why the hell is Edge in it? didn't he win the match at wrestlemania that gave him the right to challenge the champ whenever he wants? again the WWE is being stupid. He should use it at summerslam so finally HHH won't be in a main event. Although I think he should jump to smackdown and beat John Cena in a loser leaves town match. That would rule!

"Although I think he should jump to smackdown and beat John Cena in a loser leaves town match." Loser leaves town :wtf: why not just have a Lights Out match then he could take part in a Dog Kennel match. (this is sarcasm by the way)

Edge is in it because they have no other top tier guys. Also if Edge gets drafted to SD that money in the bank shit is worthless.

Edge better not go to Smackdown because it would take away from Christian's push.

This is just a prediction/opinion, so I may be off but perhaps this is what will happen at the end of this tourney: Benoit might actually beat Batista and Edge will put the contract to use then and lose it?

Great. Not only is this like the fourth thread on this, but we have to deal with Manlove's "I hate wiggers" shtick on top of the normal retardation.

Why shouldn't Edge be in the tournament? He's one of the top guys on RAW, both wrestling-wise and storyline-wise, and he's got plenty of heat. I don't see the point in keeping him out.
What would have been nice is if the Gold Rush Tournament was a 16-Man one, and have it look something like this:
Round 1
Christian vs. The Hurricane
Winner: Christian via pinfall.
Kane vs. Romeo
Winner: Kane via pinfall.
Shawn Michaels vs. Antonio
Winner: Shawn Michaels via pinfall.
Shelton Benjamin vs. Rob Conway
Winner: Shelton Benjamin via pinfall.
Triple H vs. William Regal
Winner: William Regal via submission.
Edge vs. Viscera
Winner: Edge via pinfall.
Chris Jericho vs. Val Venis
Winner: Chris Jericho via submission.
Chris Benoit vs. Tajiri
Winner: Chris Benoit via submission.
Round 2
Christian vs. Kane
Winner: Christian via pinfall.
Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin
Winner: Shawn Michaels via pinfall.
William Regal vs. Edge
Winner: William Regal via submission.
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: Chris Benoit via pinfall.
Round 3
Christian vs. Shawn Michaels
Winner: Shawn Michaels via pinfall.
William Regal vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: William Regal via submission.
Round 4
Shawn Michaels vs. William Regal
Winner: William Regal via pinfall.
So yeah, basically this would become the William Regal experiment. In the final match, have him turn heel, and have him built-up as a threat to Batista's reign. I would even go as far as putting the title on a heel Regal.

If "Edge" was smart (I put it in quotes because I obviously mean the writers), he'd wait until after an incredibly brutal PPV main event (Hell In A Cell?), when both champion and challenger have beat the living hell out of each other, before using the contract.
Say Batista beats HHH at Vengeance (the match that's expected to happen anyway), then immediately afterwards, Edge demands his shot and pins the obliterated champion.
Of course, that would require some strategy.
Honestly, I think they should have given Shelton Benjamin's tournament slot to Muhammad Hassan, even though the Benjamin/HBK match was greatness. We all know the IC Champion isn't going to fight the World Champion, so why even include him?

I agree with you that yes Christian shuld win it..............
but the way the writers are pushing Edge i think he will win the tournament and then he will have 2 title shots and he will use dem both in one night at Summerslam.

Edge challenging John Cena to a Loser Leaves Town Match if he goes to SmackDown! is actually smart booking.
Cena would accept, because that's his character, but it works out really well for Edge. If Edge loses, he just goes back to RAW, where he has his World Heavyweight Title shot (maybe two if he wins the Gold Rush tournament). If Edge wins, he is now the WWE Champion, and has removed the top player on SmackDown! from contention.

Thats what Ive been saying they should do.
I could see Edge winning the tourny, getting a shot at Batista on RAW or Vengeance and then losing. Then they do Batista-HHH 3 at Vengeance or maybe even Summerslam, and then after that match, Edge comes in and picks up the scraps and wins the title.

I'm thinking they're going to do a three-way match at Summerslam with Batista facing Triple H and Randy Orton, but that's just speculation on my part.
Anyway that would be a good time to have Edge run down and use his contract. That is the best way they can have him use it, IMO, and actually makes the Money in the Bank Ladder Match look like it's worth winning (I'm hoping they make it a semi-tradition of sort).

Either way HHH will face Batista at Vengence in a Hell In A Cell match, seeing how the WWE has already released the poster for it. It has HHH face to face with Batista with the headline reading "HELL IN A CELL".

After the end of that match Edge should use his Money in the Bank Contract and face the winner of the Hell in the Cell match, then Edge will have the upper hand. :D
