Awesome pitching duel today. There was a lot of hype for Clemens/Maddox today, but Halladay/Johnson was far superior. 2-0 complete game shutout win for Roy and the Jays. Johnson to his credit pitched a good game(complete) too.

AL East scares me this year since its going to be tough for the wildcard to come out of a divison this good - People said it last year but this so much better this year IMO
I don't think Clemens/Maddox was more hyped then this game though. Halliday has been one the best pitcher in MLB the last few years, along with Johnson. Clemens is having a monster year too but Maddox is nowhere near his old self.

Clemens/Maddux was the one I saw hyped, I didn't even know it was Halladay pitching tonight until Your Hero told me. There was also the Mulder and Hudson matchup.
Anyway, I could see the White Sox getting the wild card this year.

FUCK ERIC HINSKE. mad props to Halladay though, actually, the whole game was pretty great.

Hudson-Mulder also went down tonight.
I guess its pretty hard to hype up all of those three. Maddux-Clemens for sure was the only one that I had heard of before tonight, don't know why the media tried to make that one out as the best matchup considering the quality of the other two match ups.

It was the first time in history two 300 game winners had faced each other? Combined 11 Cy young awards? The top two pitcher of the last 20 years? Is it really that hard to understand?
Clemons vs Maddux was epic . Forget about the score.

Oh I understand that, but Halladay/Johnson was the better game IMO.

Better game. I was just answering the question as to why the media hyped the Mddux/Clemens match-up. Two aces will face off probably a hundred times or so around the majors this year.
With the way that starting pitching is -- less starts, less innings -- Maddux/Clemens might be the last time we see two 300 game winners face off.

No it wasn't the first time in history two 300 game winners faced off. Pud Galvin and Tim Keefe did it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy back when.

Yeah didn't mean it like that, I didn't word it very well. Meant to say that the media made it out like it was gonna be a game for the ages

i figured halladay was just hurt last year and that he would return to his 2003 form this season. it's why i tried to get him early on all of my fantasy teams, and it has paid off nicely.

Give him time, everybody sucks their first year in a new league. Jason Kendall was a career .300 hitter in the Nl and is now hittign like .215 in the AL. Yeah Beltre got way too much $$ and he'll probably never have another season like last year again, but he can still be a good player and he's only 26.

I've been to 12 games so far this season (I've seen Twins, Yanks, A's, Padres, and Red Sox). Little short on cash right now, probably not gonna go again until mid June when they have a homestand vs. Phils, Mets, and A's

What do season's tickets cost(where you sat, where did you sit)?
The Miz
05-31-2005, 12:48 AM
like $2300 i think. I had good seats, near the left fielder. the cheapest were $1200, those were for boxes though. I hate boxes, sitting with the obnoxious fans and the smell of beer and hot dogs is part of the baseball game experience. The highest was like $3000 for around-home plate area
YOUR Hero

geez, that's close to 30 bucks per game. I'm way too cheap to spend that for 82 games.
I'd end up spending it.
