View Full Version : Angle Invitational

Haz59 said something in another thread that made me rather curious about something: Who, if anyone, will or should win the Angle Invitational?

Now, obviously somebody HAS to win this thing, b/c otherwise we would have had so many months of a storyline to just stop, and we all know how irritating that is. So, assuming the company doesn't just drop it, as they have apparently dropped the fact that Reigns and Jinkdrak are Angle's cronies, here's what I suggest:

Given the idea that Puder still works there (I've not seen him since the Rumble, so I don't know), I'd have him win it. Not that I'm a fan of his already, but he clearly has no fear of taking on guys like Angle, and he's also shown off his power to do so and be half-decent at it.

The way they've been working Puder's character, he's a cocky little prick. Overdone, but hey, what isn't? ANyway, Puder wins and takes Angle's medal -- cleanly. That way, he can go on and on about how he beat the Gold Medalist. As we all know, Kurt is already unnecessarily intense, so now that his pride is taken from him, he'd go all-out Kane crazy.

Have them Promo on each other a time or two, with a bunch of Puder mouthing off in the ring, Angle running out and Puder dodging away. Kurt demands a rematch, but Teddy Lizzle makes it a ladder match; the Medal, of course, dangling above the ring.

The only "downside" to this is that Kurt would end up being a face. Personally, I'm an Angle mark anyway, so I prefer him as a face. But I hear he enjoys being the bad guy, so he may not like the idea. Either way, Kurt will ultimately win back his medal and cement his place as The Best. After all, he IS the best -- oh, it's True.

It's DAMN true.

I doubt the Michaels feud will end at WM. Perhaps a local wrestler from San Antonio, Texas (if SD are going there anytime soon) could win it....;)

I think the WWE will drop it soon. You can't really disagree with me can you?

This is where my money would be too. This angle seemed doomed from the start.

You know what'd be cool though?

If someone from Raw won it in their hometown, on a special appearance to Smackdown. One of the people begs to be traded to the other show (Kurt for revenge sake) and builds tension that way, by trying to get himself shipped to the other show.

And demands a rematch for his medals, but he has to wait for the next joint brand PPV. So he makes do with chocolate medals for the time being.

I'm begging them to have Burchill win it on one of the UK Smackdown shows. Not this tour, but maybe in the fututre sometime?

Sorry to bump old threads, but I heard that the Angle Invitational was designed to keep Angle in the ring, but to limit his work, because of his neck problems. So it will probably keep going for now, and then just fade away.
