WWE Backlash...normally a fairly big PPV, considering it sets the pace for the rest of the year after WrestleMania...will be THIS Sunday...and we have....5 matches...

Batista vs. Triple H II - Wasn't all that great the first time.
Jericho vs. Benjamin - If Jericho does win he is still stuck in Mid-card hell...if he loses then he is a jobber of mic-card hell.
Vis vs. Kane - :wtf:
Old Overpromoted Americans vs. Young Talented Arabs - I hate Hogan...please just die.
Benoit vs. Edge - I don't know what the purpose of this match is...it will be good (unless Edge gets lazy which he comes and goes latly) but still don't know why it's there...

So we have 5 matches. That's it. AND they completly forgot to book RAW's hottest thing going right now Christian...I know TNA was doing Crack when they made an all Cage PPV, but what is WWE doing?

MEH, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since the Draft is coming up right after this. So this is like a filler PPV.

Yeah, they did a shitty job building up this PPV.

Nothing has happened in the Triple H/Batista feud except that Trips figured out he has this magical thing called a finisher.

I'm sure a few more matches will be confirmed before Sunday, but yeah...pretty crappy job.

They added a tag team turmoil match for the tag titles.

-William Regal and Tajiri vs. The Heart Throbs vs. La Resistance vs. Simon Dean and Maven vs. Hurricane and Rosey

I really doubt that they do something with Christian, unless they put him in a quick squash match against Val Venis or something. He's obviously getting drafted to Smackdown so they won't be doing much as far as getting angles started for him.

FIVE matches?!

So much for a brand switch getting more people on PPV's.... :(

CHristian should be on there. However there isnt really much to put him against from a storyline point of view (not that that matters with WWE). Give him a backstage segment with flair and itll be gold.

Captain Charisma will be on there in some form

I can see Christian & Tyson Tomko doing what Batista & Ric Flair did at Armageddon 2003, I think it was, when at the end of the Tag Team Turmoil they walked out as extra challengers and won the World Tag Team Championship. I would personally have The Hurricane & Rosey defeat La Resistance, then The Heart Throbs defeat The Hurricane & Rosey, then William Regal & Tajiri go over The Heart Throbs, Maven & Simon Dean also lose to William Regal & Tajiri, and then Christian & Tyson Tomko cheat to win with the help of Viscera.

Anyway, this card seems OK to me, with the Hulk Hogan & Shawn Michaels vs. Muhammad Hassan & Khosrow Daivari tag team match and Triple H vs. Batista II doing themajor sales for the PPV. Benoit/Edge and Y2J/Benjamin will be good, and decent matches to make the card worht buying for smarks. The Tag Team Turmoil might have done a little bit for sales if they had promoted it, but yeah. It might have just been better to have Muhammad Hassan & Daivari win the World Tag Team Championship from William Regal & Tajiri on RAW, and have Hogan & HBK vs, Hassan & Daivari for the World Tag Team Titles, and the Turmoil match for #1 Contendership.

Anyway, I expect to see Chris Masters vs. Val Venis or something added to the card just to further bury Venis. It would be nice to see Morely take a win though, so that they can send him to SmackDown! and have him do something worthwhile over there.

Kane vs. Viscera will be alright, and I hope they put Big Vis over. His segments with Trish have been good, and the fans generally seem to be taking notice of them. I'd have Christian & Tyson Tomko help out Vis, so that in turn Vis helps out Christian & Tyson Tomko win the World Tag Team Championship. The following night on RAW, I'd have Christian hand his stakes in the World Tag Team Championship over to Viscera.

Backlash is not a big PPV like Wrestlemania or Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. It's basically one of those small house show PPV's or something like that; I can't really explain it. Christian doesn't have to be on this PPV because its small compared to the other big ones that WWE have. If Wrestlemania or Summerslam or Royal Rumble was the next PPV right now and they left Christian out, then you would have a reason to be upset. But I don't think that this is a really big deal. I don't know what I'm trying to say, so I'll close this paragraph by saying that CHEESEBURGERS ARE GOOD!

Oh, and maybe the WWE just don't care.

I originally thought that Christian and Tomko would take the tag titles or that Christian and Tomko would make the save after Kane beat Viscera but the WWE aren't going to do much Christian right now with the draft coming up soon.

If Christian wasn't going to Smackdown it would make sense for him to cost Michaels his tag match and have a monster CREDIBLE fued with him. Ultimately with Christian coming out on top...

    You think WWE would put anyone other then Trips...let alone someone talented, young, and charismatic over Michaels...

Maybe the WWE should start thinking about conducting the draft sometime during a PPV. Have just before the main event, perhaps. People were willing to tune in to watch it; maybe they'd pay to see it on a pay-per-view.

Would make Backlash less useless, anyway.

Christian's whole thing right now is about the draft. He's breaking out slowly. I expect more AFTER the draft. A backstage deal makes more sense than a match right now.

I think it's actually the WWE missing something, a few matches maybe? Backlash 2000 will remain as one of my favourite PPV's of all time though, when Austin came back and helped Rock win the title..good times, it's a shame the way they've treated the PPV since then.
