So it says on wwe.com

Shame, he actually had pretty good charisma

That frees up more room for some more divas.

It's a swerve. HE's going to be drafted to Raw, where he will take Batista's title.

:shifty:

Kinda sucks. What, was Taker feeling threatened?

Dammit, they get a hoss that actually has talent and charisma and they release him.

Thank god...I mean the last thing we need is wrestlers...Now they have money to do 2 Diva Contests a year. :y:

:foc:

Not that I was ever a big fan of his, but at least he was decent in the ring...and when it gets to the point where Vince is releasing hosses...I get scared.

Loose Cannon
05-11-2005, 06:03 PM
What the fuck? Out of all the big guys, they toss him?

Xero
05-11-2005, 06:04 PM
I guess the peas got the better of him...

:shifty:

Too bad, but I guess the WWE needs some more divas for Vince to fuck, so you know how it goes...

Mr. Nerfect

So they keep Heidenreich and cut Reigns? What are the WWE smoking? Luther Reigns had a lot of talent, and really good mic skills. All they needed to do was give a program to him. Reigns vs. JBL would have made a decent feud.

It's a shame he had to be released, and I wish the best to him. :(

Dammit, they get a hoss that actually has talent and charisma and they release him.
IT's a formula.

Anyway, Vito and LC said it best.

So not only does Vince have a hoss fetish... he has a crappy hoss fetish. :nono:

I was just wondering why I hadn't seen him on Smackdown recently. I wonder why he was released... Knowing WWE it could of been one of two reasons: 1) He was injured and they didn't have anything for him (i.e. Test), or 2) Edge slept with his girlfriend and to avoid an incident WWE went ahead let him go. Either way just another example of WWE not using the talent they had when they had it.

luther was ok.

still green, but he's new, and most of the lower/midcard are green.

He had a terrible match with Eddie (one of the worst I have ever seen), but other than that, I always enjoyed him.

t'is a real shame

Why don't we find out why he was released before jumping to conclusions. Maybe it was his decision.

And just for clarification, that WAS him in The Girl Next Door, right?

God damnit. They're releasing all the good people, watch, it's going to be Trish next. :shifty:

Gouda
05-11-2005, 09:19 PM
Not that great in the ring. Though, better than Heidenriech. I suppose if given the chance he could have improved, much like Batista did.

He was great on the microphone though.

When he was making fun of Big Show backstage he was hilarious

Yes, he was in Girl Next Door. Elisha is a goddess, btw.

Damn WWE. A hoss I actually liked. And yet Masters is still allowed to stink and shit on my TV every week... bastards.

M. Banana
05-11-2005, 10:09 PM
How many other returns are they going to shit on?

I know I wasn't the only one eagerly awating the returnf of Matt... then he's released..

Now Luther?

Pretty stupid move really. Like people have said, of all the pieces of crap that they have, they release one of their more talented big guys :nono:

Reigns was damn entertaining.

Jindrak was more expendable.

Don't like this, either...but who knows, maybe Reigns requested to be released. Doubt it, though.

Look on the bright side: Even BETTER reason to send Christian to SD! :)

Damn, I kind of liked him. Like Snitsky, I was wondering why I haven't seen Luther on tv since he tried to push over the Jeep. Now this gets me wondering if Snitsky is gonna get released next.

Damnit man...Luther Reigns was great...They need to get rid of Cena...

Fox
05-12-2005, 12:51 AM
He was average. I never really liked the guy so I don't care that much. Only good thing I can see coming out of this is that TNA will possibly pick up another name with a little bit of credibility to it.

I don't really give a shit. Whatever. boohoo, they got rid of an ass clown that never really caught on.

He was pretty meh, but there were worse people, including some who were established.

mitch_h
05-12-2005, 11:35 AM
Did he like improve a lot during the past couple of months cause I always thought he kinda sucked.

Loose Cannon
05-12-2005, 11:45 AM
I don't think he improved in the ring, but I really liked his mic work. He had a distinct voice that sounded ROFL at times. He had a decent amount of charisma too. His part in that movie he was in was hillarious. He just should of been a bodyguard for some guy, who was like his messenger as well. Too bad they didn't have a heel GM on Smackdown, cause he could of been the bodygaurd for that guy.

John la Rock
05-12-2005, 12:07 PM
never liked him but Heidenreich should have been fired first

Boondock Saint

As reported yesterday, Luther Reigns was released from WWE and it now seems that it happend at Reigns’ request. It was his opinion that WWE were not utilizing him to his full potential and with him getting older, he felt it was time to go. Concerns on the issue had been voiced before WrestleMania apparently.

The word is that Reigns wants more time to concentrate on real estate investments he has back in Arizona. In terms of his decision to leave, there is no heat on him from WWE management as he was up front with them about his concerns as opposed to complaining behind their backs.

There is a chance that Reigns may return in the future as he left on good terms with the company.

I really loved him. Pretty good in the ring with above par mic skills.

It turns out it was his decision to get released. That's slightly better news, because he wants out, and there's a possibility for him to return at a later date.

I'll still miss him not being on TV, though. :'(

He would have made a damn fine character in a WWE Films project as well.

Good for him. He has other projects and he made the wise move.

It would be my deranged pleasure if he came back, a year or two later, with a gimmick based on his real life persona: "Luther Reigns: Real Estate Agent ... from Hell. Number One on the East Side."

Anyway, best of luck to Mr. Reigns. I'll always consider his squash match on Velocity to be one of the most brutal and entertaining squash matches I've ever seen. :y:

I've never been a big fan of Luther. I'm surprised at his popularity here, I don't really find him that charismatic, find his mic skills so-so, and his ring skills pretty sad...

But still, there are people I like less, and they're still with the company.

darkpower
05-13-2005, 07:14 PM
Now that I think about it...if Luther DID come back and they used his real estate "success" as a selling point, they could put him with JBL's cabinet (assuming it's still around if and when he returns), and that could be TEN TIMES as better as Orlando or the Bashams combined (not to cut THEM down, but still, you know where I'm getting at, I hope).

Yet another storyline that just disappeared. Angle, jindrak and reigns in a stable..next thing you know theres no mention of it again. I'll say this for wwe, at fucking things up noones as consistent as them.

I could see that kinda thing working for haku, hes runs a car dealership in real life, his finisher would be producing a car out of his hair and flattening the opponent with it. That or he could do that weird "uh huu huu hu" noise he constantly makes in the ring.
