Yea, so Taker goes 13-0 at 'Mania. Well fuck him, the Braves are going to get their 14th straight division title at the very least. Hopefully they won't choke come playoff time this year, though.
Who knows, SI has them penned to go to the World Series over St. Louis, so I'm pulling for another championship coming back where it belongs.
Post your own feeling/stories pertaining to the Braves being better than your favorite team, because we all know they are. (Except for those damn Yankees, but what's to expect, their salary cap is like 200 mill, whereas everyone elses is like 80-90.)
Oh yea, speaking of the salary cap deal, I think Selig needs to be fired as commisioner, it is PAINFULLY obvious that he made the salary cap 'buy-out' rule with the Yankees in mind. Steinbrenner had to suck alot of dick though, I bet you.

Got a good feeling this year. Probably shouldn't have changed my pick of having the Braves go all the way, but, alas, I did.

They at least need to make it to the NL Champ game. Sheesh. I can't even root for them anymore.

please don't get me started on the whole "Yankees have more money thing." We've discussed this too many times on here.
To put it frankly, Steinbrenner is not the richest owner in baseball, not even top 5, but he spends the most. Not his fault really.

Ted Turner > George Steinbrenner
:shifty:
Ted Turner doesn't own the Braves anymore. They became a property of AOL-Time Warner when that merger occured several years back, and then Turner went bye-bye, leaving the Braves with the company. Their payroll has now been dropped to 80 million dollars, which is still the 5th highest in the majors.

It's not his fault? It's his money that he spends on his team. Explain to me how that can be someone other than his own fault.
Either way, when you can basically buy the all-star team because your cap is twice or more what every other teams is, how can you even justify that as being remotely fair?

Look at Smoltz today. Mid way through the 6th inning, and he's got 14 strikeouts and has the Mets shut out thus far.

Smoltzee with a HOT appearance. I was hoping he would come back after that first start. I figured he would get roughed up his first start, but this makes me happy. :)
Hey, congrats on the first win of the season for you guys. :)

They needed another starter. Plus picking up Kolb, was genius. He was/is an unknown in Milwaukee. Cheap.

I can't possibly argue that point, but I'd say they've never had the overall talent that other teams have had. It was usually either a hitting team or a pitching team. And yeah, I know. Some teams can achieve with less talent.
The Braves can't, however.

I didn't say the Braves weren't still choking, but the last 3 or 4 years the Yankees have been just as bad at finishing the job. I mean you can say the same for the 01 Yankees DBacks series. The Yankees had the much better players, but the DBacks were the better team. 04 Sox Yankees, Yankees had better roster, but the Sox were a better team. The best team is going to beat a team of all-stars 9 out of 10 times when it matters, because egos don't get in the way. The Yankees from 97-2000 knew this, but they have forgot all about that recently.
