The question i want to ask is, How would you book, or would like to see HHH booked IF he's not in the world title scene?
This isn't a bash HHH session, ive read plenty of "I'd book him to tear his quad again" or "I'd book him to leave WWE". In all sierousness for the good of the business, How would you book HHH w/o any title?
Personally, i'm kinda stumped. Its sad really, he's been with the world title for so long, that i cant think of anything that he could do besides that, but theres got to be something that he could do that would be entertaining. And i do realize that he'll probably never be out of the title scene for longer than a month, but thats not the point of the thread.
Thoughts, comments? Once i read some replys, maybe i'll come up with something myself.

Hmmmmm, HHH well would just be booked like any other. Just like HBK and Kurt Angle, but he would not have the "I want to have sex in the back alley with your wife" angle. I do not see why I would book him any diffrent, he can wreslter and he gets a great reaction from the crowd.

A feud with Shelton or Jericho, with Shelton or Jericho going over. Honestly, though, Triple H is at the stage when seeing him face a face in a match on PPV gives off a main event feel. If they had Batista defend against someone fresh, and had Triple H face someone else, you basically have a double-main event right there.
Vengeance is looking something like this at the moment:
-Hell in a Cell: Batista vs. Triple H
-Grudge Match: Edge vs. Kane
-IC Title: Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho (although I have a feeling Y2J will be wearing SD! colours soon
-Grudge Match: Victoria vs. Christy Hemme
-Grudge Match: Chris Masters vs. Val Venis
-Grudge Match: Rob Conway vs. Sylvain Grenier
The prospect of any of those matches won't light the world on fire, except a possibility the HIAC Match will get some people in. If the WWE did something different and had something like this, though:
-Hell in a Cell: Batista vs. The Undertaker
-Singles Match: Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
-Grudge Match: Edge vs. Kane
-IC Title: Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho
-Grudge Match: Victoria vs. Christy Hemme
-Grudge Match: Chris Masters vs. Val Venis
-Grudge Match: Rob Conway vs. Sylvain Grenier
That's not much different, but it creates another main event quality match that people might be interested to see. Hell in a Cell is a good excuse to ponder buying a PPV, but you need some other good quality matches to make that decision. Especially after what was New Year's Revolution. Triple H can easily play the role where he can step down for the semi-main event, and make it seem important enough to buy the PPV. Couple that with a solid main event match, and a good undercard with *build*, and you're set for doing what you were doing in 2000. Getting higher buyrates, even when there are smaller guys "no one cares about" in matches on the card.
Triple H could really help restore the WWE if he stepped down for a motnh or two at a time. If he went to SmackDown! in the draft, it would really help as well.

I'd book him in a monster fued with Shelton.

Hmm i hardly call 'boring' chants from the crowd on Raw last monday a great reaction.
As for the original question, i would also book him against Shelton, but Shelton wouldn't be the IC champ because it would look stupid HHH competing for the IC title, i would have Shelton lose to Y2J for the title, then go over in a feud again against HHH to show he has stepped up a level.

I'd book him in a monster fued with Shelton.
Agreed if Triple H were to feud with Shelton for a couple of months and put him over it would elevate Shelton into the main event and certainly wouldn't harm Triple H credibilty due to the extent with which it has been built on Raw over the last few years.

If I were booking, HHH would be doing spending most of time trying to make new stars, instead of being in the World Title picture.
He would be the guy babyfaces need to beat to step up ot the World Title picture.
The one thing I could see him agreeing to right now is a long term program with Taker. But the problem is he'll never agree to staying out of the World Title picture.

Yeah, I say either have him build up new stars or fued with a huge star that's just as established as he is. If he we're to fued with another huge star (Taker, Angle, HBK, Big Show, Book, Eddie) then neither of them would lose credibility off of a big loss.

Since the WWE seems to love to take real life drama's and incorporate them into their show, I would definitely play up to the fact that Triple H is still married to Stephanie McMahon. That is why he is always in the main event and that is why he always gets endless amounts of title shots. Then I would bring back Chyna and say the real reason why she disappeared from WWE TV is because Triple H and Stephanie had an affair behind her back. That she was fired because if the story got out it would look bad that Vince's little daughter is a tramp.
Then, everytime RAW begins I would play the classic Ultimate Warrior versus Hunter Hearst Helmsley match from WM 12.
Then I would have him job to Chris Jericho.
Then I'd pay New Jack a million dollars to cut that mofo up in the ring Mass Transit style.
Then if he's still alive he'll be placed in a Polish hammer feud with Chris Masters.
Then each week RVD will Van Terminator him.
Booker T will defeat him after using his scissors kick and I'll have Booker wait for 3 minutes and then he can pin him.
Then he would (again) job to Chris Jericho.
And this sort of thing would continue until the fans get bored of it. And I'm serious. That is how I'd book him. I'll do it too if I ever get the oppertunity.

First thing I'd do is have Muttonchops Mcgameface shave that damn beard. Then I'd have him grow back a normal beard, have his hair wet, send him back home, get his ass on a treadmill, get cut up again, become THE GAME yet again. I'm talking 2000-2001 HHH.
If the WWE hires the ROH guys, I see Joe and HHH having a bloodbath, or Punk/HHH.

I know you were joking, but what if they did play the "I have power because I'm married to the boss's daughter" angle. It would be brilliant IMO. Everyone could call him on it and he'll always just get pissed off and beat the hell out of people for it. If he had another title run with that gimmick, I'm not sure I'd mind.
Everyone would hate him so much. (Even more)

All these sound pretty good, and actually sparked my thoughts as well finally. How about this? HHH losses to Batista for the 3rd time and instead of comming out on raw the next night and doing a promo of how he deserves to be champ, he calls out Batista and simply says "Good Luck." and leaves for a few weeks or more. He returns and back stage he picks a fight with shelton, whom is still being a VERY confident athletic face/tweener brining up all the W's shelton has over HHH. They have a long feud and after some great ppv matches (shelton's not the IC champ btw) HHH becomes the "Respecting great talent" Face character. He then goes on be sorta the character HBK played once and a while against Y2J and Edge, giving advice to others, but having it shot down and then we have a feud. Or the superstar takes the advice and makes HHH a partner of such.
Something like that, but that was a very rough idea. Pretty much have HHH be a "non-pussy" face and still give respect to other wrestlers that give him a run for his money.

Problem is that is if HHH can do that with a straight face. If we can get him to do that, we can fued him with the Boston Brawler for all I care.
Oh, and all these scenarios are without the Ric Flair verbal masterbater?

Why not have him in a slump like they did with Christian in 2002.

I would SLOWLY turn Hunter face by doing thr fallowing. Obviously at this point, the only thing people can understand about Hunter is that he NEEDS to be Champion. So have him go for it, but keep coming up short. Have Ric cost him the title and then ave him turn on Flair. Bischoff says it's time someone else get a show, and he attacks Bischoff. Have him do a (very small) fued with Bischoff's chosen "Next Champion" and have the other guy go over. Have him turn kind of into a situation like Austin, where he has his eyes on the Title and will break any rule he needs to to get there (except he doesn't attack faces, refs, or any other officially to get it) oh and the simplist way to turn him face, have JR cream himself over him for one week.

HHH: Jobber to the the Jobbers.
Why not have him in a slump like they did with Christian in 2002.It seemed like they were going to do something like that now after he couldn't beat Batista, but then they have another pointless match between the two that Dave will most likely win. Then what? Bring JBL over from Smackdown as fresh meat.

He'd get a nasty bump on his head in a match (possibly the result of the HIAC match) and slip into a coma for a couple of weeks.
Then, have cameras in the hospital when he wakes up. He sees himself in the mirror, sees his facial hair, and remembers who he is...Chester A. Arthur, 21st President of the United States!
He will become the first-ever Civil-Service Reform Champion, which he will defend at Summerslam when he, in a shocking turn of events, signs the Pendleton Act Two, protecting employees against termination for political reasons.
After its passing, Chris Jericho immediately wins the World Heavyweight Title, and the Cruiserweight division rises to new heights. Week after week, Vince McMahon clubs HHH over the head with something heavy, trying to return him to his former mind.
Finally, he hits him in the face with a sledgehammer, which opens up a cut above his eye, which soon spills hardway juice all over the office. Once more seeing a mirror (and his own crimson mask), HHH returns to the main event scene and holds the World Title for seventeen consecutive years "to make up for lost time."
After he loses to Batista at Vengeance, bring him back as a more mellowed out heel - finally having his ego take a hit after being defeated three times in a row.
He and Ric Flair then decide that they need to find a new protoge for Evolution. After a few weeks of speculation (coming out to watch matches and do commentary, pep talking certain wrestlers in the back, etc) they finally reveal their person to be Christian. They play it off as Triple H, Ric Flair, Christian and Tyson Tomko being the new Evolution.
After a few weeks, HHH mentions to Xian that he has to "Do it" tonight. In a tag team match, he reluctantly turns on Tyson and kicks him out of Evolution.
Triple H is now Christian's manager and tag team partner. HHH says he sees greatness in Christian. It finally comes down to Christian winning either the Intercontinental title or the World Heavyweight Title and HHH turning on him.
Christian turns face and feuds with Triple H.

Actually, I think Triple H and Ric Flair heading up a new Evolution to defeat Batista when Triple H can't would actually be a good idea. We all know Triple H will turn on that Evolution memberwhen the time is right, but what might be interesting if if Ric Flair turns on Triple H when the Evolution member (let's say Rob Conway) when he defeats Batista for the World Heavyweight Title.

There's so many young, talented, under-used workers they could do Evolution Part II with!
The only problem is it doesn't really make sense for HHH to WANT to lead a new group! After all, his last 2 proteges ended up fueding with him!

The real problem here is that Trips is not exactly a team player. Further, he's been booked in a way that he only makes sense on the top (Mostly because of his politicking).
Short term, I'd book him strong to begin with. Have him put over one of the "futures" of the company in a high profile match. Benjamin, Orton, Hassan (You could even book Trips as the de facto face, going up against the evil Ayrab...), Batista (Though I think he's a bad choice, since it's been DONE), Christian (Though I think he will probably go to Smackdown, and doesn't need to be put over anyway).
Having him lose, then go ballistic and start tearing people up, but no more of this "I've dropped the title, now it means nothing and I will be the main eventer." THat would be the hardest part, because Trips doesn't seem to want to get away from the spotlight.
The problem is, I don't see anything like this ever happening, because it would involve tearing some attention away from HHH...It would also rely heavily on him actually putting forth effort like he used to.

Wow, that's a tall order.
Unfortunately, I think HHH, like Stone Cold Steve Austin (and to a lesser extent, the Undertaker) has positioned himself in a way that being out of the title scene leaves little to work with. Of the ideas I've seen in this thread, Kane Knight's makes sense, but like he said...it would involve HHH taking himself out of the spotlight for a moment, and also...to...put forth some effort he hasn't in forever.
An example of where it had worked in the past, was the period of The Rock as champ in 2000. Kurt Angle was a rising star, and HHH, instead of feuding with The Rock, damn near went face, going against Kurt Angle. This, was perhaps, one of the best angles ever...because it all began with a little comment made on SmackDown from Michael Cole about how Stephanie McMahon found Kurt Angle attractive. It was both entertaining, and it helped both Kurt Angle, and HHH.

I hate to say this but i'd probably turn him face, lets face it wouldn't take much for him to be cheered and his character is in dire need of freshening up.
In that role he could put over some young and exciting heels without much cost to his rep.

I'd keep Triple H as is, only I wouldn't always have his focus the world title. Batista is champ, Shelton, Jericho or Kane screws Triple H out of a title shot. Same basic thingie as SmackDown a few weeks ago. Winner's Choice battle royal. Triple H wins, and he cuts a promo about how much he WANTS the world title, but he NEEDS revenge. "Sometimes some things are worth more than the title!"
I would also have him go on strong for a few years, and then he gets "injured" and puts someone over.
While he's taking a break away from his title have him either reform evolution or The Four Horsemen. Him and Naich will have some sort of test for various midcarders, and the winner or winners get in... Let's face it, Batista and Randy Orton wouldn't have gotten where they are today if it wasn't for Triple H. I hate to say it, but he got them over.
You can't deny how big of a reaction people give him... 'cept when they chant "boring"... But for the most part he can draw some great heat, and his move set isn't that bland.
But since he's a heel... "OMFG HE SUXXOROROR LOLOLOLOLOLaughLOLOLOOLO!!!!!!!!11!!1!!one!"
