View Full Version : HBK blows out knee at house show Friday night, maybe out months

Friday night HBK wrestled Christian at a house show in Evansville, Indiana. Evidently he blew out his knee during the match and on Saturday he was flown out to San Antonio to see a doctor. The popular opinion is that he blew out his knee which will require surgery.

And that sucks too because he was supposed to be at the house show I went to this afternoon. I haven't seen HBK live since 1996 and now this injury ruined it.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Oh and and before anyone asks about a source, this story is all around various sites. I just gave you all the gist of it.

I wanted to see him at Raw in Calgary at the end of May. He'd best be there.

This sucks. I was really starting to enjoy Shawns stuff as much as I used to. His match with Shelton was the shizzy.

Why can't shitty wrestlers hurt themselves?

Cause shitty wrestlers are shitty because they dont go the extra mile. They dont work as hard on there in ring skills and there mic skills. HBK does. Even at house shows. I'm not sure how it happend but i'm guessing it was because HBK was wrestling as hard as he wrestles at ppv's. I respect that.

Oh gods! Just because Shawn's out doesn't mean a thing. Maybe now Christian can blow up into the main event.

Just cause a door is closed doesn't mean you can't break into the house through the window.

The shitty part of all this is that WWE will use this to put Edge over even more claiming that he caused him to go out for months.

His smile is in his knee now?

:shifty:

Nah, just kidding. Seriously, that majorly sucks. HBK is still one of RAW's top workers, and always entertaining. I'm glad he was able to give the rub to Shelton, but if he's out for the next few months, that'll be a huge blow.

Though at least we don't have to worry about him being released cuz he's injured...

Wonder if this will impact the draft? I was hoping Shawn would go to Smackdown.

If it was his quad, I told you all! I predicted it! Trips, Nash, Vince, and now HBK! I'm freaking psychic! :shifty:

Seriously, hopefully he'll get back sooner than later. As much as he hogs the spotlight, he can back it up with his in ring skills, and Angle/Michaels at WrestleMania proves it.

I bet, if they stick with what they said, they'll say he's out because of the 'concussion' Edge gave him at RAW. (They announced it on the RAW site.)

Michaels could still have some on air role (Via taped/remote segments), even if he's not in the house, or able to step into the ring. They could work with this in the draft situation, since EVERYONE'S up for grabs...

Damn, this sucks. He seems to be getting a little more injury prone as of late. Back in October, and now again. Hopes to a speedy recovery. And it looks like HBK/Angle 2 won't be happening for a while.

I hop Holly fights Morgan and Morgan goes for a power bomb.

Good point with the "EVERYONE'S up for grabs" comment. :y:

From a name recognition perspective Smackdown needs another top level face. Especially since Taker doesn't appear to be healthy very often. I was thinking Shawn would be the man to generate some interest. I'm not a big fan of JBL's ring work, but a feud with Shawn would definitely help his character assuming Shawn sells his ass off.

I guess they could have Christian turn assuming he is going Smackdown, the fans will probably turn him in the next 6 months anyway.

Michaels is a good wrestler, don't get me wrong, but he is so fucking injury prone that it's almost annoying.

Well...to a certian degree everyone's like that when they get up in years. It is, as Smith said, inevitible. I'm just surprised that HBK has lasted as long as he has.

I understand that. Part of my implication was that maybe it's about time to give it up.

Its okay guys. Do not worry.

I'm sure HBK will make it back just in time to take Benoit/Jericho or some hot up-and-comers spot at Wrestle Mania 22. :|

Yeah, and to be fair, the interval between his injuries is equal to 8 Nash quad tears.

What really sucks is that this hapened after he spent a couple week in a row proving that he still has it. I mean, we haven't seen Michaels like that in ages. He was on fucking fire, and this happens.

And a lot of times, your limb is neveras strong as before, meaning if you get a couple injuries, you're more likely to get injured. Top that off with his age...

This is why, however, we need wrestlers to bow out before they get hurt, parylised, or killed. Michaels isn't the best example...He's had some injuries, but he's far from the wreck many of the aging superstars are.

This really was bad news as HBK really has been on fire lately. Lets hope for a speedy recovery because the WWE needs him; not just fr his great matches but because he's one of the few 'big-name' performers they have that's willing to put guys over.
