll take the loss like a man.
