Straight Outta Compton, Doggystyle, The Chronic, Ready to Die, 2pacalyps Now, Illmatic, southernplayalisticcadillacmusic, Coming Out Hard, Mystic Styles, Enter the 36 Chambers of Shoalin, Uncut Dope, etc etc etc came out before '96...

And in regards to old school rap/rock stuff, I think it was pretty interesting.

I especially liked "Judgment Night" by Onyx and Biohazard. Catchy as hell.

That's the first one to get any real recognition in the music biz, but ther are songs dating back from the late 70s. I'm pretty sure Zulu Nation and Afrika Bambaata were there at the time.

"Rap" was a gradual start from soul/funk/RnB... All I know for fact is, Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five "The Jungle" is considered the first "rap" video...

p.s.Afrika Bambaata and Zulu nation didn't "rap"... Soul Sonic Force did..
