...Interesting...lets see how WWE takes this relative simple angle and fucks it over...(a little harsh concisdering I enjoyed 3/4 of RAW tonight).
Good idea to boost ratings I suppose, although if the guys drafted are insignificant to the marks then it might prove to be a flop.

They can't be like last years spike dudley or that would be terrible for the night.

I just wonder if they will be random picks again, or are they going to try something different with how they pick the actual people, as well.

I believe that this is a much better idea. It'll be one of those on the edge-of-your-seat "Who's jumping ship tonight?" things. It may prove for some good mark out moments.

By the way, darkpower.
I think he may pull out a decent match with Eddie. Then again Eddie could pull a great match with a cup of pudding.http://www.tpww.net/forums/showthread.php?p=265610#post265610
That was me, baby. Woooo!

Meh.. I'd be inclined to agree with you tho. RAW will bury 4 of the 5 guys it picks and put the other guy in a midcard feud.
SD! will push 3 of the 5 guys agressively and relegate the other two to major roles on Velocity after a 6 week appearance on the main show.
And Christian vs Cena will not turn out as cool as we all hope cuz Cena will pin him cleanly three times in a row. Before the PPV match. :shifty: :'(

The only way I can see this working is if they really make the drafts count.
Some examples would be Orlando Jordan and Melina to RAW. This shakes things up, and we get to watch as Teddy Long tries desperately to get them back. Maybe have him trade Booker T for OJ, then have him send MNM over for The Hurricane & Rosey.
Then you can have Bischoff show off what a sly devil he is and have him strip Orlando of the United States Title before sending him back over to SmackDown!. This allows Smackers to rethink their mid-card ranks.

I dont know why anyone would want to break up MNM, but anyway.
The draft needs to get off to a big start. That first week, at least one top name has to jump from either show, and maybe have one top SD guy go to RAW and one top RAW guy go to SD. At least that may get people talking.
If the first picks are say Sly Grenier to SD and Billy Kidman to RAW, it'll be dead right there.
I think they can settle it down in the middle weeks because there will be the ECW PPV to get people talking, and I'm sue they'll want to end on a bang with the last 4 picks.

Sheez. Raw picked up the highest rating last year thanks to the one-day draft. It's like the WWE said to themselves, "That ratings boost was nice and all ... but let's fix something that ain't broke anyway." Smart.
Now I want to know, during this whole thing are the rosters be active on both shows till it is over? Thats the idea I got.

Why only 5 picks? I was thinking since they were gonna make this thing last a month that maybe there would be more. Hopefully they will trade some more like they did the last time around where they traded Booker T and the Dudleys (I think) to get Triple H back.
I might have to tune in to both shows to check this out....and I probably will since CSI and Survivor are over with for now.
heh, draft starts on my birthday
if John Cena gets drafted on my b-day that would be awesome

I have a feeling it's going to be one of those "And now instead of having a match between two talented wrestlers or extend an interesting storyline we're going to have some filler hype about pulling a ball out of a bingo machine... and the next Raw superstar is.....MICHAEL COLE!!! Now watch this pillow fight for a while while we count your money again.

Ok, like I said a number of times, the draft NEEDS to concentrate on the top guys. None of this Maven going to Smackdown or crap like that.
Christian, Orton, HBK, Benoit, Jericho I would move.
Guerrero/Rey/RVD (one of them), Show, Angle, Booker and JBL I would go the other way.
I would definately do a program with JBL/HHH since they teased it so many times. Give Christian and Cena a program. And you have Orton/Taker again. This could lead to Cena/Orton at Mania 22.
But you have other programs like Batista/Angle, Jericho/Guerrero/Benoit is always good, Hassan/Angle would be cool if Angle were babyface.

I like the idea of the draft taking a full month, but considering it's still only 5 people, they've destroyed my interest (And probably any extra draw this might get).
The WWE has a streak of doing just what you described.

I think Charlie Haas should be drafted to Raw and feud with Shelton Benjamin. Haas could go on about how Benjamin has had so much success since coming to Raw while he was stuck on SD! tagging with a queer and Hardcore Holly. The feud could come to a head at SummerSlam when Haas finally dethrones Benjamin and becomes the IC champ.

FUCKING HELL, ONLY 5? Stupid, fucking stupid. If they are going to do a draft, do it from scratch.

With all this talk about champions switching shows I think it might be interesting if they did something like that.....
Now with the heavyweight champs because I dont want to see Cena on Raw...I dont even want to see Cena period.
But have like the US belt and the IC belt switch shows. Or something like the IC champ gets chosen to jump to the other show but he has to drop the title before he leaves. Do something like that so when he gets to the other show he can bitch about how he never lost the title and they made him get rid of it. I think something like that might be pretty good. And with all the talk from people saying there is no way they would do a champ like that I think it would be very surprising and catch everyone off guard.

I dont think SD can lose both JBL and Angle.
I think they are grooming Angle for a title program with Cena over the summer, just absed on how the booking has went.
If SD loses both Angle and JBL that will only leave Eddie as a credible top level heel. Obviously Orotn can fill that role eventually, but he needs to be built back up and he also needs to get healthy.
Christian needs about 6 months of a solid push before they can even think about putting him in the top mix. Its carzy how over he was and how many JOBs they've had him do. I mean its hard to take Christian seriosuly in a main event when he's just lost a match to Flair.
I could see JBL switching, because he could start up something with both Batista and eventually HHH.
Jericho could use a change and I could see Rey moving to RAW, although I fear he would be buried over there. They need a top Latin babyface on RAW for the new deal with USA.
In general I dont mind some mid card guys moving, a guy like Haas could really benefit from being sent to RAW. Same for a guy like Conway, who might be able to work as a single with a new surrounding.
Nonetheless it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes down next month.

I just don't understand why they're still only doing 5 picks when they're spreading it out over weeks and weeks. Just how much commentary can they pull out of one pick a week? Ok...maybe if they get Mel Kiper to work the shows, I can see him getting a solid 10 minutes off of say, Raw drafting the rights to Brock Lesnar and then trading him back to Smackdown for Big Show and a Diva to be named later.
