Yes or no. Do you see the novelty wearing off anytime soon? Sure he'll hold the title for a decent while, but then it's going back on Triple H. Then Batista will probably go back to the midcards again. Agree or disagree?

I've been thinking about that a lot, actually. If they use him as a Goldberg type thing, then prob not.

Crappy powerbomb? The Demon Bomb is the best sit-down powerbomb in the business right now, IMO.
I'm not sure what to think. On one hand, Batista was handpicked by the fans due to how good he was at delivering lines, and probably because of the presence he carried. I think if he keeps up the tough but colleced character, he will be a huge success. I still think that him kicking Triple H's ass and throwing him through a window on RAW would solidify him as the top face.
But I can easily see Batista becomming stale and repetitive. Next week in the face-off, I hope they have Batista cut a promo about how if he loses, he will go back to being Triple H and Ric Flair's Animal of Evolution. Have him paint the match as a competition to see who the better man is, and to see if Batista really is a smarter, stronger and overall better version of Triple H.
So then at WrestleMania, a squash victory over Triple H would probably be one of the greatest wins of the decade.

I do indeed think he is the flavour of the month. I can't see him lasting long.
He'll end up kinda like Eugene. Main event stuff with HHH for a bit and then down to a popular mid carder.

Batista will probably rise and fall like Chris Benoit's run last year.
But the Batista Bomb is SICKKKKKKK

Hogans leg drop then yes. A regular leg drop then no.
Yeah I think the fans cared so much because he was turning, and fans will always cheer for someone that is turning against the top heel in the company (unless they do a really terrible job). Mind you, Batista has been really good, but yeah the novelty will wear off eventually because I don't think they can keep him a monster forever.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know how long Batista will have run at the top unless his character develops more.
If he's pushed as a monster he will stay over, regardless if he's feuding with HHH.
If he's watered down, held down by HHH, or put in ridiculous angles he will plummet.
Batista on HEAT in 2 months. Mark my words.

Don't compare Batista to Benoit. Batista is definately a flavor of the month and he'll be in Orton's shoes soon enough. Benoit on the other hand has plenty more championships ahead of him, I think. It just takes a writer who is willing to stray from the current product for five minutes. Sadly, we're probably going to see a rehashed Evolution come back and we're gonna get sick of it REAL QUICK.

Much as I wish I could agree with you, Tuscon, I don't think it's gonna happen. Benoit is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, he got over huge, and imo few people in the industry deserve the Title more than him. But he was booked weakly during his entire run, because God knows Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels part 79 was much more important than the World Champion. And now that his "Triple H never beat me" streak is over, there's nothing else that sets him apart from the pack of guys that Hunter kept from succeeding.
As for Batista, I don't see much of a future for him. Sure, he's talented for a hoss, but after the Triple H feud is over, there's really not much in the cards for him. If he goes over, there aren't any other main event heels for him to feud with, except for a rematch with Triple H. If Hunter wins, then he's thrown back into the pile with all the other guys who should have been more successful than H would let them.

Sad. What a Catch-22. If you're a face, you reach the main event, feud with HHH, and even if you win, that's it. Because there's no one else to feud with. So your profile gets dropped. If you're heel, there's no way you can reach the main event. Cuz HHH is the main event heel.
At least that's one thing SD! has over Raw: a more versatile main event that various people can break into.

That's what happened to Benoit once he lost the title.
My only regret to Batista's push is that Benoit had to job to HHH to make him look strong for Mania.

I agree, and it's part of what's bad for business. The glass ceiling is more obvious for heels, because you're not going to get up to Triple H's level. If you are a face, you could be undefeated, holding the WHT, IC, and Tag Team champ, eat a Snickers, become the biggest and most over face in the business, and unless you're in a program with Triple H, your WHT match will be below Triple H's main event.
I disagree with Smackdown! Though. There's the potential for more variety, but they don't have many people near Main event status right now, mostly because people like Eddie go from main eventing with a title to opening the show as a tag team partner. The focal heels all reek of jobberdom, except for any minor rub they get for being in JBL's "cabinet." The secretaries of suck and minister of medicority have nothing to speak for themselves, and Angle never seems to get into the main event in any serious fashion anymore.
Who does that leave? Cena, who is mad over, and maybe Big Show, for being a hoss. There's more potential for movement, but also fewer people worth moving towards the title (Or that have been moved, because Eddie's definitely worth the main event scene).

When was he on Heat?
Don't mind me if he really was, I rarely watch Heat.

I'm not sure if Batista will be another Goldberg or another Sid.
That promo Batista cut on RAW a couple weeks back made me think if he is pushed to talk a lot, he will fail very quickly. However, if they just have him kick ass all the time, he'll stay over.
The other problem is that there's virtually no way HHH will do what is necessary to get him over as a monster at Mania. Which is lose in 6 minutes. When people see Batista selling all match for HHH, a lot of the mystique will quickly fade, and all you'll have left is another big dude who cant cut a decent promo.
I hope he stays over, but I know how the WWE thinks, and I think its more likely he is doomed for failure.

Yeah HHH thinks he is Flair and is gonna try carry Batista for 30 minutes.
Batista is good when he works for 5 minutes, and there's no need for a longer match, due to it being over.
But HHH is an idiot and thinks he is the man, even though he can't carry anyone anymore.

I hope not
Okay, that's a bit TOO radical now.
Is it really, though? Hosses don't last in the main event scene. Never have - never will, with two exceptions:
Brock Lesnar was a big guy, could be considered a hoss, but he was a fucking NCAA wrestling champion. The guy was young and he could MOVE with the best of them. Batista can't do that. For a 35 year old man of his size, sure, he's got considerable speed and ability. But he's no Brock Lesnar in terms of pure athletic talent, and that's what gave Brock longevity.
Goldberg was a hoss - no question about it. But he was fed by the endless line of mid-card and low-card wrestlers on WCW's huge roster in the late 90's. WWE doesn't have that kind of a roster to feed to Batista. Batista is good, but he's no Goldberg in terms of "monster" gimmicks.
Assuming that Batista will walk out of WrestleMania with the World Title, we all know that it's only a matter of time before he drops the belt back to Triple H. Whether it's at Backlash, or Judgment Day, or even Summerslam, HHH will get the belt back.
Then, where does Batista go? There aren't exactly a whole lot of upper card heels for him to feud with. Kane vs. Batista? Boring. Ric Flair vs. Batista? Even more boring. Edge vs. Batista? Boring, and why?
He has nowhere to go but down, down, down - right to the ranks of Heat.
