View Full Version : Bring Back Some Moves

Ya know, I think that the WWE needs to bring back some more moves… And I guess I’ll talk about ones that I want to see brought back.
<u>The Pineapple Crush</u>
My first memory of this was seeing Crush do it, as he just grabbed a guy’s head and he applied pressure. Give this to someone like The Show so he can show off his “brutal strength”
<u>Hanging Vertical Suplex</u>
Give this to a dude like Masters. Just get him up for a suplex, yes, the whole “show off the power by balance” thingie, and he might be able to be seen as someone who does more than just a full nelson.
<u>Shoulder Breaker</u>
The biggest prob with how HidenRape used this move is he used it as a finisher. It only worked, once, and that guy turned into a pimp. However, let’s turn this into a cruiser weight move.
<u>Double Team Boot In The Corner</u>
One dude just holds his foot up in the corner, and his tag team partner takes the victim, and slams his face into the boot. Very basic, but it might work for a team like LaRestiance, or (insert any other heel team here).
So go on, post yours, and let’s see how this works out.

I see the hanging vertical suplex at times still, can't think of any examples though. Isn't tilt-a-whirl backbreaker the move Eddie does? If yeah he did this on Rey at Wrestlemania.
I'd also like to see the Piledriver and Vertebreaker back, a little unrelated but I'd also like to see Kurt do moonsaults more often, he does them perfectly. The one at WM21 was awesome.
Going a little further unrelated, I wish there would actually be more moves in a match, nowadays we only see like 3 moves, the rest of the match filled up by Punches, clotheslines and kicks.

I always think how awesome it would be to see wrestlers bust out more wheelbarrow suplexes. Maybe a Japanese Ocean Suplex would make a better finisher for Funaki than the Rising Sun?

Brainbuster suplex. It's a simple and basic move, yet it looks like it hurts like a bitch.

That's the one I wasgoing to say. I've always been a big mark for this move for some reason. Especially if it's a STALLING Brainbuster Suplex.
How about.....
The Figure Four around the ringpost? I thought it was a pretty bad ass move for a heel to use.

The Rude Awakening
Hammerlock into a Kneedrop(like Rick Martel used to do)

Somewhere on the great and vast land (for porn) called The Internet there's a video of The Big Bossman VS Doink. Awesome seeing Doink as a heel. Anywho, he does this neck breaker where he kneeled down, applied some pressure, and I think the ref asked The Bossman if he wanted to quit. When he said no, Doink stood up, and hit the neckbreaker. Nice move, great way for a heel to "slowly take apart his victim!"
I also wanna see a double underhook powerbomb. Get the guy between your legs, hook the arms, shout out your catch phrase, and boom. The crowd is booing the horrid villain, and then he gets the face who is about to meet his doom hooked up... "IT WASN'T MY FAULT!", then the move.
I'd like to see Tonko and Xtian bring back the conchairto.
Now I don't know what this movie is called, and I think Shelton MIGHT be using it right now off the top rope... In one of the old WWF (as it was called back in the day) they had Bret Hart use this move, and they called it a Heart Attack. I believe in the newer SmackDown games it's part of the Spine & Neck Breaker double team. Just like a flying bulldog, only you grab their face and drop the back of their head to the mat. I think for a smaller heavyweight it'll work.
The Mandible Claw- NOT Mr. Socko. Albeit Mr. Socko got a nice pop, part of Mr. Socko was it was a dirty sock in his pants. It must have tasted bad, and it was ewww.
The Mandible Claw, on the othe hand, was just brutal. Oh damn, I recall the first time I saw it, hearing Mankind squeel as he did it, I thought it was Bart Gunn... The next day I was at some hospital, and there was a dude who, looking back at it now, was mentally no more than an infant. Scared the living hell outta me.

The should bring back the 1980's style hip toss. And the sunset flip. Because those moves were totally rad. Also, bring back the Doomsday device. But that probably wont happen b/c every tag team now is just 2 guys thrown together.

The Hart Attack is both halves of that move.

Some of those sick looking suplexes Taz used to do. Not sure why a guy with an amateur background like Charlie Haas doesn't use some of those.

This is not exactly bringing back moves...
But, Taz's suplexes :o
Mr. Nerfect

An actual T-Bone Suplex would be nice. Not the Exploder Suplex (which Shelton, Charlie and Regal do) but the T-Bone.
They should have someone use the Osaka Street Cutter. What better move for some guy that's heaving trouble getting over than the Osaka Street Cutter?

The Piledriver.
i agree. I barely see the piledriver anymore (except for Jerry Lawler)

There have been nearly zero piledrivers since Owen(RIP) v. Austin. Not sure I agree with the decision, but I understand it. You don't see running powerbombs these days, either. But for the question of the topic at hand, Regal Stretch. And maybe a Sharpshooter which doesn't suck.

Technically, the Tombstone is a piledriver. It's also probably the more dangerous one, since you don't have the other guy's legs to ease it up. (I'm just naturally assuming that the legs give you more leverage to be safe.) And that wasn't banned until a few years later, when Vince's baby boy got shaken up from it. :nono:

But now it's back and I think it's one of the safer piledrivers out there. If Undertaker has the guy up high enough, he can absorb all of the impact with his knees.
Must be why his knees are in such bad shape.

With the smaller guys, yeah. The Tombstone by Kane to Linda didn't even have Linda's head come close to the ground. For the taller/bigger guys it must be harder to keep them up.

Yeah, Trips took a Tombstone from Kane and immediately went and told Vince that he was "shaken up" from it. That's why we really didn't see the Tombstone till the Underbiker turned back into the Undertaker.

Maybe maybe not. All depends on how long Taker has them up.

I thought that it was Undertaker who did it at Judgment Day 2000 when he returned...

Maybe it was, but I thought I had heard that it was at the hands of Kane on some random Raw.

Some one needs to bring back Arn Anderson's spinebuster. That was a devastating move that a wrestler rarely got up from.

Or in the case of tag teams, the Doomsday Device, used by the Road Warriors (LOD) would be a great TT finisher. Or the Rocker Launcher, used by the Midnight Express (for those old enough to remember them). Either would be a great way to finish off a tag team match.

i meant besides Batista, his isnt really an Arn Anderson spinebuster anyway. AA spun with his spinebuster.

I don't think we'll see the DD anytime soon.
You know, given the lack of actual tag teams in the WWE right now.

Oh i know one tag team move thats really only used in Mexico, the Electric Chair Superplex. I saw it once in WCW with Wrath and Mortis (Chris Kanyon) except Kanyon got Wrath's head slammed right into his balls.

They need to bring back some of the old submission moves:
Texas Cloverleaf
Sharpshooter (that doesn't suck)
Indian Deathlock
Triangle Choke
STF
Liontamer

Bring back Chris Jericho's OLD Walls of Jericho.. the one where it looks like the person recieving the Walls of Jericho is having their neck strained like hell
EDIT: I didnt see the last dude's post.. but I totally agree

Maybe The Superheroes could use the Doomsday Device. Have Rosey hoist up the opponent, then Hurricane, a cruiserweight, fly through the air for the clothesline part.
But more moves:
Liontamer
Vertebreaker
Goofiest move in Sports Entertainment
Double Top-rope superplex
Crash Landing/Styles Clash
Rikishi Driver (Seriously, this move was shit hot)
