Over the few years tag team wrestling has been on a decline due to a lack of proper marketing and a lack of good teams. I am interested in knowing in who you guys think is the greatest tag team of all time. Please take into consideration the following criteria:

1) Teamwork-Simple, how well did the team work as a cohesive unit?
2) Versatility- Was the team able to put aside internal conflicts to succeed? Were they able to come back from defeat and reclaim their success?
3) Style- Did the wrestlers' styles complement or hinder their teamwork? Did they have an effective combination finisher or did they rely simply on individual moves?
4) Longevity- Did the team last for a good period of time? How long were they successful?

Hollywood Blondes had thw whole package. Great talkers, great wrestlers, great workers, great charisma, great gimmick, great heel work. They defined heel tag teams.

I agree, but the blondes had no longevity. They were together less than a year.

LOD. They had charisma, they were popular and had great teamwork. They were together till the end as well.

I'm gonna go with the Steiner Brothers. Their styles were perfect balances of speed, power, and technique and they were a successful team for the majority of the 90s, dominating in WCW and the (then) WWF. They were also very versatile in finishing off opponets. They had two tandem finishes: Scott would pick up an opponet on his shoulders and Rick would Bulldog him; Rick would pick the opponet up and Scott would DDT them; and they had individual finishers: Scott's Frankensteiner and Rick's Steinerline. Although other teams were together longer or captured more championships, no two men were a better TEAM than the Steiner Brothers.

I omitted some teams from the last three years because of the already mentioned decline in tag team wrestling and I didn't think they were worth mentioning(that's why I put in the "other"choice).

That's not there fault. The Blondes in 5 months were better then any other heel tag team I'd ever seen work before.

E & C gets 2nd from me.

Wtf, no Outsiders?

I put the New Age Outlaws. Honest this isn't my huge Billy Gunn markish-ness coming out here, I honestly just think that they had everything they needed. Jesse James wasn't incredible on the mic, but just the opening promo got everyone into the match before the 2nd team even made an enterence. Billy had the physical appearence to make it seem tough. Jesse had the abilty to get beaten down and have alot of sympathy before Gunn could make his turn in the ring before (I admit) blowing up and tagging back Road Dogg. They made the crowd laugh and they were MEGA over as both heels and faces. Being a part of DX certainly didn't hurt either. Honestly there has never been a tag team that I was so excited about and loved as much as these two...

This is too hard. I can see why anyone would vote for LOD. I also wanna vote Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Demolition, and Hollywood Blondes.

As for other, they shouldnt be an other, they should be on this list: Owen and Bulldog. Most talented tag team with loads of success and carried a division for about 2 years. Havent had a team as good as them since.

I will submit my vote after much thought later.

To explain the outsiders.

Most heel any tag team has EVER gotten.

Scott was not a drunk yet.

Both were good in the ring and were pushed like crazy.

Both were good in the ring and Scott was crazy on the mic.

To explain the outsiders.

Most heel any tag team has EVER gotten.

First, There's no such phrase as "most heel"

Second, I think you mean to say most heel heat

Third, Outsiders got more face pops then heel heat

But I do agree Hall was the man on the mic and good in the ring. Nash was not that great in the ring.

I went with the Bulldogs, for the fact that I like when a team has a power guy and a speed guy.

I went with the Hart Foundation because they had great tag team offense, they had heat, charisma and talent. They were also together for quite a bit.

My second choice would have been the Midnight Express, for the same reasons.

Ya I meant heel heat.

Just because they got face pops does not mean they did not get the most heel heat ever.

It was hard for me to narrow it down to 32 teams. I had to omit certain teams(Owen/Bulldog, Outsiders, Billy and Chuck, World's Greatest Tag Team, Power and Glory, The Killer Bees, Mr. Fuji and Professor Toru Tanaka, etc) so I had to put in the "other" choice. I also realize that alot of you here probably have never seen the Blackjacks, Samoans, or Murdoch/Rhodes wrestle in their prime, but I refused to replace them with newer teams b/c these teams paved the way in terms of Tag Team Psychology. If I knew anyone here who's seen matches from the 50s and 60s, I'd have included the team of Antonio Rocca and Miguel Perez, who according to some sources, were the 1st recognized tag champs. In all I spent pretty much all day at school and work thinking about this thread and the criteria for judging teams. I'm a big fan of tag wrestling and I wanted to see your opinions on this issue.

Oh and BTW, I think that the team that got the most heel heat EVER was DEFINATELY the Dudley Boyz. They almost caused numerous riots at ECW shows. Nobosy could work a crowd like them.

The Steiners in my opinion. No other team drove me crazy like the Steiners did, they had a pretty big move selection for thier time and they really set the bar for tag team wrestling in my eyes. Not only were they great in the ring but they were great performers as well. Also had many ways to put their opponents away including a couple tag finishers and I believe their own individual ones. Screwdriver/Frankensteiner/Steinerline are all fucking awesome moves. Steiners were ahead of their time.

I never said it was, nor do I disagree about them being a great heel team. You just can't say they are the best tag team ever, when they were only together 5 months.

Very tough decision for me between my favourite ever team/stable; Hart Foundation, my countrymen; British Bulldogs, a mixture of the two; Owen/Bulldog (other) and the greatest attitude era tag team; E&C.

I think I'll vote Hart Foundation, with honourable mentions to the Bulldogs, Owen/Bulldog, Power and Glory, Legion of Doom, Natural Disasters, Bushwhackers, E&C, Dudleys, Hardys and New Age Outlaws.

Demolition

I don't see how a Legion of Doom imitation can be considered the greatest of all time. They were good, but they were a knock off.

And redoneja, I just found it highly ironic that you have a picture of Power and Glory in your sig, but didn't list them as an option. Not that I would have voted for them, but I just wanted to point that out.

There are a lot of good teams on that list, and there are a lot of good times that aren't on that list. Based on the criteria you listed, I would have to give the nod to the Road Warriors/LOD. Funny too, because I didn't even really LIKE the team, really. But there's no denying what they accomplished in the business.

Also, while longevity is a decent thing to judge on, it may not be particularly fair to teams from newer eras. The product was designed differently back in the days of 4 PPVs a year as opposed to 12+, and things get stale MUCH quicker. I'm just saying, if a team like Edge and Christian had been around back in that era, I may have given them the vote.

Hey Anbody Thrilla, read post #21 where I explained myself. Sure there are a lot of good teams off the list but I narrowed it down to the 32 teams that I thought were the best and then put in teh "other" option in case somebody had an opinion different from a team I mentioned(which nobody seems to). I may like Power and Glory but that doesn't mean that I think they are one of the best EVER. The goal of the poll was objectivity and not to play favorites. If I based my decision on favorites then I would have voted for Demoliton or the Hart Foundation, not the Steiner Brothers.
