Just wondering because I just got a HDTV to get ready for the Ps3 and I want to know if I can currently enjoy games with HD now.

Also, what about DVD's?

Several games have evidently been made with HD in mind, though the differences aren't always huge. I remember one example was the XBox version of Burnout 3. It was supposedly MASSIVELY BETTER with the HD capacity.

I believe that Halo 2 for X Box is HD compatible, but I'm not positive and I'm probably only thinking of progressive scan.

As for DVDs, because HD holds so much more information, as far as I know, there are no DVDs that are in HD. The next generation of DVD (apparently it's going to be a hybrid of HD-DVD and Blue Ray) will have HD.

For the most part, though, you'll only be using it for HD TV programming (either over the air or on cable or satellite) until at least the Xbox 360.

A number of games support 480p, and a few support up to 1080i

What is the difference between progressive and interlaced?

Progessive is one image and interlaced is blending of a few images.

I am pretty sure that is what they are. :o

Not sure the technical crap behind it, but Burnout 3 in 480i = run into everything, while Burnout 3 in 480p = I can see the oncoming traffic in the distance.

So progressive is better?
