A New Direction
May 16, 2005
My life and career are taking yet another strange turn. After long debate with my wife, I’ve decided it was time to get off the road completely, and stay home with my family. Last week I gave my notice to WWE and we will be parting ways at the end of my current contract this July. The office and I are parting on great terms and will continue to keep in touch, as we are both open to the possibility of working together again in the future. I can’t thank WWE enough for everything it has afforded me over the past 4 years.
My departure from WWE won’t be a complete end to my wrestling career as I plan to open my own wrestling school. I’ve always kept this possibility alive in the back of my mind and I think it is finally time. I’ve always enjoyed teaching, and after a year as head trainer in WWE’s developmental system (OVW), I know this is something I will both enjoy and be very good at.
I am currently searching for a building to house my school and hope to be up and running this September. Nick (my web guy) is working on a new section to my website, which will deal with the school, and should have more details posted in a few weeks. If you’ve ever thought about getting into Pro-Wrestling this will be your chance to be trained by Lance Storm, in The Wrestling Capitol of the World, Calgary…Alberta, Canada.
I will have phone, fax, a regular mailing address, and a dedicated e-mail address available soon, but until then you can direct all wrestling school questions and comments to me at stormbookmarks@aol.com. Email will always be the best method of first contact and I will post the new e-mail address as soon as I have it up and running. I will be capping my fall classes (limiting numbers) to provide enough, one on one, hands on instruction (and yes I will be the one in the ring with you not some other instructor I hire). So if you are interested in getting your name in the hat early, be sure to drop me an e-mail now.
With all the work on my plate getting my school up and running, I am going to have to put Book Marks on hold. At the completion of our current book, Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud, there will not be a new one, at least for a while. I hope I will be able to bring Book Marks back in the near future, but I’m afraid I just won’t have the time for it right now.
Oh yah, and for all of you who have asked about ECW One Night Stand. I am working it and am extremely excited about my involvement in the show. If you are a Lance Storm, or ECW Fan you have to see this show!!!
All the best everyone,
Lance

The good thing that comes out of this is that Calgary will be even more dominant now in the industry, and that is saying something seeing as how you dont produce better wrestlers then in Calgary..Alberta..Canada.

Hmmm.. I cared when he stopped wrestling, but I not sure whether I should care that he's stopped being an agent. I dunno. Good luck to him anyway. :y:

Why is this sad??? He leaves that shit hole of OVW, is opening a new school of his own, and it seems as though he is happy with this. This is great news for our old buddy T-Storm.

This is another reason for me to move to Canada when I am old enough.
I'm actually really happy for him. This sounds like its something he really wants to do and is very excited about. Its not like the WWE was gunna use him properly on tv or anything. I wish him luck

Odd, I thought he was fired a long time ago. Oh well. At least he'll be happy.
I give it 3 months before he is in TNA.

 Alrighty then....
But this sounds great for Lance. If I was going into wrestling, I'd love to learn from him, and he definitely has passion for this. Nice to see he's sticking around through the ECW PPV, and I wish him the best of luck in his school. :y:

Odd that I got so passionate about this since I am a huge Storm fan and probably TPWW's biggest TNA mark as well... :shifty:

I never saw much of Lance Storm. He didn't do much in the WWE, so I can't comment on just how good his wrestling skills are. However, he seems like a class-act, and he would really be good teacher.
I'm glad he's going to be performing at One Night Stand, because he will likely go all out there.
If I were TNA, I'd be desperately trying to buy the guy a house and a facility down in Florida to help him train talent, and maybe start up an on-screen role there. Lance Storm and Scott D'Amore? That's a recipe for good talent right there.
I think it's more likely he'll end up back with the WWE as a developmental territory in Calgary, however. Either way it's good to hear he's doing something he wants to do, and I wish him the best.

Enough humor.
Lance Storm sucked and never offered anything to the table.
Hell, the reason why Lance Storm was given the "boring" angle is because.......
[now get ready for a shocker......I really hope you're all sitting down.....]
Lance Storm WAS boring. The guy had no mic skills and no personalty at all. Sure, the man was a good wrestler but a person has to have a good gimmick to get over before wrestling skill.
The WWE for quite some time now has always been about entertainment first, wrestling second. Do I agree with that? No. But that is how the WWE is run. And the fact is, Lance Storm wasn't entertaining.
Now Vince should have just fired his no talent ass. Hell, he should have never hired him.
But he decided to do him a favor and try to get him over since Vince McMahon is a class act and didn't want to fire the guy without giving him a chance.
So the WWE took Lance's boring self and tried to make something positive out of the whole "boring" thing because people were chanting "boring" at Storm long before that angle started.
But Lance Storm was so boring, he STILL couldn't get over even after admitting he was boring.
And in my view, he was a dickless pussy for backing down to Holly and JBL.
Anyone who backs down from a fist fight and says it's because they have class is just a chicken shit excuse not to fight.
There's no good reason why you walk away from a fight other then the fact that you are fucking scared.
EDIT: The One [why did you name yourself after that crappy Billy Gunn gimmick?] - Do you realize you gave me a GOOD rep point? You fucked up AGAIN!
The One
05-18-2005, 03:38 AM
No good reason to walk away from a fight? I am sorry who the fuck are you? Lance Storm could/would be able to fight John Layfeild or Rob Howard two on one hopping on one leg and his arm tied behind his back.
You say you don't agree with WWE for promoting only Entertainment, but you say that Lance Storm sucked and never brought anything to the table because he had a boring gimmick. And you even admitted he was a good wrestler, but you still maintain you don't agree with WWE promoting only gimmicks. Way to talk out of two sides of your mouth dick weed.
And you say Vince is a class act? What the fuck? Vince is like any other good promoter, only cares about bringing in money. Vince would NEVER hire anyone if he didn't think they could bring in some rev. But hey if you want to think that a man who has broken personal bonds with people over money makes a bleeding heart act of kindness to someone who sucks...well that's just some piss poor logic on your part.
And wait wait wait wait...Lance Storm got boring chants becuase his gimmick was...wait for it...I hope your sitting down...TO BE BORING! As leader of Team Canada in WCW he was the #2 heel in the company. He was hell-ah over! In ECW as a part of the Impact Players he was huge and his gimmick was VERY entertaining which he pulled off flawlessly.
Lance Storm has received standing ovations from people all over the world, is internationally seen as one of the best in ring performers in the world, and has earned the respect of nearly every single person he has ever worked with.
Now you can think I am wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.

The One -
"No good reason to walk away from a fight? I am sorry who the fuck are you? Lance Storm could/would be able to fight John Layfeild or Rob Howard two on one hopping on one leg and his arm tied behind his back."
Then why didn't he?
"You say you don't agree with WWE for promoting only Entertainment, but you say that Lance Storm sucked and never brought anything to the table because he had a boring gimmick. And you even admitted he was a good wrestler, but you still maintain you don't agree with WWE promoting only gimmicks. Way to talk out of two sides of your mouth dick weed."
Umm, I never said that. What I said was that the WWE is about entertainment first, actual wrestling second. And I am saying that it should be both. Don't tell me you forgot my entertainment thread already where I clearly supported entertainment.
And I KNEW....you were going to bring up WCW and ECW which is why I waited to post this....
Guess what? The WWE isn't WCW or ECW. And ever think the reason why WCW and ECW died was because the wrestling sucked and those companies spent too much time focusing on actual wrestling instead of making characters out of the wrestlers and giving the people a reason to cheer or boo them?
I know you love to blame Hulk Hogan for everything and think he killed WCW since he [and Triple H] are every smarks scapegoats [must be nice to have some innocent person to blame on all your problems]......but the truth was, those companies are no more because they spent too much time trying to cater to the very small Internet fanbase.
And that last line of your post was cheesy. You should stop looking in 1980's insult books for catch phrases. I know you were hoping to bust up the steams with that one, but you failed again. Catch my drift?
....Wow.....I am kind of like The Legend Killer of the TPWW.net since I have owned two of the vets here on this board tonight.

"Then why didn't he?"
Because a man of integrity doesn't need to stoop to the lowest level to make a point.
And I know you SAY you think wrestling should be a mix of both, and since we both agree that Storm can wrestle, I pointed out that he had other gimmicks and got over BIG time in other promotions. Just becuase WWE chose to push him one way that didn't work didn't mean it was the performers fault.
As to you comments of why WCW and ECW failed...let's review the reasons they ACTUALLY failed, and this is not only my opinion but that of everyone in the know. WCW didn't fail. WCW made hundreds of millions of dollars. Even in the "failing" years (which by the by I don't blame Hulk for, infact I go so far as to say that Hulk was only a positive thing in WCW) which I do blame the failing years on Russo, WCW was STILL making money. Why did it fold? Gee-wiz becuase Turner Networks were bought out by AOL and AOL didn't want to continue to show WCW program, and truly didn't want WCW around anymore since it might hurt their image. So WCW was NOT a failure. Now on to why ECW failed. Was it bad booking? No. Poor performing? Hell no. ECW failed becuase Paul Heyman wasn't a business man. Every single person involved with ECW (besides Paul) has said the reason the company went under was becuase Paul didn't know how to manage a company that was GROWING and MAKING as much money as it did. Mismanagment was the ultimate cause of failure.
I don't blame WWE's current situtation on Hunter. I don't like him nor do I like seeing him on TV, but the fact is he is one of the biggest draws the company has. So your jabs at me ultimatly are nothing more then a man without a valid point trying to attack someone who knows more about this business then he.
As for this being a "Legend Killer" of TPWW. Listen here champ, I ain't no legend. This is a mother fucking forum where people come to talk about wrestling, and before you showed up we all got along relatively well. This is now the second time you have tried to make yourself out to be a wrestler or to have a gimmick. And let's review, not real, not important, and ultimatly makes you out to look like a wank. I don't know who this other "vet" that you owened was, but I doubt you did little more then bore him with your usless ramblings until he finally left.

I hope Lance does well. I've liked him since the heel ECW days. (I didn't care for him as much when he was the face that Chris Candido was "using" and subsequently feuded with.)
Turns out he wanted a pay rise since his guarantee was low and he wasn't working house shows to make that cash up. WWE refused so he left.
Scott D'Amore is in charge at TNA now and they are good friends.

You sir, are a retard. You've probably never been in a fight, ever been punched in the face or attacked from behind. To say a person who chooses not to fight is scared is fucking lame - a person who chooses not to fight is fucking smart.
This pro-aggression attitude you have is stale twentieth century masculinity, and the only reason you're so veherment in your position is that you're probably trying to compensate for lacking masculinities elsewhere (in the phalic department or elsewhere).
Fighting is not clever, it's not smart and it's not nice. And yes, before you say i'm a pussy who's probably been bitched slapped before in the past... you'll be half right. I was bitched slapped to fuck in Ibiza by three locals who took exception whatever I did to piss them off, but i am certainly not a pussy.
