The director for the next X-Men movie has been announced and all I can say is WTF?

Matthew Vaughn!

He's only directed one other film and that way Layer Cake which is a completly different genre, maybe you guys know something I don't but this doesn't make any sense to me, this guy, look at his CV:

Layer Cake (2004) (producer)
A Short Film About John Bolton (2003) (producer)
Swept Away (2002) (producer)
... aka Travolti dal destino (Italy)
Mean Machine (2001) (executive producer)
Snatch. (2000) (producer)
... aka Snatch: Pigs and Diamonds (International: English title)
"Lock, Stock..." (2000) TV Series (executive producer)

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) (producer)
... aka Two Smoking Barrels (USA)
The Innocent Sleep (1996) (producer)

So he's only really done anything envolving guy richtie films. Can someone please explain this to me

...Perhaps he came up with an idea the producers liked? Sounds a bit odd though

I heard a rumour Tarantino is doing it.

Actually I'm starting that rumour right now.

So the word is Quentin Tarantino has been signed up to direct X-MEN 3

Did you even read my post? He's only directed 1 film!

He was a producer for the rest of them

A film can have a zillion producers, doesn't affect the final product a whole lot.

Layer Cake wasn't bad but really, Vaughn and Ritchie are as bad as each other, all they can do is make mockney crime capers. Doesn't bode well.

Hopefully the reason he's doing it is because he's a fan of the comic. That's the only way it makes sense.

As long as they make another Xmen movie and do a great job of it I don't care.

It's gonna blow...none of the people who worked on X-men and X2 are onboard. The guys that are writing X3 also wrote

Inspector Gadget
XXX: State of the Union
Elektra

BLEH

Elektra

Yeah, I can see it now

Wolverine: Oi, Summers, where's your old lady? I fancy a bit of Oedipus Rex

Cyclops: She's up the apple and pears...don't you try anything or you'll be in right barney rubble

Wolverine: Don't make me laugh you raging Inspector Taggart, I'll 'ave you open wider than a brass flute's morris minor in seconds

Cyclops: Bring it on you merchant banker

Prof X: Enough. There will be no read and writing in this mansion. Now, summon everyone to the danger room; Magneto has kidnapped the president, which has daffy ducked our plans to discuss the mutant registration act up no end.

Yeah, I don't understand what a "special guest director" is.

He chose to direct Superman instead.

He should have stuck with the X-Men series, the new Superman movie sounds kinda iffy.

Special Guest Director: It means that Tarantino can make his usual shitty ass movie, but it looks like Miller has some sort of creative control in terms of the director's chair.

Least, I hope to God this isn't the best Miller can do.

Yea..I agree with KK on this one. If Tarantino ever got close to any Xmen movie I think I would have to crap myself. I dont understand why everyone thinks he is so amazing anyway, most of the films he did were below par.

Tarantino is only doing one scene of the movie.
It was a deal he made with Rodriguez in the Kill Bill films, where Rodriguez directed a scene for $1. So Tarantino is doing the same for Sin City.
Have you seen Sin City yet?

It's probably because his wife is Claudia Schiffer.

Rodriguez didn't direct a scene in Kill Bill for 1$, he wrote some of the musical score for the 1$
