OK, so about the new Joss Whedon 'Wonder Woman' movie.
According to IMDB.com, "Many actresses are rumored to be in the running for the lead role in this movie, including Charisma Carpenter, Kim Basinger, Lucy Lawless, Salma Hayek, 'Michelle Rodriquez' , Jessica Biel, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sandra Bullock, and 'Jennifer Lopez'."
So, let's say that these are the only choices: Which of these bitches should be the next 'Wonder Woman'?

Well Biel and Gellar have the most action experience. My money is on Gellar

Biel, Gellar was already Buffy

Well Lawless could pull it off pretty easily but I doubt they go that route since she is older.
I'd guess Biel or Gellar are the type of actresses I would expect them to try and build this kind of franchise around. Dunno who Charisma Carpenter is, if she is hot and athletic she could do it too.

Charisma Carpenter was Cordelia in Buffy if you care.

I think Biel stands a pretty good chance and would fit relatively well.

I would have to go with Lucy Lawless.....she was basically already wonder women of oldschool.
Xena would be the perfect wonder women....and im not just saying that because I was a big Xena fan. :shifty:

I dont think Linda Carter had any action experiance when she did the show, and a person can always learn that anyway.

Sandra Bullock, cause that would be hot.

I dont think Linda Carter had any action experiance when she did the show, and a person can always learn that anyway.
And for this reason, I think they should pick an unknown.
Let's not forget what happens when big stars play iconic superhero characters. We get Halle Berry's Catwoman, Ben Affleck's Daredevil, and George Clooney's Batman.
Besides, Joss Whedon is good at casting unknowns. Look at the cast of "Firefly." Sure, Adam Baldwin and Nathan Fillion were moderately known, but had anyone ever heard of Jewel Staite? Or Summer Glau?
So, it doesn't have to be somebody brand new, but don't cast Kim Basinger, Salma Hayek, Jessica Biel, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sandra Bullock, or Jennifer Lopez.
Although, of the ones on the provided list, I guess I'd go with Salma Hayek, because she's the most exotic-looking of the bunch, and Wonder Woman is supposed to be descendant from Greek gods.
Right now, I think I'd like to see Morena Baccarin as WW. She's worked with Joss before ("Firefly," "Serenity"), but she's not a household name. Plus...

Go with an unknown.
I mean really, if a J-Lo or something got the role. It would be about her and not the character.
Regardless, I won't go and see this movie anyway.

...plus someone (topic starter) should post picture of the candidates.

For once I shall say... "They better not be too faithfull to the comics".
Cause I uh...legally acquired some of the more recent issues of Wonder Woman and man... Basically she's Athena's bitch and Athena just gets her to do all this crap for her.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Charisma Carpenter have no chance. Joss has already said he doesn't want anyone from his time on Buffy.
Mischa Barton is also in the running (God help us), as are Eva Longoria, Monica Belluci, Taylor Cole, Evangeline Lilly, and Catherine Bell. So it's all pretty much in the air at the moment.
Lucy Lawless sounds like a good name that I haven't heard thrown around, she could definintely carry off the balance between power and femininity. :y:

Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Flash, Green Lantern, (possibly) Green Arrow.
Is there a problem?

Yes... why can't writers think up something new instead of making remakes.

...None of the ones I mentioned are 'remakes'. :$
There was a Fantastic Four movie in 1994, but only 3 people saw it. :$

Wasn't it only made so Roger Corman could flog the rights to a major studio?

Probably. :( It didn't actually turn out too badly visually, it's just a shame that the story and acting were awful. :$

I just seem to remember reading that he owned the rights, but they were on the verge of expiring if he didn't do anything with them. So he rushed out the film on a shoestring budget so he could hang onto them and sell them...
