At tonight's TNA Impact! tapings, it will be announced that former UFC Light Heavyweight champion "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz will be the special guest referee for the Jeff Jarrett vs. A.J. Styles match at the Hard Justice pay-per view.
The entire card will have to be made clear tonight, since they tape three weeks worth of shows in a single night, but it's believed that there will be some sort of gauntlet style match. Tito Ortiz is a big pro wrestling fan and has been in negotiations with WWE in the past, and is good friends with several pro wrestlers including Bill Goldberg and Rey Mysterio.
Chris Candido did have surgery yesterday for the two broken bones suffered in his leg during the Lockdown pay-per view. He will be working tonight's Impact! tapings, probably from a wheelchair, as a manager until he heals. He'll also be doing TNA Xplosion commentary. He is still scheduled to work the June 10th ECW reunion show promoted by Shane Douglas in Philadelphia as well.
They didn't show the Lita interview last night on RAW in the live audience. They originally cut to the interview segment, it was immediately boo'd heavily, and very shortly after that they cut off the picture. As loud as the crowd came off on television, especially during the Matt Hardy related chants, it was said to be noticably louder in the building itself.
Tito Ortiz is pas tth point of being even mildly popular. But reading the TNA taping results tomorrow should beinteresting, if only to see whihc direction they go after LOCKDOWN!
And the Lita stuff is just funny.
