why does everyone hate goldberg so much? the number one thing i hear is because he doesn't know more than 3 moves or hes one dimensional. if you watch ANY wrestlers, they have a pattern for all matches. flair will "flop" during the match and do the up over the turnbuckle thing and nobody says he's one dimensional. goldberg is an idiot for not doing what booker t did, take less money but jump in the game right away. I think goldberg is awesome to watch, anyone who can jackhammer the big show has my respect. the intensity level of goldberg is always cool. I just wished he wasn't so money driven. i ws on the goldberg bandwagon in 1998 and I didn't jump off.
Ending Bret Hart's career didn't really help his popularity.

and Owen ended Austins career. Sting ended Rick Rude's career. Rick Flair ended Ricky "the dragon" Steamboats career for Christ's SAKE!! accidents happen in wrestling I don't hold a grudge aginst any of the wrestlers mentioned above or Goldberg. Brett Hart's career ended the second he showed up in wcw! If Brett Hart himself can forgive Goldberg why can't the fans? they had lunch together last year and talked a lot, goldberg wouldn't say exactly what was said but he said they both got a lot off their chests and are now pretty good friends. go to goldberg's site if you don't believe me.

Dude, you have really got to get you're facts straight, and in you're little Austin/Owen thing:
1) Austin didn't get HUGE until after that
2) It was not because of recklessness
Goldberg kicked the shit living shit out of Bret, literally.
vampiro03
05-20-2005, 08:51 PM
from a family of wrestlers the name Hart is wrestling, but if not recklessness what was it? how do you not know the guy's head is a foot below your ass!!!!!!!!!!! it WAS recklessness! I don't think anybody thinks he did it on purpose, but he SHOULD'VE known better! and austin doesn't wrestle BECAUSE OF THE INJURY! read his book!! its called "The Stone Cold Truth". check it out and then, get YOUR facts straight.

I am with Vamprio on this one. Goldberg certainly didn't do it on purpose, nor should he be blamed for the end of Bret Hart's career. Honestly how muhc more would he have done anyway? In this business slight mistakes are a fact of life. Right now there are people crying to blood against the guy who made the "Sonny Siaki killed Chris Candido" thing...or whatever the hell that stupid website was. Sonny didn't kill Candido, Owen didn't ruin Austin's career, Benoit didn't break Sabu's neck (though that one was REALLY 99% Sabu's fault), and Goldberg didn't end the career of Hart. The facts of life are that Bret had a lot of concussions before that one, and it was the fact that they all piled up on him that ended it.
Now having gotten that out of the way...Goldberg sucks. He doesn't have a lot of natural charisma, his in ring talent is sub-par, his mic work is shit as best, and the ONLY reason Goldberg EVER got over was because Bischoff had the good sense to give him an undefeated streak. That's it.
Rico > Goldberg...that's all I have to say about that.

if you read the book you would know the injury is what is keeping him from wrestling. he says so at least 5 times in the book. you need to come off your little high horse. anybody that actually read the book knows the reason he can't wrestle anymore. and I watched the Mega-Powers split up, I heard randy savage slap hogans face to start the wm-5 main event. so, im NO kid. I am an avid fan that knows facts. now if austin himself says it and your little brain can't take the truth then there is something wrong with you........

I know that that piledriver had major major effects on Austin's future career. But the fact is that he continued on until he had so much metal in him he couldn't pass through a metal detector without it goin off.
and yeah I sw the Savage slap too. I downloaded that thing. I downloaded the WM5 main event tween Hogan and Savage. Also the "retirement" match tween Savage and Warrior.
man you easy to tick off. You need to chill a biit kid. This is not teh best way to go about meeting people over a board.

sorry if I was a dick, I just hate when people say that its someones fault if a wrestler gets hurt, they all know the concequences. read the austin book dude, I couldn't put it down. I think that was one of the only books I wasn't forced to read.lol I want to take my son to a show but its not quite like it used to be (family friendly) and I don't want to explain "what that means".lol

yeah man. it's all always fun and games here.
I got started on te book and went a ways through it.
but yeah ususally when a wrestler gets hurt it's that guys fault... like HOlly.
the only guy I can't really think of that got hurt on his own was Show when he was jackknfed bu Nash. It was cause Nash couldn't get him up all the way. Barely got him up to begin with so when he dropped him Show really didn't have much to do. TO protect himself ya know. So sometimes yeah it is the other guy's fault.
but yeah I hear ya on the "what that means"

didn't jacknife powerbomb him like Nash did though, did he? THAT was a fuck up.
The reason i don't like Goldberg so much is not cos of his wrestling skills, it was the way he'd grunt and snort and that was his extent of mic skills (not literally, but mostly). and his locker room was the janitors closet
actually its because he beat Raven for the US title the day after Raven won it....

page 190 of "The Stone Cold Truth"
Problem was when I had my surgery done, I was actually a canidate for level 3 fusion. Youngblood is a very conservitive doctor and he told me if I had three levels fused, I would be completely done with wrestling and there would be a very long healing process, well over a year.
He said "let me fuse this one, then down the road you'll have to fuse those other two". so we didn't fuse those two, but now those are the two that are messing me up. Thats my problem. So everyday that goes by I'm just working my way closer and closer to another double spinal cord fusion.
All because of that tombstone piledriver.-Steve Williams (Austin)
why does everyone keep fighting me on this?

cause you said his career ended.
When your career "ends," that means your are done with what you do. Finished. Austin came back after that and put on 4-5* match after match after match and drew the company loads of cash. So with that said, Owen DID NOT end Austin's career.

The Tombstone didn't end his career, but I guess you could say that it shortened it. Who knows, if it weren't for his neck, he may have kept going through now.

speakin of tombstone. wasn't it Taker that did a number on Michaels back at the Royal Rumble when he tossed him over the rope and Michaels landed on the edge of teh casket screwin some stuff up.
it was a career ender but it did have it's effects.
BUt yeah I have to agree with LC. it didn't end his career but it did have some serious effects on it and smost liekly shortened it.

Hell no! To be honest, I think Austin breaking his neck was one of the best things to happen to his career. Because he was just about to break out, and because he was injured, WWE let him do his running wild and making a mockery of the "Traditional Values". Running out and Stunnering everyone for months on end was one of the things that gave him his outlaw image that made him the top guy in the business. Imagine if he hadn't of thrown the IC title away, stunnered the crap out of everyone, made McMahon hate him...imagine if he took the tradition road to the top, he gets over, soon enough he gets the belt. It would be dull, it was the fact that he was doing something totally different that made him Stone Cold...so hell Austin should thank Owen for breaking his neck (not that it was Owen's fault...again accedents happen...this one just turned out for the better.)

That fucked up Michael's back and forced him to efectively retire and not wrestle til WMXIV when he lost the title to Austin and then retire until he came back in 2002. So another example of a fuck up where a wrestler got injured by accident and it took a part of his career away. Goldberg just plain ended Bret's career with that kick.
