The trouble with Planet Jarrett...

I am a big fan of Jarrett's. And I am a big fan of long title reigns. So why am I growing oh so board with the Jarrett long title reign? I know alot of you are going to jump on my ass and say "Well duh all he does is burry everyone", but I don't really mind that so much. The real trouble with this is that it isn't building to anything. I felt this way about Bradshaw's reign until Cena was entered into the picture. And that is the problem. Jarrett has already beaten everyone who matters; Styles, Abyss, Nash, Page, Brown, Hardy, and Raven. Those are the guys who could be looked at as credible champs in the company, but he has already beaten them. What they should have done is have one of them never face Jarrett. Kind of like how everyone fell inlove with Austin when he wasn't champ, it was the chase that everyone loved. Well no one is chasing the title. I mean of course they all are going for it, but at the end of the day, he has already beaten them. So now even if say Monty Brown DOES beat Jarrett, it doesn't really put Brown into the next level because it took alot of atempts. What should have happened (in my eyes anyway) is that they should have taken a guy (let's use The Alpha Male for example) and kept him out of the title scene. For months Brown would demand title shots, and Jarrett would never face him because he was too green, or whatever the excuse would have been. Meanwhile he goes through and dominates like he has been doing...then at Slamaversary have Brown finally get his title shot and beat Jarrett, that would at least justify having him hold on to the title for so long. Having him be champ right now just seems like it is going no where. And like I said there isn't a credible contendor who Jarrett hasn't already beaten at least once already...

I don't mind long reigns, and I love Jarrett...but this idea seems to be lost at sea...the only possible way I can see people really getting into the NWA Title picture again is to reintroduce Raven to it (a little FYI: the weekly PPV ratings were at their highest when Raven was going for the gold) since he has his cult fallowing and could get alot of people behind him, and Jarrett has made him look weak yet...hell jobbing to Abyss, Brown, and Rhodes hasn't made him look weak...ah the power of Raven.

And I'm pretty sure Slamaversary is gonna be the gayest name for a PPV but will also be the name of TNA's big show.

Styles as contender, well he needs to pick up a couple of key wins and why drop what looks like a real hot feud with Daniels?

But yeah The One, I agree. Jarrett with the title is really aimless. It's been the same process ever since they've been on TV. new contender named, beat, new contender, gets beat, new contender, gets beat. There is no chase. LIke with Benoit winnin it at WM XX that was the most awesome thing ever. When Orton won it it was pretty good. If Batista wins it it would be cool. If Cena wins it it would be cool because there was a chase, a hunt for the gold. They weren't just named #1 contender. They had to fight for it. Earn it.

As long as this method that TNA does right now stays, nothing will change and things will begin to decline.

AJ Styles and Chris Daniels = The futureI'd love to see Daniels fight for the title, but he's the X-Division champ right now so that won't happen. Most likely Styles will challenge after his cage match at the next ppv.

I agree I don't like the Kilted Raven, but it is his choice of ring wear I guess. The trouble with Raven is that he doesn't have Paul Heyman writing for him, he has Rhodes...or in WCW he had god knows who, I am certain Bisch didn't do shit for him...anyway I am willing to bet Raven is a D&D guy but that doesn't mean he isn't entertaining. I love Raven, I love the character, and I think Scott Levy is an INCREDIBLE entertainer. I am going to guess that either Styles or Brown eventually takes the title off Jarrett, but I would love more then anything to see Raven get that main event push with a nice big chase after the title... :drool:

Out of the guys that Jarrett has beaten, the two that can be pushed back up in the shortest amount of time would be Styles and Raven. I would have said Brown, but they killed his momentum and turned him heel.

I think TNA can become a more credible WRESTLING company by not using outlandish storylines and characters. I'm not saying that everyone should be in black tights but the more realistic the better.

Colorful characters usually don't even work in the WWE.

TNA needs to "Get Over" with solid wrestling and persona that are more down to earth. The thing is, the people and story arcs still need to be INTERESTING, but it's not impossible to do a story arc that's compelling without being over the top. Take the whole Kurt/Maichaels thing on WWE programming (Though a bit more comedic than I'd like to see TNA booked).

I think that over the past 3 years TNA has had more quality matches than WWE(most of them in the X-Division) but to become successful they need to stabilize the company and properly market their talent.
The AJ Styles-Christopher Daniels Iron Man Match was a better match than both Championship Main Events at WM hope to be.

Yes, Raven is about five mintues away from wearing one of those shirts with the rabbit that says, "YOU SMELL LIKE BUTT" or "BOYS ARE POOP,".....

BUT the biggest mnistake TNA has made so far was spending months building Raven as the anti-authority, anti-'chosen one,' champion of the people then killed all the mometum that fans had built behind Raven by allowing JJ to retain the title. That program right there is a perfect example of why TNA has failed up to this point.

Watching Impact is like watching the WCW in its final years. Pointless matches, angles that appear and are just dropped without any resolution, and a lot of so-called big name talent that seem to be on TV just for the sake of being on TV.

When TNA first got their TV deal, I really wanted them to make The Leap. And god knows that the in-ring product has been spectacular at times. But if you want to build up your fanbase you need to give them a reason to tune in next week, and the week after that, and after that, and so on.....

TNA just seems totally directionless, so in a way, kinda pointless.
