Now i really think this is an important issue to at least show ur opinion about..
All of us are wrestling freaks, and pro wrestling for me is one of my prioreties in life.

WWF/WWE (whatever you wanna call it) has gone through many eras, but only 3 does come to my mind when thinking about it..

Golden Era (Hulk Hogan Era)

Attitude Era (Stone Cold Era)

WWE Era (Present Era)

Personally, i beleive that the WWE is going down the drain.
i think it sucks right now..

but i truly beleive that at one time, WWF was incredible, when shocking moments would make your jaw drop down right infront of you.

I beleive the Attitude Era was what Pro Wrestling is all about, excitment!

Pls post your opinions, we are the reason this bussiness exsists!
Post your thoughts!

My favorite WWF/WWE era actually came in between the Golden Years (which ended in my opinion in about 1992) and the Attitude Years (which started in my opinion about 1997) during what I call the Prime Years. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Davey Boy, Owen, when they were the big time stars. Anyway these is my vote.

Attitude Era - uptil the end of 2000 it was great. then it just went shit - lack of competition killed it really.

Gotta go with The One here, that period between the two was the best for me. Micheals and Hart alone made that period for me, not to mention a Taker who could move, Davey Boy, Mr Perfect etc...

Yeah, that's what they called it...god I thought that was a dumbass name back then...and I guess I still think it's dumb...

But it did let us see Warrior beat Triple H in under two minutes and hop up from a Pedigree :D.

The Attitude era. I enjoy watching tapes from the Golden era, but I became a fan about a year before the Attitude era, which, in my opinion, kicked off with the screwjob, because the Mr. McMahon character was born then and there.

If it weren't for the Attitude era, I may not have lasted as long as I have as a fan. I probably would have dropped off sometime in 1998. At the very least, I probably would have stayed a WCW fan and never shifted over to the WWF.

Best period of wrestling though has to go out to the mother fucking National Wrestling Alliance from about 1984 to 1989...

Horsemen, Steamboat, Funk, Rhodes, Race, Kerry Von Erich, the tail end of the Jack and Jerry Briscoe, Magnum, Windham, Dr. Death, The Freebirds, Rude, Sting, Lugar (back when he was MUCH better in the ring), god it was just 5 stars after 5 star match sometimes.

The Golden Era and the Attitude Era were truly amazing and worthwhile to watch.

The WWE era has had some moments (each WrestleMania, the Elimanation Chamber and some other things made it ok) but overall it has been below average.

And we all know that competition is whats needed for wrestling to be good again. How many people need to say it? We all know it by now.

Best period of WWF was 1985-1992

Best period of WCW was 1995-1999

Oh and it's not going the drain, it is flushed, down, and miserable. You don't need to look any further then who are being promoted as the bigges stars and who holds what belts to realy see what's wrong with this picture.

The Attitude era was the best because overnight everyone was a wrestling fan, EVERYBODY watched it just to be popular.

All people say now is "I used to watch it but......."

Attitude Era - Defiantly. :y: Best. Era. Ever. It was a good time to be a wrestling fan then.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, D-X, Goldust, The Rock, Mankind, ECW, fighting with WCW fans, etc.

You didn't have to be embarrassed to watch it and you could meet a new friend and start talking about it and they'd know what you were talking about and hold their own on the convo.

[The Golden Era was nice too, but let's be honest......it was only cool in our little boy minds. LOL. I mean, you watch it now and it is REALLY cheesy....]

It is cheesy when you look back at it now TLD, I'll agree. But it takes me back and I do enjoy the gimmicks. Bossman, Millon Dollar Man, Akeem, Hulk, Warrior, etc... great times. Plus all of the factions (Heenan Family, Jimmy Hart's stable, Mr. Fuji's stable).... amazing shit.

Also, the WWE going down the drain is a pretty safe argument.

The attitude era was definetly the best perhaps not in terms of the quality of wrestling but for pure excitement nothing can touch it. Its a cliche but competition really did bring uot the best in wwe.

Thank you all guys for ur posts..
i really wanted to know what u really think about this bussiness, how it was, and what it's turning out to be today...
because, ironically, there's a lot of people who really are enjoying watching Cena, Batista, and snitsky!! performers who at one time thought that WWF wouldn't even consider getting them in their ring!

all of those new guys out there with the big boddies, and small brains like Matt Morgan, Snitsky, Heidenrich.. those guys are not athletes for the love of god! those r the kind of guys even WCW in it's worst days wouldn't hire!
ll they do is shove each other around the ring..
even nowadays it seems a finishing move is something optional!

and ofcourse, those quick new champions... Cena, Batista... those guys are another story.. they need 1500 threads to tell what's wrong with them..
And storylines..... god the storylines...
i actually haven't watched WWE Raw, nor Smackdown since i last saw JR pin HHH, only because of 5 punches and a chair shot from batista, and that was about 2-3 minutes before he got pinned... they let HHH stay laying there 3 minutes just because of a chair shot, and get pinned!!
Is that the Same HHH who beat Austin in a 3 stages of Hell in the year 2001??
Kane gets beat fair and square from the first time in his career from a 5 moves guy like batista... true Crap!

but i started watching it agian when i saw things heat up a little with all this talk about ECW, and lita turning heel.. hoping for something interesting to come along.

The WWF lost a big part of itself when they changed their name to WWE.

I will never forgive those nature loving motherfuckers that sued, why in their mind would they sue the WWF, there is no point.

All people say now is "I used to watch it but......."

Sad, but so very true I never watched it because it was popular about 3 months after I was watching it it became popular

Same here Just John. Attitude Era best in my opinion, so many fond memories.

And Hired Hitman, for fuel for your fire on the nature lovers - I was reading the article with the law suit in the newspaper, and the 2 sides were referred to as the World Wrestling Federation and the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Surely this means the wildlife fund would have to change to WWFN? Or WWFFN?

I liked the attitude era. it was real cool. Although there were some real good moments in the new generation era.

My favorite era has to be the Attitude era. Since I only started watching in late 1998.

I think WWE is in the drain now, but it will get back out eventually. History repeats itself, it's only a matter of time before WWE booms again *touches wood*.
