The trouble with this kind of movie is that it will either really really kick ass or it will really really suck balls.

It will probably suck balls.

Yeah, the commercials really make it look that way.

It looks like one of those movies that I'd never pay to watch but watch it on TV if I have nothing better to do and it's on.

I thought Shaolin Soccer was hilarious, so I'm looking forward to this. However it does indeed have potential to just not be funny at all and try too hard.

I saw it already in Chinese and I thought it was decent. Really insane fighting. Not realistic though like old school Jet li. This is like Shaolin Soccer on steroids with some weird ass story. Very superhero kinda stuff with very cartoony violence. If you liked Shaolin Soccer, you'll probably like this. But then again, Hong Kong humor doesn't translate well usually to the states or other parts of the world.

Rating 7/10

I love Stephen Chow, so if this is even 1/4 as good as Shaolin Soccer, I'll love it.

Shaolin soccer... I started to watch that butthen it was the dub version so I turned it off. If I was gonna watch it I'd want a subtitled version.

Yes I watched the sub version. It was the goods.

Harry Kalis is the guy that does the commercial like background speaker guy. And he is the guy who commentates Phillies games, and does the highlights on Inside the NFL.. Just noticed that

I don't know if it will be better than Kung Pow, but I'll see it

If it's twice as funny as Kung Pow, I'd still rather shoot myself.

You can't watch Kung Pow expecting a good movie. Just enjoy the stupidity of it.

But I've seen that this movie has been getting pretty good reviews so far. Should be good.

LOL

THis movie is awesome.

I just saw it a couple of hours ago. It's a REALLY enjoyable movie.

It had alot of ROFL parts in it. I mean really ROFL.

I almost fell out of my seat. It also has a pretty good plotline so it's not all jibberish.

I hope they make a sequel. I can see it happening in so many ways.

AWESOME

It's really funny. I expected it to be more along the lines of "Kung Pow," but it's really not. It's nowhere near as broad-humored as "Pow" was.

This is more of a funny homage to classic martial arts movies, what with the assortment of cliched (and totally not cliched) characters. Plus, you can tell that Chow is a fan of American movies, because he managed to work in references to "Spider-Man," "The Shining," "Gangs of New York," and "The Matrix" without any of them being unfunny.

"The Beast" was a great character, but I won't say anymore so I don't spoil anything for anyone. But, yeah, it's very funny. And it's completely in Chinese, with a couple of English lines thrown in for purely humorous purposes.

Stephen Chow films are absolutely hilarious if you're a Chinese guy who's been engrossed in American culture... aka a Chinese American or someone from Hong Kong.

Then you can catch the countless number of subtle references he puts in. :D

I had really high hopes for this, and i was let down a little bit. I still enjoyed the movie but it was'nt as good as i hoped it would be. Oh well back to watching Kung Pow!
