When Chris Jericho announced this match, he called it "a chance of a lifetime". We all know the details: The man who wins will recieve a contract for a World Heavyweight Title match valid for 12 months from point of aquisition.

Now Eric Bischoff pointed out that it could be used the next night on RAW, or left until Wrestlemania XXII. What didn't he mention though? Apparently, he neglected to mention that a contract valid for 12 months would be valid immediately.

So what would you do? You've just won the Ladder match and you've got a dilemma - either Trips or Batista will walk out of Wrestlemania with the World Title. We know for a fact that either of those men can beat any of the 6 ladder match participents on any given day. It's a hell of a mountain to climb. So...cheat.

Here's what i can see easily happening (in a move to make damn sure people will tune in the first RAW post WM, which has been a problem for the past few years). Batista pins Triple H - RAW has a new champ. What happens? The Ladder match winner leaps into the ring and smacks him over the head with a chair and proceeds with a beatdown akin to Austin on Rock at WMX7. He then cashes the contract and has a three second match with Batista.

Boom. We've got a new champion! And a true suprise for the first time in years. Plus everyone tuning in the next night. The guy to do it? Either Benoit (turning heel) or Edge.

OK, so it won't happen, but it'd be cool, right?

That would really piss the shit out of everyone, and though it would be a fantastic surprise, given Batista's HUGE push recently, it would totally kill his momentum. You basically build it all up for a three minute title reign.

So in terms of shocking, that's a fantastic idea, but it should not be used in this situation, given the context.

The only way I could see that working would be if Triple H beat Batista, the fans were in an outrage, and then Jericho showed up to win the title from HHH. Otherwise, I'd rather see the winner of the MITB match take up his shot at Mania next year.

Oh course, in the unlikely situation that Triple H somehow escapes his match with Batista with the title, such a situation could happen and prevent the people in the arena from rioting.

Note... unlikely situation.

I totally see your point, but the mainline prob in that is Vinne Mac Daddy won't let us recall that far back... I still remember the whole "I still remember" note but God forbid they ever talk about how that ended. It'd be awesome to see Chris Benoit (champ) VS Batista (winner of the rumble) VS Kane (Winner of the MiTB match... I can dream, can't I?) at WMXXII, however, if my spider sense is leading me the right way, look for the winner of the MiTB match to main event the next Raw PPV.

Have Jericho win the match, then have batista totally destroy hhh, only for jericho to help trips win, he then takes his shot right before wm 21 goes off the air, beating a already batterd triple h for the title

Never happen. WWE knows enough that if it did, the collective involuntary orgasm of ten million Jericho fans would destroy the world with the force of the semen driven directly into the ground.

Actually, I have an idea that I could actually see them doing. Edge wins the MITB match, and afterward gives a speech about how the fans "won't have to wait long" for him to make his choice. In the World Title match, HHH's entrance takes place first, and he's awaiting Batista when Edge's music hits and he says that he wants his match now. Eric Bischoff comes out and tells Edge to get the hell out of here, an argument ensues that's finally settled by a wheelchair bound Vince via Titan Tron ordering Bischoff to honor Edge's contract. Edge and HHH have a five minute match that HHH wins, but not by too much. After the match Edge beats the hell out of him. Flair comes in and swings at HHH with a chair, only to hit Batista, flooring them both (think the beginning of the unification match between Jericho and Austin.) The match then starts off with both men down but Batista obviously fresher, in which HHH actually works as the face, but is eventually beaten due to his fatigue. At the end of the match Batista, Edge, and Flair raise each other's hands as the "New Evolution."

You know what? If they didn'tmention it, it's probably not going to happen.
