Right, just reading some shitty football (soccer) magazine today and stumbled across this little comic strip:

Now, notice in the last screen, it clearly shows the old WWF logo. Looks like all that money spent on "Get the F out" was a waste.

Discuss on should they have spent more time letting people know about the change, or something.

They're gonna get sued by the 'real' WWF now.

Craig Bellamy is far uglier than that in real life.

And Killer Fat dude hasn't been wrestling since 1998.

I'm pretty sure Killer Fat Dude is one of Rosey's older gimmicks. Although after sitting on Triple H's head, it might be his new one :-\

Its gonna take time for WWE to become common place. Time.

The majority of folks who are not fans and just make those kinds of references don't give enough of a damn to recognize WWE very quickly. Many fans still stumble on the name.

Hell, Roddy Piper called it WWF at WrestleMania. That mag doing it is not surprising. I'd be shocked if they got it right.

I give WWF 10 years to go away completely in terms of that.

Call up Comcast, and while you're on hold...you hear a message in the background saying "Watch as superstars of the World Wrestling Federation battle it out on PPV"

Yeah, some people still call it WWF, no big deal. That's what people have been used to calling it. Plus most people don't even keep to date on it. It will catch on in 10 years time

What it's really going to take is one popularity spike.

I still call it the WWF.

Two W's followed by a vowel is awkward to pronounce, especially in conjunction with something else. Not to mention the familiarity.

I just hope people will be calling it 'WWE' whenever it happens, not 'the WWE', which is as incorrect as 'the WCW'.

Of course WWE doesn't even get that right, so it probably won't happen.

I agree. I only heard Rey Mysterio say it correctly

"I will become WWE Champion"

Yeah, the World Wrestleing Federation sounded right.

The World Wrestling Entertainment doesn't.

Though technically, the latter is correct.
