If you didn't know, look at any wrestling news website.

Well that sucks and is rather pointless. I know I'd be pissed if I were one of the 30 guys, having to tape a match to air there rather than going out and doing it in front of everyone.

ProWrestlingTorch has confirmed that the 30-man Battle Royal WILL happen at WrestleMania, and it will feature 15 of RAW’s match will not be televised on Sunday Night Heat, or the WrestleMania PPV itself. The match is going to be filmed and will only be able to be seen on the WrestleMania 21 DVD, which is scheduled for release in the months following Mania.

Well, basically every event has a dark match. RAW has had a few big ones lately, so I'm not surprised something like this is done. A little extra bonus to buy the DVD makes sense, especially for an event thats live on PPV.

It'll be interesting to see what the Heat match is, however. There better be one; and it better be good. Otherwise, give us the battle royal, please.

I wonder if they think this is actually going to be a draw for the DVD.

Continuing Our Senseless Booking Spree

Fucking stupid, they are doing it for nothing?

I think it is being shown in the UK, someone told me.

Whoop-dee-do. So they're not going to show it. Does that make the booking senseless? They're probably doing it to boost backstage moralle. They'll have JR mention it as some kind of gimmick addition when he tries to solicit the DVD on Raw some night to boost sales by a couple hundred dollars, and they're getting the work for free. I'm not going to boo hoo about something that I'm not even going to see. That's like throwing a fit about the booking of a house show.

I guess they're doing it to shut up the talent who won't get a paycheck for WrestleMania...

Why even have it if not going to air it tonight, Stupidest thing Ive ever heard.

LOL its not even for any title shot or anything, and the best guys in it will probably be Gene Snitsky or Rob Van Dam. Completely pointless :nono:

When are they even going to hold it? I would say that there isn't any time after the show, because WrestleMania, for fans at home and at the arena, should end with THE main event, not something that was thrown together at the last minute.

My guess is that they're going to do it while Heat airs. They didn't use the arena for Heat last year I don't think. There wasn't a match for Heat, I know that. (I was there and they didn't show Heat in the arena at all.)

"Hey Gene, how do you feel about the rumble not being aired?"

"It wasn't...MY..."

I can't do it.

Most events Ive been to, when Heat is on, they dont show it on the screens, so yeah it would makes sense to hold it during Heat.

At leats now it wont be a 7 minute match.

It kinda depends how they handle it. If they show on Heat, say the final four, and tell the fans what the Battle Royal is for, and they say you can see this match in its entirety when it comes out on DVD. Then its not a bad idea.

But if they dont awknowledge it on TV, and never mention that it happens, and only throw it on the DVD, then its really pointless. Because the winner wont be able to do anything with it.

As for th epayday, I still dont think the guys get a cut of the same purse that the guys on the actual card get. They might get paid more than a regular show, but I think working Heat gives you a much lower paycheque.

They should say the winner gets a shot at the IC or US title, when ever they want. Maybe then Booker T could win and challenge Orlando later that night.

Nah. Never happen.

Xero

If it DOES air on Heat, that will be a mistake on WWE's part. Granted, this Heat should draw better than what it's been doing because it's a WrestleMania preshow, but if they had promoted this 30 man Royal Rumble-type interpromotional match airing on Heat, they could have had a significantly higher number. (In theory.)

Its a battle royal not royal rumble.

Xero
04-03-2005, 06:44 PM
I said Royal Rumble-type match (which is what most casual fans would see it as). The only difference between the two is that in a battle royal they all enter at once.

And of course how you win. There's been no "over the top" stip mentioned anywhere, but really...Who cares if it's called a rumble or not?
