- The following was issued on TNAwrestling.com:

“SLAMMIVERSARY” TO DEBUT IN JUNE & “NO SURRENDER” IN JULY

Nashville, TN (April 20, 2005) – TNA Entertainment LLC announced today the name and dates of the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling pay-per-view events for June and July.

“Slammiversary” will take place on Sunday, June 19th commemorating the third anniversary of TNA Wrestling. “Slammiversary” will be broadcast from Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

“No Surrender” will be held on Sunday, July 17th and also broadcast from Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

TNA Wrestling “Lockdown” is available this Sunday, April 24th on pay-per-view. It is the first-ever all steel cage professional wrestling pay-per-view event, with all matches taking place in the Six Sides of Steel
------------------------------------

Looks like they renewed there deal with the studio which was up in June I think.

Regardless of what I think about the product itself it's good to see competition and it would have been a shame to see it die

Now hopefully they'll straighten out their booking, and learn to keep their employees in line for a change *cough* Kid Krap *cough*.

When has a comedy gimmick ever been given a decent push, except for Doink, but c'mon how's a clown not going to get over?

I dunno I mean despite all the crap that Kash talked I do like his in ring style and performance.

But ummm maybe this is a good sign to see that TNA still has something left. I just wished they had a better name than Slammaversary

They'll be out of business before the second one.

I'd rather see good competition than see bad "competition" on life support.

I know, the thought of a non-WCW-lite competition brand is laughable.

At this point, I'm hoping that TNA dies. If they can't book the talent they have, they don't deserve to suceed.

Speaking of not deserving to succeed, wtf are they thinking? An entire ppv inside a cage? Talk about running an idea into the ground.

Kane Knight

Tell me about it. Why not run the entire business in a cage? I'm sure it would draw THEN!

So you want too see people lose their jobs? TNA is better than Smackdown. All the people who work on the SD brand should be fired?

TNA is not even close to Smackdown, which is really sad. There is not a single thing entertaining on that show every single week.

Fuck that. Velocity is better than Smackdown.

What I want to see is quality rewarded by success. This isn't retarded musical chairs, where everyone wins.

I assume you was never a fan of the product and always went into the shows with a negative mind set.To say TNA not close to Smackdown is just stupid. When the last time Smackdown actually had a good ppv? You have to go back two years ago to name one. Impact is not perfect and I don't think it's great but too say it's not close to Smackdown is stupid. Tna can do more in one hour than Smackdown can do in two. Imagine if TNA had a 90 minute or 2 hours show, they would blow SD out the water. I can't wait till this fall, if you go to pwinsider.com elite message board, TNA will most likely sign with WGN within two months, the day TNA moves to primetime is the day wrestling moves forward.

Yea, you assumed totally wrong. Go back and look at my old posts about TNA. I was extremely high on the company. I even said it was better then WWE a few times. This was a couple of months back. Ever since they got Impact, the show has flat out sucked and been as boring as it can be.

While Smackdown may be crap at times, it has got a hell of a lot better the past 2 months and has some pretty good segments now. Why does TNA throw no names on Impact for? Half the show revolves around the main even matches that nobody seems to care about. No interesting storyline progression at all.

As for WGN, we'll see.

Nope. You assumed wrong.

Wrong again. I SO wanted them to be worth a fuck. I've pulled for them longer than I reasonably should have, and that's not a negative mindset.

To say TNA not close to Smackdown is just stupid.
You misspelled "realistic."

When the last time Smackdown actually had a good ppv? You have to go back two years ago to name one.
That's an exaggeration. But the same goes for TNA. I haven't enjoyed a PPV in gaes.

mpact is not perfect and I don't think it's great but too say it's not close to Smackdown is stupid.
Impact is not perfect? Understatement, but since the best you can come up with is "it's stupid..."

Tna can do more in one hour than Smackdown can do in two. Imagine if TNA had a 90 minute or 2 hours show, they would blow SD out the water.
Bullshit. They're still booked worse. JBL=Interesting heel champion, albeit with shitty ring skills. The competition alone for the title scene is more worth Smackdown than TNA.

Still rumours.

And with the limited access WGN has, you're daydreaming. You were still thumping the TNA/Spike rumours after they were shot down. Face it, you can't count on this, it's "stupid" to do so.

I'll give TNA it's due for 3 consecutive Excellent PPV's. The last one was total garbage and this one will probably top the last one in terms of it being garbage. Put that with not 1 episode of Impact being entertianing in like 4 months and it's just a bad situation.

Well said LC& KK..damn i wish i didn't join in so late, but meh..basically TNA ahs been fucked up with politics from the start, now i have enough of that shit with WWE to put up with, i don't want to have to put up with this much from TNA when hasn't even got started. That's what has put me off the product, along with lack of storylines, under using superstars already(they actually have the nerve to do that when they've barely got off the ground? It seems like the WWE were giving them tips and they fell for the joke) and no one really to care about, the one i did care about was AJ styles and he got shoved down a division. That made no fucking sense to me...apart from his style is better suited. But thats bollocks and we know it, JJ just didn't want the spotlight taken off him. TNA is JJ's playground, end of story basically.(is he still champ?I havent watched it in about ,umm, 2 months..)

This sounds a lot like ECW's final months.

The fact that they have to confirm PPV's that are 2 and 3 months away still far outweighs the good in the fact that they'll happen.

The real issue. You nailed it on the head.

TNA can't afford to play politics. They need to appeal to people, and JJ's ego may be big, but he still only counts as one.

AJ is massively popular, and should be used. They should use a ton of their talent more. They couldn't even push Hardy. I don't even like Jeff. They pick up the WWE's leftovers, furthering their "we're #2" image. Worse, they have some hot fucking talent they don't use.

The WWE does it, but they can get away with it. A 4.0 rating still gives them a lot of wiggle room. They get more people tuning in by accident than TNA does dedicated viewers (1).

When I found out TNA was gonna have a TV deal, I was fucking excited. Now I only remember to watch Impact because FSN airs the second showing at a time that's right after Velocity.

the sad thing is that the actual WRESTLING on Impact is generally pretty good.

it's just that the overwhelming direction of the company is WCW circa 1994, and that's not a good thing.

That's the problem. WCW had some great WRESTLING too. Sadly, they still had some great wrestling even while it was being mixed amongst "kiss my ass" matches, "Viagra on a pole" matches, and other gems.

Howabout the "pizza on a pole" match? Sadly, both men were eaten by a rabid Dusty Rhodes.

if today was a sign of the PPV then we are in for some real stupid stuff. the match opener started off with Konnan and he threw his shoe at the opponent.

He took it off and threw it. :wtf:

and the main event I dozed. rewound it and tried to watch it again but dozed. I'ma try a third time though.
