Well 7 picks in and no trades or surprises..except Mike Williams is still there..if he is there at 11 the Cowboys better fuckin take him , who cares if they already have Key, a similiar reciever..he's getting older. They passed on Jackson last year but I believe they should take Williams if there .
Also Aaron Rogers is still there..looks like he'll drop for a bit more.
Nervous Ferret

yeah, ROFL at Rodgers. Last week he was gunna go #1, he's not even gunna be a top 10 pick now. Flippin between this and the yankee game.

Lions are stupid..they need defense, what's the point of 3 starting recievers..
Cowboys adressing defense I guess they are switching to a 3-4. Hope they take a wr,or corner with the 2nd rounder.

Matt Jones to Jacksonville. I don't know much about him, but they were saying he's 6'6" and ran a 4.36. I hope he's the missing link for the Jaguars.

So Rodgers is probably going to Green Bay.

There is no way the Lions will keep both Mike and Roy aswell as Charles Johnson. I expect them to move Mike somewhere, maybe to a team like the Jets or something. Weren't they looking for improvement in the WR ranks?
Crimson
04-23-2005, 06:40 PM
Charles Rogers. They probably will keep all 3 this year and then next year probably trade one of them or something.

I can't see them keeping both Williams' though, they are both #1 material and usually that doesn't last long.

If Clarett has any sort of career in Denver it will be because of the system. They already had Tatum Bell and Quentin Griffin. They picked up Ron Dayne during FA and now they add Clarett? Waste of a pick.

That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this pick. 3rd down and short yardage back, big bruiser to help mix it up and provide an alternative to Tiki. Hopefully he becomes what Ron Dayne should have been.

I can't believe Swancutt from Oregon State went so late. He looked pretty damn good everytime I saw him play. Could be a sleeper.
Patriots also picked Matt Cassell QB from USC in the 7th round. If I am thinking right I don't think he could have ever played - Palmer then Lienhart. Next Brady? I doubt it haha

Yeah WTF, I saw him get picked and was like "QB USC" WHAT?
But let me be the first to say, I am giving Maurice Clarett a clean slate and hope he does well, and I think he could be decent too. Especially with the Bronco's RB success.

I wanted him REALLY BAD, but I guess with Doug Brien you can't blame them, and I think we got a good guy after that anyway. But they didn't have a first round pick, I don't think they did anything spectacular in the draft.

Doug Brien did the Vikings a favor, we had him in 2002 I think, and we were AWFUL, but if Brien was good we would have won at least two more games and had a lower draft pick.
So even though Brien pissed the hell out of me back then, getting McKinnie that year doesn't hurt anybody.

I remember McPherson getting in some kind of trouble with the law (I think it was drunk driving) and that is why FSU was still using piece of shit Chris Rix last year.
Nervous Ferret
04-25-2005, 12:00 AM
yeah McPherson got kicked off the team or something. I think it was for drunk driving.
Jesus Shuttlesworth
04-25-2005, 12:11 AM
No he didn't get caught drunk driving - here's the story:
He stole a blank check and cashed it for 3,500 dollars. The team found out, he started the next game. Pretty sure it was a loss - then he got booted from the team the next day. Then they said he was gambling too but he denies all of that. He admitted to the blank check thing though.
So he played last season in the Arena Football Leauge and absolutely tore shit up. He had pretty good work outs (put up 225 pounds something crazy like 23 times) and teams were pleased with the fact he took the blame for his mistakes.
He should be solid - He's not as much as a running threat as Vick though. He is still mobile but his 40 time isn't anything ridiculous like 4.3 or something. I think its around a 4.7.

Brandon Jacobs, isn't that the sick Auburn RB who transferred when he knew he was going to get shit for playing time?
If so, the kid is plain nasty. Guy averaged more YAC than Caddy or Ronnie. He averaged like 6.7 or something while...Brown I think averaged 6.3. He's a load.
Gonzo
04-25-2005, 02:48 PM
Yeah he transferred from Auburn to Souther Illinois to get more time rather than split it with Cadillac and Brown. The coach didn't redshirt him at Auburn or else he probably would have stayed because he would've started as a senior. While at Auburn for a year he did average a higher YPC than Cadillac or Brown, like Outlaw said.
Then at Southern Illinois he had 19 TD's and 6+ YPC. Ridiculously huge too, like 6'3" 260lbs.

I kind of get the impression that the Cleveland Browns are looking to get Matt Lienert next year. They clearly would have been better off this season to draft Cadillac or Aaron Rodgers, but they took Braylon, and as we saw with Larry Fitzgerald he probably won't have a big effect right away, especially without the QB. Then they take Pollack, who will definatly help them, but not an extreme amount by himself.
So it looks like they drafted guys that could be and should be really good in their careers, but guys that won't help them win very much next year. What do you guys think?

My bad about Pollack, get them mixed up...oops.
But it shouldn't be a really hard concept to grasp. The quarterback is the most important guy on the team, and without a good one a wide reciever doesn't really do much. You saw it with Larry Fitzgerald, I think it will be the same thing with Braylon.
It makes sense though, they load up on really good players but ones that probably won't do much for them this year, so that they can get the best possible QB to make the other players better. Do you really think drafting Braylon will make the Browns a significantly better team?
PureHatred
04-26-2005, 02:39 AM
I see what you're saying. But Cleveland is in Year One of a massive rebuilding project. Nobody they drafted this year was going to make them much better. They decimated their defense (probably a good thing), they're starting Trent Dilfer, and their best offenisve weapon is coming off a season-ending injury. Romeo Cornell isn't one to phone in anything, but yeah, in the back of his head I'm sure he's looking at that team and figuring, "Yeah, we pick #1 next year."
Also, I'm a little surprised they picked Edwards because Cornell comes form the New England system where character guys are important; Edwards is kind of an ass and that locker room is full of headcases. Expected them to trade down and get the LB from texas.
Ah well....gonna go read another draft report where the 'Boys got an A grade...

They should have stayed in the first, taken Miller. Nugent would most likely have fell to their pick in the 2nd. Kickers are drafted that high very often and I can't think of any other team that hasn't addressed the position or is in sore enough need to draft the best one out of college.

Gonzo
04-26-2005, 09:40 PM
I think the Cowboys are going to rise to dominance if Parcells can build the team the way he likes to. As long as he stays and finishes what he has started they are going to return to their former forms. Parcells is definitely building what he has had in his past teams, a running game and a defense. They definitely addressed defense in the draft with some great picks. They have Julius Jones who showed some definite promise last year. Drew Bledsoe won't be a godsend, but he isn't a slouch either, so he should get the job done.
I can definitely see them 2nd in the division this year and competing for the division title within the next few years.
Gonzo
04-26-2005, 09:41 PM
However, I'm with Crimson in hoping the Eagles fall apart. While I do hate the Cowboys and Redskins quite a bit my loathe of the Eagles far exceeds both of those two teams. Definitely going to go down to the Giants/Eagles in New Jersey this year.
