View Full Version : What's Next for JBL?

Now that JBL has lost his championship, what do you think is left for him? I think these are the only options.

1. JBL fights Orlando for the US title - After JBL loses his Wrestlemania rematch to Cena, Teddy Long tells him he can't try for the WWE title as their are many people above him in the line, he tells him he can try for the US title though, JBL is confident, he tells Orlando to lie down and let him have the belt so he can build his reputation up. Orlando is unsure, but agrees, during the match, he kicks out and says 'This belt means everything to me, man!' and JBL loses it. Orlando turns babyface and they fight for months for the title.

2. JBL disapears and fights once and a while - JBL just fights once and a while, and mostly to only JOB to make others good.

3. JBL joins a tag team - JBL and Orlando become a tag team and attempt to get the tag belts.

4. JBL turns babyface - JBL becomes face and fights one of the biggest heels to get the crowd behind him and he changes his gimmick.

JBL feuds with Triple H.

I think there are a few more options than that, no dissrespect.

I just read he and Cena will have an I Quit match at Judgment Day. So looks like he's sticking around the main event scene up until then at least. Which only makes sense seeing as there is no other strong heel on SD to go against Cena. An Eddie turn looks possible but he'd have to do the inevitable fued with Mysterio before going after Cena so JBL is really the only option.

Of course, if rumors are true and there is another draft then things could change.

He's only lost his title. Doesn't necessarily mean he will drop to midcard. I think he will stick around upper-midcard's for a while. Fighting with people like Booker T, Charlie Haas, Eddie, Mysterio etc, ala Kane for the past 7 years. Then eventually he will get a title shot again - maybe Judgement Day if rumors are true.
But he also could go to Raw! Which would be the best option I think. Feuding with HHH, Kane, Batista, Y2J etc.

How? Not like Raw's strong in the heel dept either. Unless Triple H switches shows...:shifty:

I say by August or September JBL gets the title back.

Actually probably sooner. So yeah JBL will be World champion again in the near future.

I think JBL will get his rematch with Cena fairly soon. But why is everyone saying there are no strong heels on Smackdown? Kurt Angle, anyone? I know Cena/Angle has been done to death. But after his win over HBK in a match that basically stole the show, wouldn't the next natural step to see another Cena/Angle program?

Theyre advertising an i quit match between cena and jbl (front page news section), id assume jbl loses then goes to raw to have a fued with big nose.

I believe it will be him and Cena again for the heavyweight belt.....that is basically the only way to follow it up. Same way with Trips and Batista.

I think JBL has done more damage to the WWE title than anyone, yes I know that right now he's the best heel SD! has but he is still a mid-carder to me IMO.

I definitely wouldn't rule out keeping JBL in the main event scene since he's held the WWE title for so long. Even another short title reign wouldn't be so bad provided the title regians some credibility, as does JBL.

His match last night wasnt that bad...he's not a bad rassler hes just not WWE champion material. He'll probably go singles.

I think JBL will turn face and go back to being just Bradshaw and Faarooq will return and the APA will be back.

I guessing that because Faarooq was at The Hall Of Fame Ceremony.:-\

Anything that keeps the belt off JBL.

Don't make me go through that ever again.

I would have him feud with HHH.

He'll get the Title back too. Way too much time invested in him for him to just drop out of the picture.

I'd like to see that happen now that JBL is a credible wrestler, it could somehow help the tag team division on Smackdown, which kinda sucks right now. :-\

Not to be disrespectful, but how exactly would you do that? The JBL character works as a heel, but as a face? I really don't know if that would go over at all. He's a rich, cocky, smartass business man - not exactly a fan favorite. And Triple H as a face? Yeah right.

Heel vs. Heel feuds never work, so who would you turn?

That's idiotic. They're not going to drop JBL to bring back the Acolytes/APA.

Though Simmons feuding with JBL might work.

I think a face turn is a possibility. He might get upset at the Cabinet for not interfering. But he's not dropping out of the main event right away. The JBL character is a main event character. But after such a long title reign, it will be different to see JBL without the title.

PureHatred

He's a racist, bigoted, sexist, millionaire who basically thinks he can do whatever he wants because he's entitled to. He works great as a heel (and that's why people were cheering) bu he makes absolutely zero sense as anything else. Turning JBL face would wussify him instantly; i.e. John Cena and Randy Orton.

It'd make more sense to turn HHH face since it's been in the works for so long on paper.

I don't think anyone would ever buy Triple H as a face again. Not after beating the shit out of a retard for two months. Not after forming the biggest heel group in the company and keeping it running for over a year. Not after all the long ass, 30 minute heel promos he cuts every Monday night. He's THE bonafide heel who holds the title that everyone wants, and that's how he works.

That, accompanied by PureHatred's assessment of JBL's character, makes me think that a JBL-HHH feud would never work. The promos would be great though.

5. Rematch with Cena followed by rehashed feuds w/ other face "main eventers."

Diesel anyone?

I feel that the Cabinate are going to break up, Orlando to turn Face and by Summerslam we will have The Million Dollar Man Vs Virgil V2ahhhhhhhhhh

By that time though the US title won't be on Vir...Orlando, ummm some face will probably have it, ummm Rey

Ill say it right know. JBL will turn babyface in the future and he will be even more over then when he was a heel. Usually, asshole heels make the best babyfaces, especially in today's society. JBL is the biggest asshole of them all. Yea, he's racist, sexist and does whatever he wants and that's exactly why he'll get over. All you got to do is turn that around on other heels and not the fans.

Just a little character tweak is all you need and JBL gets over as a face.

Trust me, I've seen enough to know that no matter what a heel does, howvwer drastic he does it, he can still get over as a babyface down the road.

actually, it would be pretty funny if they got JBL over as a babyface in the south and made him a heel in the north.

Don't worry, he will. With the rumored "I Quit" Match at the next SD! PPV, I really think JBL will get the title right back. Gimmick matches are JBL's specialty, at least when he was the champ

Difficult to say. The fact that Cena basically anihilated him at WM made his title run seem.... lame. I was really just starting to buy ito him as a heel champion, then they go and squash him. He will probably win the title back fairly soon and continue the feud with Cena until Summerslam.
