View Full Version : Batista in a fight with a kickboxer?

A friend of mine told me that he read an article somewhere about Batista getting in a fight with some kickboxer in England. According to him, the kickboxer was talking about kickboxing being real and wrestling being fake, and it escalated into a fight. Apparently, Batista beat the shit out of the kickboxer, and afterwards, the kickboxer complained that Batista was using "unfair wrestling moves".

To me, it sounds like bullshit, but has anybody heard anything about any of this?

Lmao, i had to read that twice just to check what i was reading. Don't expect many serious replies to this thread. This is too childish to even think about it being true.

Well, I heard it from one person. Then, I heard it from another person. Like I said, I think it's bullshit too.

And what the fuck would make you think I would expect anything serious from this group of hooligans?

Because you actually bothered to post it.

It really wasn't much of a BOTHER to post it, I promise. Just wondering if anybody heard anything like that.

And once AGAIN for the record, I don't even believe it myself.

I saw that on another forum, not sure of its validity, though.

Never heard of it...almost 100% sure it's BS...not gonna get on your ass about asking if anyone else heard it though seeing as how you did present it as more of a gossip water-cooler story.

Seems abit dumb to me, the fact that it's got that amount of publicity. I'm going to bet it came off some site like Rajah.com or something.

Glad somebody got the gist of that.

LOL

Logic would dictate the kickboxer not get his ass beat, since he should be able to strike and grapple pretty well, but *shrug*

Hilarious stuff if true.

There was some kind of story similar to this a little while ago, only I don't think it was Batista.

This story is actually true, well not a one on one affair but still.

My mates were staying in the same hotel in birmingham

Basically a group of Kickboxing fans started to take the piss out of the WWE workers. hardcore Holly took exception to this as did a few of the other boys and with security had them escorted out of the building. no actual fights took place. Maybe some rough and tumble when they were ejected however

I read about this in The Sun newspaper.
Then it MUST be true if you read it in the Sun! Everybody knows the Sun prints legitimate articles that have to do with important current events!

Depends on the style of kickboxing.

Most forms, expecially the original European style, are not that effective.

Rajah's generally more accurate than TPWW (And usually posted in English). I wouldn't exactly say that this is something they'd post...

If wrestlers were to get into a real fight, I doubt they'd use wrestling moves. Wrestling moves only work when the other person helps you out. Jump for the chokeslam etc. I bet Batista would just use his fists.

I read this somewhere, however a few days later a new story was up with comments saying that it was all a BS story, apparently Batista wasn't even there that night. Meh.

Actually most martial arts don't teach ground fighting techniques so once you get inside their kicking and punching zone and take them down to the ground they don't know what to do. For example if you watch the first few UFC ppv's (before they instituted weight classes, time limits, rounds, and before everybody knew 5 different fighting styles) the grappler in the fight almost always won. Guys like Royce Gracie would beat powerful strikers like Tank Abbott because they always took them down to the ground.

Kickboxing is no exception, either.

A correction though, most martial arts do teach some level of dealing with an opponent on the ground, just not enough to be effective with the whole "striker/grappler" issue. There are also arts that teach a lot of "mat moves," but for the most part, you're right. Most of them do not. Many of them are even weak in a clinch

However, they're great if you can stay horizontal in a fight and keep your opponent from clinching you.
