Next-gen of course.
If by remade you mean updated graphics then yes. If you mean remade as in new game with plot background, no. But I am voting yes for graphics only.

What DS said.
Yes, but only graphics. Leave the rest of the game, including battle system, story, characters, etc, completely alone and don't add any 'extras'.

Hands down, yes.
Final Fantasy 7 was brilliant. Which I liked 8 too. I LOATHED 9. It was so terrible for me.

I think it would be one of the best selling games ever.

From what I heard back in the day when Advent Children was announced...
They were suppose to make another version of Final Fantasy 7 with better graphics. They werent gonna change the story but they were gonna add better graphics and voice overs and all that stuff. Sorta like what they did to Metal Gear Solid in Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.
But when that was said it was supposed to be a two pack with the Advent Children DVD and since it hasnt been announced now and the DVD is only a few months off chances are we will have to wait for this.
I cant wait though

Fuck yes. I finally just beat it for the first time, and if it came out TOMORROW I'ld start playing it again.

Yes I do.
But Square Enix are fairly against the premise.

I think that the sales of the Advent Children DVD (September 13. GET IT. It has Reno, Rufus, and Sephiroth.) are a big factor in determining whether or not there'll be a remake. If enough copies are sold, it might spur Square Enix on a little bit. Not to mention Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. I don't know how Crisis Core will do, but I expect to see Dirge of Cerberus do pretty well, since far more people own PS2s than PSPs.

I think they should remake it, better graphics and sound (same music, just clearer). But I also think they should expand on the story more, add in a few more character building plots, side quests, maybe an extra character and another continent. Same core story and everything, just use new content to expand on it, and make the game more appealing as it will not be JUST the same game with better graphics.

No.
"Good" graphics are overrated.
Not at all you. Why would you buy a game all over again purely for new graphics ffs

No, it doesn't need to be remade. None of them do.

Nah, why? Already own it for Playstation, and the discs work in PS2 (and PS3 I'd imagine), so no point. Same gamee

I don't think that will be a factor at all. It's not like they don't realize how many people love the game. That's why they're making all the spin offs. They aren't going to look at the sales and think "OMG FF7 is popular! We were just throwing shit out there and didn't expect it to sell, alert the presses, remake the game!!!"

What the hell is the point of just upgrading the graphics? At least give me new sidequests and materia to play with. Granted if they released it without extras I'd be the good little square fanboy I am and buy it anyway.

Yeah, I know. The FF (mostly FF 7) fanbase is huge as it is. I was just thinking that maybe they'd try to milk it for all they could (as most companies do. See: Pokémon), and might actually pull a good remake out. I, and tons of other people certainly, would love nothing better.
I dunno. It just really bugs me. There are umpteen types of Grand Theft Auto games, including ports. "OMG I M KILLING KOPS. DIS IZ FUN LOLZ." Yet it seems like we're holding onto loose hopes of a game with an actual story and actual good characters.

Actually, talk is that it does have a factor in it. They have been thinking of remaking it and they say that it might help persuade them, depending on how well the movie sells.

I bet they are saying that so we all buy it.
Then be like "suckers!" when they dont.
:(
I've heard the game was never fully completed because of time restraints so it would be interesting if they actually completed it.

Yea, I'm totally surprised they aren't milking it with a remake. I just can't believe that they need anything to judge how big the fan base is. I think the FFVII fanbase > Halo fanbase. Dunno, I guess I just figured Square had some common sense.
