THE ROAD TO THE RUMBLE CONTINUES
Jan. 12, 2004
It will be the final New York City area appearance before WrestleMania XX, and if the one announced match is a sign of things to come, is in for a treat that will leave it itching for the big event in March. By virtue of defeating Mark Henry in a No. 1 Contender’s Match on RAW last week, Rob Van Dam will face Randy Orton for the Intercontinental Championship, a rematch against the very man who beat him for the Championship at Armageddon. RVD will have revenge on his mind, but Orton has been nearly unstoppable for some time now. Will history be made on RAW? Tune in to find out!

Also, last week, RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff found his way out of a night dealing with the law of Sheriff Stone Cold Steve Austin when he handed the reigns as RAW GM to Theodore Long – thanks to the promise owed to Long after Survivor Series. Bischoff took the night off, but it is clear that he will eventually have to run RAW as GM with the new Sheriff in town. Since Austin's return RAW has been pure chaos, leaving many people to wonder if this is what the Board of Directors had in mind when they re-instated Stone Cold.

RAW Superstars Kane and Booker T also began the road to Royal Rumble last week by throwing their hats into the ring for the Royal Rumble. Both declared that the path to victory and a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania may be through each other, but also said that nothing is going to stop either of them from gaining a Rumble victory. Will any other RAW Superstars enter the Rumble? Only one way to find out … watch RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV!

I doubt they'll do anything dumb like have Orton drop the IC title, so it'll likely be another win for Randy.

The big question as I see it is what role will Mick Foley play on this show. Its in Long Island, which is Foley's home, so they have to use him in some capacity. Maybe he comes out after Orton's match and beats up on Randy. Or maybe Randy does some type of pre-taped vignette doing something to like Foley's house or his family or whatever.

Hopefully they announce a lot more guys for the Rumble from the RAW side.

Eh, I see it as a face kick off. I think Henry has some credibility. Although we know Wrestling is scripted, I think fans still look for some realism. They did a good move by shutting him up and giving him that "powerhouse" gimmick. Henry vs Jericho later should be decent to see simply cause Y2J will be the solid face.

And think about it this way... if it weren't for guys like Henry, Jericho would have to face guys like Orton. Where one or the other kills eachothers push.

She didn't botch any spots. It looked like she botched a litacuranna but Molly's also at fault for that one. Unless you expect Lita to launch people over top ropes with her legs for real.

Also, if Lita hurt her arm, Molly's also half to blame with that one. She slammed Lita's arm over the top rope... and it was up to Molly to let go on time for that kind of move.

Actually, I like the teasing of Mick Foley without delivering. It's pretty obvious they're setting up a Foley return, but they're making it intriguing. If they play the cards right, he'll show up when people don't expect him to, even though he's supposed to.

There's good psychology going on in this storyline, which I feel can really push Orton. So I like it.

Also, gotta love the twists and turns of the Jericho/Trish roller coaster. It's good old fashioned denial of the happy ending. Chris goes after Trish. Chris tricks Trish. Chris falls for Trish. Trish hates Chris. Chris woos Trish. Trish finally has a change of heart. Chris go bye bye. Great stuff!

Anyway there were a few good things about Raw... Here's what I found good anyway.

Jericho wrestling as a clear face. (Of course this was ruined)
Kane dominating. (Keeping the monster thing going)
RVD vs Randy Orton
RVD

HBK's SCM on The Coach
The Coach
Stone Cold Steve Austin raising hell all night.
The Goldberg / BPP confrontation
Lita / Trish being on TV in anyway

That's about all I enjoyed.

I thought it was bad that they once again hyped something for close to 2 hours and then didn't deliver. I mean I know they didn't guarante Foley would be there, but if h's not going to show, dont make it seem like he will befor 2 hours.

They could have put heat on Orton by using Foley's house or family. Maybe Orton could have done an angle with Collette or one of the kids in order to get heat. They could have said Foley is 'away on business' and isn't in the area. At least that way Orton stil gets heat, but you dont swerve the fans.

The other reason that I didn't like it was because it took away from a decent bout between Orton and RVD. These matches are being designed to put over Orton, notice he won clean. But for the fans in the arena, and possibly the ones at home as well, all they could foucs on was 'when is Foley coming out?'. To me that took away from the match, which is bad for someone they want to eventually lead the comapny.

I recognize they have a long term plan for this angle, and they want people to thin Foley is a coward but they have to think in terms of the impact on business with every level of this program.

Okay.. you're going to be lost here cause the people of Socom II have their own language. Sniping is good.. yes. But "camping" is bad. Because the round ends in a draw when you have campers and the would-be winning team doesn't get as many points. It's kinda hard to explain. I'd recommend playing it or any game online though. It's fun as hell. The funnest thing about it is the people who take it seriously.

If you do play use a grenade launcher... you'll get flamed majorly when the round is over and you can chat with the opponents. "Pussy has to use a grenade launcher!" It's ****in' great.
