LOL, what the fuck? Incredible. Has anyone ever seen this movie? I swear the whole movie was filmed while on some serious crack.
Basically it was the sequal to the Wizard of Oz like 30 years later. Yep, Dorthey is still the same age :nono: I don't even know what to say here.
Instead of Tin Man and Lion as Dorthey's entourage, we get a fucking Moose, who has no arms, legs or body. Yea, I know. Oh yea, and his head falls off in the movie. LOL. We get a robot named Tic Tok  UNREAL. And to top off this Oz entourage, we get a guy with a Pumpkin head, who reminds me of the guy from a Nightmare Before Christmas movie. His name is Jack too. I don't know what else to say here.
Instead of the Wicked Witch, we get an evil Queen, who has about 30 different heads she wears.
And here's the Best Part. The flying monkeys have somehow transformed into these coked up insane circus freaks, who have wheels on thier arms and legs. They laugh like complete assholes too.
The Scarecrow, Lion and Tin Man make guest appearences though. Looking nothing like thier former selves of course.
WOW, just WOW. This whole movie is insane and I would recommend this thing just for a laugh.

Yeah it's a mad movie.
Used to watch it when I was a kid.

LOL, yeah, I loved this movie when I was a kid when they would show it on the Disney Channel and I was the only one near me who knew about this movie for a long time and it felt like this movie near existed. That one scene where Dorothy is running from a headless queen and the wheelies are after her scared the hell out of me when I was younger.
Oh, and in case you didn't know, a young Fairuza Balk (the head witch from the Craft) played Dorothy. This was so a movie that Tim Burton would have done.

Yeah saw this a long long time ago. Scared me from what I remember. I should revisit it.
This shit looks too good to pass up. I may just pick it up or at least rent it. :y:

I loved it as a kid, it was pretty scary as I remember
Wasn't the opening scene about Dorthy being in an institution and they were shocking her or something

Hey, to clear something up, does that movie start with Dorothy in a mental hospital?

That movie rocked. Dorothy was the same age because it was FILMED 30 years later, not TAKING PLACE 30 years later.
It's also pretty damn true to the books, unlike the original, which was one big gay pride parade. Which is why it's so much cooler.

I remember seeing it a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. It was split into parts on TV.
If I remember correctly I thought it was pretty cool. Recently while watching Wizard of Oz I wondered why they never play it anymore...

You know, last night after posting this and after being able to take what I had just seen all in, I came to teh conclusion that this will be one of those movies that I will come to love. Like I definately watching it if it ever comes on again. Then I will probably watch it again. This will lead me to buying the DVD if it's out and I will take all that I said about the movie back.
It's how life is sometimes.

LOL yea.
I never read any of the books, were they more darker or something?

LOL yea.

The tone varied. This was a darker approach than I remember the corresponding book being, but there was some darkness in many of the books. There was also a lot of pure nonsense, but not to the level of the 40s "Oz."
This was definitely more true though. Even the original Wizard book was kinda dark. Ironically, the cartoon series on HBO was MORE true than the live action one.
While I say this was darker, it wasn't largely darker. However, it's been almost a decade since I last read an Oz book, so I'm not sure how much more twisted it was.
Some of the characters in this rocked. I like Jack, though I was never partial to the Gump (The moose/sofa thing) or the chicken (I seem to recall she was more interesting in the book).

I remember hearing about a remake of the original OZ called "Surrender Dorthey" that was supposed to be super dark. Would have made Return to OZ look like the 40's musical in comparison. It was a while back, and I guess it got scrapped. What a shame...I guess we needed a second xXx movie more...or Crossroads :shifty:.

I saw some of it when I was like 6, and then doubted whether is was movie cause I havent seen anything of it since then... It was on tv or something and it was crazy, I remember those wheelchair freaks and how the lion was actually a lion.
I kinda thought it might have been a freaky dream I had, but thank's for confirming it was a real movie.

I think my sister has it on DVD. I haven't seen it in like 20 years. And yeah, Tik Tok and Jack are real Oz characters. I'm not sure about the other characters.
